Abstract: In one embodiment, common functions of hyperlinks are listed and associated with alternative terms, which may be words and phrases that are commonly used to identify hyperlinks in web pages and other documents. A common icon is associated with each common function, and a predetermined position on a display screen is assigned to each common icon. The alternative terms for each common function are compared to each of the hyperlinks in a source document. If a hyperlink matches an alternative term of a common function, the target resource locator from that hyperlink, which points to a target document, is associated with that common function. The corresponding common icon is displayed at its predetermined position on a display screen in the form of a common function hyperlink, which includes the target resource locator. Activating the common function hyperlink redirects the application to the target document.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, apparatus and computer program product for accessible list navigation. In one embodiment of the invention, a user interface article of manufacture configured for accessible list navigation can include markup defining a list including multiple list item, an obscured marker associated with at least one of the list items, and jump logic disposed in the obscured marker. Specifically, the jump logic can be programmed to navigate to a specified different one of the list items responsive to an activation of the obscured marker. Finally, alternate text can be disposed in the obscured marker which identifies the different one of the list items. As such, assistive technology can be programmed to read back the alternate text responsive to an activation of the obscured marker.

Given a document, summarization can be defined as picking k sentences from the original document D such that the constructed summary exhibits two key properties: coverage and orthogonality. Abstract: Briefly, in accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a form author may declaratively state a condition under which a break event may occur to insert a break between data items in a list of data items. Optionally, formatting, a leader subform, and/or a trailer subform may be inserted between the data items in the event the condition is satisfied. Such a declarative condition may be introduced into an XFA template specification. A condition that may be evaluated may include mathematical operation, a Boolean expression, an integer expression, a floating point expression, a string expression, and/or a data item evaluation. A new layout of the list of data items may be implemented without transformation of the original layout of the list of data items wherein the list of data items may revert to the original layout of the list of data items, for example after performing an operation on the new layout of the list of data items.

The server includes an application executor device and an HTTP server device that receives the HTTP request and sends an HTTP response to the HTTP request. A method for sending an HTTP response in a server that generates an HTML file upon receipt of an HTTP request is also provided. The method includes: executing a script; calculating the number of appearances of the string; storing the string in a storage; executing a script when the script is a command for processing a string; replacing the string with reference information; and sending the string file along with the HTML file when it includes reference information for reference to the string file.

Abstract: In order to allow flexible output settings for individual pieces of output data, in a hot folder, names relating to pieces of output data (e.g., subfolder names or print data names) and pieces of output setting information are set in association with each other. Thus, a job ticket is generated using a piece of output setting information associated with a name relating to a piece of output data input to the hot folder.

Abstract: According to the present invention, when a style relating to a dimension of all elements included in a subtree of a structured document is set in a relative unit, all these elements can be displayed in the same style. The user terminal 100 allocates a drawing area to each key when drawing each key configuring a key string of a tree structure, determines a root of a subtree to which a specific key belongs when a style whose format relating to dimension is expressed in the relative unit is set to the key, and converts the style expressed in the relative unit into an absolute unit with the drawing area allocated to the root of the subtree as reference and draws the key according to style expressed in the absolute unit.

Abstract: Real-time query expansion (RTQE) is a process of supplementing an original query with addition terms or expansion choices that are ranked according to some figure of merit and presented while users are still formulating their queries. As disclosed herein, phrases may be presented and one or more terms of a focused-on phrase may be pinned (as desirable to the user). Subsequent lists may be presented as a function of pinned terms and/or user input. In one embodiment, a placeholder may be substituted for one or more pinned terms if less than some predetermined threshold of phrases is able to be presented based upon the pinned terms and/or user input, and another list of phrases may be presented as a function of a query using fewer than all the pinned terms. The placeholder may allow out-of-index phrases to be formed, for example, based upon two or more phrases and/or terms input by the user.

Abstract: A method for converting a computerized briefing file to a PC-less briefing file is disclosed and comprises the steps of: presenting the computerized briefing file via a briefing software, wherein the computerized briefing file has a plurality of pages of briefing data; capturing the plurality of frames of the presented page of briefing data while presenting each page of briefing data, wherein if a difference block is existed between the last frame and the next frame, the difference block being stored in the PC-less file, otherwise, to presenting the next frame; judging whether the pagination of the presented frame is changed or not, if not, continuously capturing, comparing and storing the present page of briefing data, otherwise, capturing, comparing and storing the next page of briefing data; and such steps are not stopped until the last page of briefing data has being done.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products which enhance the use of digitized content by users are described. The methods, systems, and computer program products include causing portions of the content to be adjusted in size according to dimensions which would best facilitate electronic review of the content. The methods, systems, and computer program products include preparing illustrated content for navigation, specifying dimensions for areas within content collections such as pages and orders for viewing the areas, and correlating the specified dimensions and the specified order with instructions for rendering an enhanced view of the content areas. In some embodiments, the illustrated content comprises a digitized comic book.

The human interface features enables a user of the computing device to enter a non-discrete directional input action. The processing resources execute to: (i) provide content on the display surface; (ii) detect the user performing the input action; (ii) determine a vector from the input action; and (iv) select a region of the display surface based on the vector.

Abstract: Automatically detecting the layout of a bidirectional (BIDI) text. In one embodiment, this comprises: determining a shaping attribute of the text based on scanning the text to detect at least one character of a specific shape, while preferably ignoring initial, final, and stand-alone shaped characters; determining a text type attribute of the text from the shaping attribute; and determining an orientation attribute of the text from the determined text type. A numeric shaping attribute and a symmetric swapping attribute may also be determined. Embodiments of the invention may be used, by way of illustration but not of limitation, for bidirectional layout transformation to allow conversion of a BIDI text received from a source computer system in a source BIDI layout format into a layout format of a target computer system.

Abstract: The invention that meets the needs identified above is a web browser plug-in or feature comprising a modification program (MP), a configuration program (CP), a table reduction program (TRP), algorithms and rules, that interacts with a web browser to analyze a web page for tables. The analysis consists of interrogating incoming hypertext markup language (HTML) for table structure <table>, <tr>, <th> and <td> tags, and incoming text for delimiters. The configuration program introduces controls into the text for each column and row delimeter that met a criteria for being hideable. In addition, the configuration program introduces controls into the HTML for each column and row tag that met a criteria for being hideable. The configuration program links the controls to a hiding algorithm so that when activated, the appropriate hiding algorithm will act on the row or column associated with the control. The controls are injected before the web browser renders the web page.

Abstract: An apparatus and automated method are disclosed for alignment of objects in a document which allows saliency within one or both objects to be a factor in the alignment. The method includes, for an input electronic document, identifying first and second objects to be aligned on a page of the document. A one dimensional guideline profile is generated for at least the first object based on a detection of saliency for the first object. The first and second objects are aligned based on the guideline profile to form a modified document and the modified document is output.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method and computing device for temporally displaying advertising content on a webpage are disclosed. The webpage on which the advertising content is displayed may have a plurality of graphical, textual and audio/visual components. The advertising content is displayed around a first area of the webpage, for example, around a video player, such that it hides the original content of the webpage around the first area (e.g. hides the original content of the webpage around the video player). The transparency of the advertising content is increased over a defined time interval so that over the time interval, the underlying original content of the webpage around the first area (e.g. around the video player) becomes increasingly visible. At the end of the time interval, the advertising content disappears entirely. No user input is required to trigger the fade out of the advertising content. The fade out occurs automatically.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-program products are disclosed for automatically interfacing a first physical environment and a second physical environment to a virtual world model where some avatar controller piloting commands are automatically issued by a virtual world client to a virtual world server responsive to the focus of the avatar controller.
