    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A station (STA) may receive a null data packet (NDP) on a plurality of subcarriers, and the STA may generate a channel state information (CSI) matrix for each subcarrier of the plurality of subcarriers. After generating a CSI matrix for a subcarrier, such as at least one subcarrier, the STA may scale each value in the CSI matrix using a power-of-two value to minimize complexity. Specifically, instead of scaling each value in the CSI matrix to a value between zero and one using divisions (for example, which may be computationally expensive), the STA may use shifting to scale each value in the CSI matrix. The STA may then quantize the scaled values in the CSI matrix for reporting, and the STA may transmit the quantized, scaled values in the CSI matrix in a CSI report.

The WTRU may drop PDCCH candidates from the search space when the number of PDCCH exceeds a maximum value.

    Abstract: Currently in 5G and 6G, user devices are required to search a large number of possible combinations of frequencies, start times, message lengths, and error-codes to find their downlink control messages. Disclosed is a faster and much simpler method for user devices to determine which downlink messages are intended for which user device, and also to determine the beginning and ending of each message within a stream of arriving data. The base station can affix a predetermined demarcation bit-sequence to the beginning of each message, and a different demarcation to the ending of the message. As an option, the demarcations may also serve as a demodulation reference, including predetermined amplitudes of the modulation scheme, immediately proximate to the message. Downlink demarcations may also include a characteristic feature, such as a gap of no transmission, for easy recognition and for evaluating noise.

    Abstract: In a message modulated according to orthogonal amplitude-modulated component signals in 5G or 6G, the receiver can attempt to recover a corrupted message by evaluating the modulation quality of each component signal in each message element. The modulation quality of each component signal may be determined according to a distance between the amplitude of the component signal and the closest amplitude level of the modulation scheme, as determined by a prior demodulation reference. The modulation quality may also be determined by the SNR and amplitude stability of the component signal. Upon detecting a corrupted message, the receiver can identify the faulted message elements according to modulation quality, and if the faulted message elements are clustered in a portion of the message (as is common), the receiver can request that just the faulted portion be retransmitted, saving time and bandwidth.
