  • Patent number: 11145151
Abstract: An access control system (ACS) for a building includes an access reader, a camera, and an access controller. The access reader is configured to read an access credential provided by a person at an access point and generate ACS data including the access credential. The camera is configured to capture facial recognition system (FRS) data including an image of the person at the access point. The access controller is configured to determine whether the access credential is valid based on the ACS data, determine whether the person is recognized based on the FRS data, grant or deny access to the person through the access point based on whether the access credential is valid and whether the person is recognized, and generate and store one or more of a plurality of access events. Each of the access events corresponds to a different combination of whether the access credential is valid and whether the person is recognized.

  • Patent number: 11138397
Abstract: Embodiments related to local tone mapping for symbol reading. A local pixel neighborhood metric is determined for at least one raw pixel in a region-of-interest, which identifies on one or more raw pixels near the at least one raw pixel. A local mapping function is determined for the at least one raw pixel that maps the value of the raw pixel to a mapped pixel value with a mapped bit depth that is smaller than the bit depth associated with the raw image. The local mapping function is based on a value of at least one other raw pixel near the at least one raw pixel within the local pixel neighborhood metric, and at least one parameter determined based on the raw image. A mapped image is computed for the region-of-interest by applying the local mapping function to the raw image.

  • Patent number: 11074489
Abstract: Wait times at ATMs may undermine the utility of these self-service machines. ATMs are configured to provide faster self-service kiosks that allow users to quickly perform common financial transactions. However, it has been increasing common for users to have to wait on a line to access an ATM. Apparatus and methods are provided for a smart card that stages transactions by capturing the amount, pin and other necessary information on the smart card itself, before the user begins interacting with the ATM. Information captured by the smart card may be transferred to ATM when the smart card is inserted into ATM. The user does not provide the ATM with any additional information after inserted the smart card into the ATM, thereby improving the transaction processing efficiency of the ATM and enhancing user satisfaction.
