Abstract: A method for assisting the construction and validation of an avionics platform uses, on the one hand, a functional description of the platform using avionics functions, software modules suitable for executing these functions, and functional link occurrences between these modules and, on the other hand, a material description of this platform using calculation or communication items of equipment and physical links between these equipment. The method according to the invention enables to generate paths between the various items of equipment by using direct physical links and/or physical links belonging to one or more network(s), and subsequently to associate at least one such path to be each functional link occurrence. It also enables to associate to each software module an item of equipment adapted to host it.

Abstract: Improved convergence in the volume-integral method (VIM) of calculating electromagnetic scattering properties of a structure is achieved by numerically solving a volume integral equation for a vector field, F, rather than the electric field, E. The electric field, E, is determined from the vector field, F, after solving of the volume integral equation. The vector field, F, may be related to the electric field, E, by a change of basis, and may be continuous at material boundaries where the electric field, E, has discontinuities. Convolutions of the vector field, F, are performed using convolution operators according to the finite Laurent rule, which allows for efficient matrix-vector products using Fast Fourier Transforms. An invertible convolution-and-change-of-basis operator, C, is configured to transform the vector field, F, to the electric field, E, by performing a change of basis according to material and geometric properties of the periodic structure.
Abstract: Systems and methods which provide modeling or simulation of gamma ray (GR) tool response using a hybrid analytical and numerical technique are shown. Embodiments employ a GR tool simulation technique which provides gamma ray information simulated as a function of only the gamma particles which reach the detector without scattering. Embodiments utilize a discretization function to determine the gamma particles which would reach a point detector from each unit volume source of an investigation domain without scattering. Embodiments further utilize the foregoing discretization function with respect to a plurality of point detectors, wherein the particular number and configuration of point detectors are selected to relatively accurately simulate the results of a particular GR detector configuration, such as line detector or volume detector configurations.

Abstract: Provided is an automated determination of an optimized parameterization of a scatterometry model for analysis of a sample diffracting structure having unknown parameters. A preprocessor determines from a plurality of floating model parameters, a reduced set of model parameters which can be reasonably floated in the scatterometry model based on a relative precision for each parameter determined from the Jacobian of measured spectral information with respect to each parameter. The relative precision for each parameter is determined in a manner which accounts for correlation between the parameters for a combination.
