  • Patent number: 10552703
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an article recognition apparatus includes a first interface, a second interface, and a processor. The first interface acquires an image captured by photographing a photography range including an area where articles that are recognition targets are arranged. The second interface acquires depth information from a predetermined position relative to an area corresponding to the photography range. The processor extracts image areas of all products existing in the image by using the depth information, and determines whether an unidentified area due to overlapping of a plurality of the products exists in the image, based on the image areas of the products extracted from the image.

  • Patent number: 10521906
Abstract: In a method and processor for evaluating a contrast agent-enhanced two-dimensional magnetic resonance slice image of a heart of a patient in order to determine picture elements revealing contrast agent deposits in the myocardium, an endocardium contour in the magnetic resonance slice image, taking into consideration deposition information describing picture elements potentially revealing contrast agent deposits and determined by image analysis on the basis of a shape assumption for the heart structure that is to be examined, in particular the left ventricle, such that picture elements potentially revealing contrast agent deposits are avoided as much as possible as a contour component. An epicardium contour enclosing the endocardium contour is then determined. Picture elements are marked that indicate contrast agent enhancement in the myocardium lying between the epicardium contour and the endocardium contour as contrast agent deposit.

  • Patent number: 10515114
Abstract: A facial recognition search system identifies one or more likely names (or other personal identifiers) corresponding to the facial image(s) in a query as follows. After receiving the visual query with one or more facial images, the system identifies images that potentially match the respective facial image in accordance with visual similarity criteria. Then one or more persons associated with the potential images are identified. For each identified person, person-specific data comprising metrics of social connectivity to the requester are retrieved from a plurality of applications such as communications applications, social networking applications, calendar applications, and collaborative applications. An ordered list of persons is then generated by ranking the identified persons in accordance with at least metrics of visual similarity between the respective facial image and the potential image matches and with the social connection metrics.

  • Patent number: 10499793
Abstract: Processing logic makes a comparison between first image data and second image data of a dental arch and determines a plurality of spatial differences between a first representation of the dental arch in the first image data and a second representation of the dental arch in the second image data. The processing logic determines that a first spatial difference is attributable to scanner inaccuracy and that a second spatial difference is attributable to a clinical change to the dental arch. The processing logic generates a third representation of the dental arch that is a modified version of the second representation, wherein the first spatial difference is removed in the third representation, and wherein the third representation comprises a visual enhancement that accentuates the second spatial difference.

Abstract: A method for sparse image reconstruction includes acquiring coil data from a magnetic resonance imaging device. The coil data includes undersampled k-space data corresponding to a subject. The method further includes processing the coil data using an image reconstruction technique to generate an initial undersampled image. The method also includes generating a reconstructed image based on the coil data, the initial undersampled image, and a plurality of iterative blocks of a flared network. A first iterative block of the flared network receives the initial undersampled image. Each of the plurality of iterative blocks includes a data consistency unit and a regularization unit and the iterative blocks are connected both by direct connections from one iterative block to the following iterative block and by a plurality of dense skip connections to non-adjacent iterative blocks. The flared network is based on a neural network trained using previously acquired coil data.
