Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and systems are disclosed to correlate census measurement data with panel data. An example system includes accessing means to access a message sent from a requesting device in response to accessing media that includes a tag causing the requesting device to send the message to a monitoring entity with an identification of a geographic location of the requesting device and media identifying information. The example system also includes identification means to determine locations of a plurality of panelist homes and compare the geographic location of the requesting device with the locations of the panelist homes. The example system also includes associating means to identify a user of the requesting device as a panelist residing at the first panelist home and associate the media identifying information with panelist data associated with the first one of the panelist homes.

Abstract: Systems, devices, apparatuses, components, methods, and techniques for generating and playing a selectable content depth media program are provided. Media content items are edited to produce selectable depth media segments which are assembled into selectable depth media programs. A media-playback device is configured to navigate and play the selectable depth media program through interaction by a listening user. The user selects the desired content depth for each media segment.

Abstract: A client device accesses a video input stream from an intermediate device for display. The client device analyzes the video input stream to determine that the video input stream matches a template corresponding to a screen portion. Based on the video input stream matching the template, a video output stream is generated and caused to be presented on a display. In some example embodiments, the analysis is performed while the client device is replacing video content received from a content source via the intermediate device. For example, commercials transmitted from a national content provider to a smart TV via a set-top box may be replaced with targeted commercials. During the replacement, menus generated by the set-top box may be detected and the replacement video altered by the smart TV to include the menus.

Abstract: Systems and methods for training network-connected objects to provide configurations in association with events within media assets. A respective configuration setting of a network-connected object and a baseline biometric state of a user may be stored in a database for each event within a media asset. An event within a media asset (for display) may be detected. In response, a command may be sent to the network-connected object to implement the respective configuration setting. A determination may be made whether the user adjusts the respective configuration setting to a new configuration setting within a predefined time of the event. A biometric state of the user may be retrieved from a biometric device in response to the adjustment to a new configuration setting. If the biometric state does not correspond to the baseline biometric state, the respective configuration setting may be replaced with the new configuration setting.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating bill pay requests via an internet-enabled video displaying device are described. The transaction generating system presents users with the option to generate a bill pay request to vendors of products and/or services while the user is passively consuming video content. As video content relating to a given product or service is displayed, a notification invites the user to generate a bill pay request. The user can then use the internet-enabled video displaying device to generate and send a request to transfer funds to the vendor.

Abstract: Techniques for low latency streaming, for example in a broadcasting environment, are described herein. In some examples, one or more individual renditions may be encoded into multiple rendition versions associated with different respective latencies. Also, in some examples, one or more individual renditions may be encoded into multiple rendition versions having different respective amounts of forward error correction (FEC), for example by an edge node of a video streaming service. Also, in some examples, video may be broadcast using a protocol that does not require retransmission of lost packets, such as Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC), which is commonly used for point-to-point transmissions. Also, in some examples, one or more servers may receive quality of service feedback information from each player to which video content is transmitted. The one or more servers may use this feedback information to select and switch between appropriate renditions and rendition versions for each player.

Abstract: Dynamically adjusting upstream and/or downstream spectrum usage by a Remote PHY node. Cable modem association information for a Remote PHY node is dynamically determined remotely from across a network. The association information identifies which cable modems serviced by the Remote PHY node are physically connected to each of the Remote PHY node ports. Remote PHY node ports are remotely and dynamically assigned to upstream device port and/or downstream device port of a Remote PHY device comprised within the Remote PHY node. Based on the association information, each of the node port of the Remote PHY node may be reassigned to a different upstream device ports and/or downstream device ports of the Remote PHY device. This reassignment may be performed to achieve load balancing of upstream and/or downstream traffic sent between a plurality of cable modems served by the Remote PHY node and a Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS).

Abstract: An advertisement scheduler receives a commercial break schedule generated from a completed assignment of one or more spots that correspond to the deals comprising advertiser's orders to place the spots into one or more commercial breaks in the commercial break schedule based on constraints and placement requirements. The advertisement scheduler may determine representative liability per pending spot for the deals and reshuffle the placement of the spots based on the representative liability of the deals in order to minimize liability associated with the deals. The advertisement scheduler may reshuffle the placement of the spots for maximum delivery of candidate deals, where the reshuffle is based on a forecast of expected viewership associated with the deals, and a pacing computation of cumulative demographics guaranteed at a particular point in time, modify the forecast based on weighting factor, and generate a finalized commercial break schedule based on the reshuffling.

Abstract: Video content items are automatically, or with some user input, created for objects based on assets associated with the objects. Where the object is an application, the assets may include images of the application, footage of a user using the application, and textual descriptions or reviews of the application. The assets are arranged using templates that specify audio content to use during the video content item, as well as animations to use during the video content item. A generated video content item can be distributed with the object, or may be used to promote the object.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and techniques for producing, distribution and broadcasting a live social-media-based TV show (“social-media show”), such as live social media reality show, based on one or multiple live video streams produced by one or multiple social media influencers who serve as show hosts for the live show. The disclosed systems and techniques provide a unique social-media-show production pipeline that allows for a real-time collaborative production of a “TV-like” reality show between multiple social media influencers (or “SMIs”) and live broadcast/distribution of the produced social-media show based on a disclosed production format of social-media show(s).

Abstract: An apparatus, method, and computer readable medium for a virtual reality (VR) client and a contents server for live virtual reality events are provided. The contents server receives feeds from each 360° camera at a venue. The contents server transmits a primary first 360° video in a first stream and converted secondary non-360° videos in a second stream to a VR client. The VR client determines relative positions of each non-360° video in order to display rendered thumbnails of the non-360° videos in the first 360° video. The VR client transmits a selection of a non-360° video to the contents server. The contents server transmits the second 360° video related to the selection in a first stream and the converted first non-360° video in the second stream.

Abstract: The subject disclosure describes identifying a table associated with a set-top box that receives services from equipment of a video head-end office, where the table indicates that the set-top box has requested a video stream that would exceed a first number of video streams allocated to the set-top box and would exceed a bandwidth configuration, detecting a conflicting event according to information in the table, reconfiguring the bandwidth configuration allocated to the plurality of set-top boxes to resolve the conflicting event, determining a second number of video streams requested by the plurality of set-top boxes when the conflicting event occurred, determining a third number of video streams to resolve the conflicting event based on a difference between the first number of video streams and the second number of video streams, and instructing the equipment to provide the third number of video streams to the set-top box. Abstract: Methods and systems for selecting and delivering content are provided. More particularly, content can be delivered to an output device from a user device through a device adaptor, such as an over-the-top (OTT) device. The OTT device or devices available to the user device are determined by a communication server. In particular, the OTT device or devices available to the user device are limited to those OTT devices associated with an output device in the user's room, or that the user is otherwise authorized to access.

Abstract: A cable television (CATV) entry adapter includes an input port configured to connect to a CATV network, a first output port, a second output port, a first splitter connected to the first output port, and a second splitter connected to the second output port. The first splitter and the second splitter are configured to connect to subscriber devices at a subscriber premises. The entry adapter is configured to transmit signals in a multimedia over coax alliance (MoCA) bandwidth but not signals in a CATV bandwidth to the subscriber devices that are configured to be connected to the first splitter. The entry adapter is configured to transmit the signals in the MoCA bandwidth and the signals in the CATV bandwidth to the subscriber devices that are configured to be connected to the second splitter.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for inserting local content of interest in an all digital content delivery network. In one embodiment, the content delivery network comprises a cable television or satellite network, and an RF channel thereof is separated or isolated from an incoming multiplex of all-digital content transmission. The separated RF channel is demodulated to provide a multiplexed transport stream, and packets corresponding to one or more programs from the transport stream are replaced with packets obtained from local compression and encoding of analog programming such as e.g., personal, educational and government (PEG) programming. The inserted programming may also contain closed captioning and emergency data alerts. The resulting encoded transport stream is then re-inserted into the multiplex, modulated, and put back onto the RF channel. In an alternate embodiment, space is reserved within the downstream multiplex so as to avoid having to remove an existing program stream.

Abstract: A system and method for receiving user authentication information from a secondary device and sending a list of IPTV devices associated with the user authentication information to the secondary device. IPTV device selection is received from the secondary device and device identification information corresponding to a selected IPTV device is sent to the secondary device. A content selection from an asset list is received at a server and post execution instructions for the selected IPTV device are generated. Next asset information is sent to the selected IPTV device. The asset information includes content associated with the content selection and the post execution instructions. The post execution instructions determine further IPTV device functionality.

Abstract: A mobile terminal has a communication processing unit that transmits, to a video display apparatus for displaying a broadcasted video content, a request for setting a viewing schedule of the video content. A storage unit stores a starting time of the video content for which the setting of the viewing schedule has been requested; and an information provision unit provides information to a user of the mobile terminal. A control unit determines whether the video display apparatus is existent around the mobile terminal. At a first predetermined time before the starting time, the information provision unit notifies the user of the first predetermined time. If the video display apparatus is not existent around the mobile terminal at a second predetermined time before the starting time, the information provision unit then notifies the user that it is the second predetermined time before the starting time.
