  • Patent number: 11341895
Abstract: A method for application in a QLED display device is provided for cancelling optical crosstalk occurring in a QLED display panel consisting of M number of anode wires, N number of cathode wires, and M×N number of QLED elements. In case of the method being implemented in the QLED display device, a control unit is configured for controlling a column driver unit to supply a positive bias voltage to at least one QLED element that is addressingly selected. In the meantime, the control unit also controls a low driver unit to supply a reverse bias voltage to each of the QLED elements that are not selected. In such case, when the addressingly-selected QLED element achieves a light emission normally, each of the QLED elements that are not selected is reversely biased for failing to produce optical crosstalk.

  • Patent number: 11320650
Abstract: A high-assurance headtracking system for a head worn display (HWD) incorporating ground-truth fiducials is disclosed. In embodiments, the headtracking system includes a camera fixed to a mobile platform (e.g., an aircraft cockpit) and oriented toward a pilot wearing the HWD. Images captured by the camera detect fiducial markers attached to the HWD (and fixed in a device reference frame) and static fiducial markers fixed to the mobile platform, each static fiducial marker including a constellation of individual markers having a known position and orientation in the platform reference frame. The headtracking system include control processors for analyzing the images and identifying therein the device-frame and static fiducial markers. The headtracking system determines a device pose of the HWD relative to the platform reference frame and monitors the device pose for drift or error based on the known positions of the identified static fiducial markers.

  • Patent number: 11287886
Abstract: A finger device may be worn on a user's finger and may serve as a controller for a head-mounted device or other electronic device. The finger device may have a housing having an upper housing portion that extends across a top of the finger and first and second side housing portions that extend down respective first and second sides of the finger. Displacement sensors in the side housing portions may measure movements of the sides of the finger as the finger contacts an external surface. To account for variations in skin compliance, the finger device and/or the electronic device may store calibration data that maps displacement values gathered by the displacement sensors to force values. The calibration data may be based on calibration measurements gathered while the user's finger wearing the finger device contacts a force sensor in an external electronic device.

  • Patent number: 11269510
Abstract: A touch sensor system includes touch sensors, drive-sense circuits (DSCs), memory, and a processing module. A DSC drives a first signal via a single line coupling to a touch sensor and simultaneously senses, when present, a second signal that is uniquely associated with a user. The DSC processes the first signal and/or the second signal to generate a digital signal that is representative of an electrical characteristic of the touch sensor. The processing module executes operational instructions (stored in the memory) to process the digital signal to detect interaction of the user with the touch sensor and to determine whether the interaction of the user with the touch sensor compares favorably with authorization. When not authorized, the processing module aborts execution of operation(s) associated with the interaction of the user with the touch sensor. Alternatively, when authorized, the processing module facilitates execution of the operation(s).
