  • Patent number: 11064376
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), a configuration of a radio link monitoring resource for a radio link that transports downlink traffic for a first type of service, the first type of service having a higher reliability specification and a lower latency specification than a second type of service offered by the base station. The UE may receive the configuration, and detect that the radio link satisfies a failure condition for the first type of service based on monitoring the RLM resource. The UE may transmit a radio link failure (RLF) indication for the first type of service to the base station based on detecting that the radio link satisfies the failure condition for the first type of service. The base station may receive the RLF from the UE, and transmit an RLF response to the UE.

  • Patent number: 11044193
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a novel method for adjusting a path for a packet flow from a source machine to a destination machine in a network. The method of some embodiments identifies a condition at a first forwarding element along a first path traversed by the packet flow through the network. The first path traverses through a hardware, second forwarding element before the first forwarding element. In some embodiments, the second forwarding element includes a programmable data plane circuit. The method, in some embodiments, uses an application programming interface (API) of the programmable data plane circuit to provide a set of parameters to the data plane circuit that cause the data plane circuit to forego selecting the first path to forward the packets of the packet flow to the destination machine and instead to select a second path, not traversing the first forwarding element, to the destination machine.

  • Patent number: 11038791
Abstract: Techniques for exposing maximum node and/or link segment identifier depth using OSPF are described. A network element in a Segment Routing (SR) network transmits a Type Length Value (TLV) element including a Maximum Segment Identifier Depth (MSD) value utilizing OSPF. The MSD value identifies a maximum number of segment identifier (SID) labels that the network element is able to push into packet headers of received packets to enable forwarding of the received packets through the SR network. The network element receives, from a controller, data for a path to be utilized by the network element for forwarding the received packets through the SR network. The data includes one or more SID labels to be pushed into the received packets, and the SID labels have fewer than or equal to the MSD value. The controller and the network element do not utilize Path Computation Element Protocol (PCEP) over a southbound interface.

  • Patent number: 11026154
Abstract: A wireless network comprises nodes, including routers having a tree-shaped communication topology and end devices, communicate in accordance a network protocol, wherein the routers transmit beacons in respective timeslots within a periodic beaconing interval, passively scan for messages, and, in response to receiving a message, transmit an acknowledgement thereof the received message. An end device that has a message that is pending transmission, passively scans for beacons transmitted from any router; and in response thereto, transmits the message, and passively scans for an acknowledgement, repeating those steps if no acknowledgement is received. This provides responsivity in an environment having rapidly changing propagation paths. To reduce power consumption, the end devices do not passively scan for beacons except when they have a message that is pending transmission, and also at predetermined times for reception of a downstream message.

  • Patent number: 11026224
Abstract: Devices and methods are provided for receiving a first indication and a second indication, the first indication associated with a first set of transmission parameter information for a first repetition of data received in a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) and the second indication associated with a second set of transmission parameter information for a second repetition of data received in the PDSCH. Each set of transmission parameter information corresponds to a Quasi-Co-Location (QCL) information for the respective repetition of data. In addition, the method involves receiving a first PDSCH repetition and a second PDSCH repetition. A channel estimate can then be performed for the first PDSCH repetition based on the QCL information for the first PDSCH repetition and a channel estimate for the second PDSCH repetition based on the QCL information for the second PDSCH repetition.

  • Patent number: 11019638
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method in a cellular communication system, for avoiding errors in a HARQ process, wherein an NDI flag is used both for indicating either semi-persistent scheduling, SPS activation or SPS retransmissions, and also for indicating, by toggling of the flag, a new transmission in dynamic scheduling mode. The method comprises the steps of receiving, in a scheduling message, an indication that dynamically scheduled transmission will take place; if a semi persistent resource has occurred for the same HARQ process since a previously received indication for dynamically scheduled transmission, then considering the NDI flag to be toggled regardless of the value of the NDI flag. Thus, if the condition is fulfilled, a UE will always regard the NDI flag as indicating or requesting a new data transmission.

  • Patent number: 10999204
Abstract: Traffic profiling in real time within a video streaming session is described. Multiple data packet flows at a lower layer of the OSI model are observed. A data packet flow pattern is obtained for each observed flow, and each obtained pattern is compared to a pre-defined characteristic streaming pattern. From the observed flows, any data packet flow that has its data packet flow pattern close to the pre-defined characteristic streaming pattern is selected as a video streaming flow. A buffer state of the video streaming flow is identified amongst a filling state, a steady state, and a depletion state, by observing a slope of accumulated data over time. Eventually, multimedia-related information of the selected video streaming flow is provided based on its data packet flow pattern.
