  • Patent number: 9951950
Abstract: The gas exchange termination assembly overcomes the affects of fluid turbulence caused by wind, drafts, and air pressure. The invention can be applied to gas burning devices under 4,000 BTU input. Turbulent flow of gases at the gas exchange termination assembly are mitigated by the location of slots and openings in the gas exchange termination assembly for both intake air and exhaust gases. The gas exchange termination assembly is connected, coaxially through the building structural wall, to a sealed combustion system in order that all gases are drawn from and return to the same general location (directly) outside the building. The gas exchange termination assembly includes an intake air hood for intake air with additional intake air openings, an exhaust pipe with slots and a plug to move products of combustion at angles to the concentric pipe as the intake and exhaust gases enter and exit.

  • Patent number: 9928711
Abstract: Disclosed is a Crime on Campus Neutralization System comprising a communication network of 2-way radios connecting a USER to a USER-REPEATER, subsequently to a LINK-REPEATER, enabling a USER to ultimately initiate a LOCK-DOWN procedure on a CAMPUS. Further disclosed, here within, are methods that enable the system to work effectively. This system is very cost effective, consisting of components that can be bought off the shelf. The system is unique in that it does not use the internet, a cell-phone device, a tablet, a computer, or any other device that, by its design, could be “hacked” or “compromised” by outside parties. The system is not complex, unlike other systems which rely on extensive software programs, but instead relies on a 6 decade proven technology.

  • Patent number: 9881108
Abstract: A method of modeling the spatial variation in wind resource at a prospective wind farm site. The method involves a simplified analysis of the Navier-Stokes equation and utilizes data from all of the met sites simultaneously to develop site-calibrated models. The model coefficients, mUW and mDW, describe the sensitivity of the wind speed to changes in the upwind and downwind terrain exposure and are defined for downhill and uphill flow. The coefficients are a function of terrain complexity and, since terrain complexity can change across an area, the estimates are performed in a stepwise fashion where a path of nodes with a gradual change in complexity is found between each pair of sites. Also, coefficients are defined for each wind direction sector and estimates are performed on a sectorwise basis. The site-calibrated models are created by cross-predicting between each pair of met sites and, through a self-learning technique, the model coefficients that yield the minimum met cross-prediction error are found.

  • Patent number: 9874092
Abstract: A fluid pressure pulse generator for a downhole telemetry tool comprising a stator and a rotor. The stator comprises a stator body and a plurality of radially extending stator projections spaced around the stator body, whereby adjacently spaced stator projections define stator flow channels extending therebetween. The rotor comprises a rotor body and a plurality of radially extending rotor projections spaced around the rotor body. The rotor projections are axially adjacent to the stator projections and the rotor is rotatable relative to the stator such that the rotor projections move in and out of fluid communication with the stator flow channels to create fluid pressure pulses in fluid flowing through the stator flow channels. The rotor projections may be positioned downhole of the stator projections and include a self-correction mechanism to move the rotor to an open flow position where the rotor projections are out of fluid communication with the stator flow channels if the telemetry tool fails.

  • Patent number: 9827905
Abstract: Various embodiments of the invention provide methods, systems, and computer program products for monitoring a landscape surrounding an object such as a vehicle and signaling neighboring objects, such as other vehicles or pedestrians, as to whether it is safe or not to move around the object. Specifically, a portion of landscape surrounding an object is monitored using a network of object recognition devices that are capable of recognizing objects against the portion of landscape. A first object is detected by one of the devices and a determination is made as to whether the first object is at a distance to allow a second object to move safely around the object and avoid the first object. Upon determining the first object is not at such a distance, a message is displayed that can be viewed by the second object conveying to the second object not to move around the object.

  • Patent number: 9792818
Abstract: The present invention describes the system of centralized parking payment and monitoring, which uses geo-location enabled devices such as iPhone, android, RIM devices, mobile phones, pagers and wireless mobile computers. Using such system person can get a parking receipt; do payment of parking in the paid parking area directly from his geo-location enabled devices without any intervention of any attendant. Simultaneously, police or parking manager can also check the virtual parking receipt of the vehicle in the centralized parking system using Geo-location enable mobile device. The big differences between this new solution is compared to existing solution are (1) [004] All the current solutions are identifying a particular parking spot instead of looking at holistic view of parking on a whole street or an unmanned parking area. Geo-location devices have 5-25 meters inaccuracy in identifying a position i.e. 1-5 parking spots inaccuracy. As a result, geo-location device cannot locate a particular parking spot.

  • Patent number: 9761069
Abstract: A hybrid security access device is described herein that combines Radio Frequency Identification RFID technology with a new Touch Access technology that utilizes the body for near field emitter communications. Combining these technologies results in security access tags that can remain in or about a person such as in a wallet, briefcase, purse, etc. and be activated by just touching a touch access equipped RFID reader. The need to extract and hand present an access tag close to a reader as required by RFID technology is eliminated. Efficiency, security compliance, card loss due to handling and convenience is the result of the combination of these two technologies and is the basis of this patent application.

  • Patent number: 9753571
Abstract: A touch panel structure includes: a transparent substrate; a shield layer on one face of the transparent substrate; a touch electrode layer on the face of the transparent substrate, a part of the touch electrode layer extending to a face of the shield layer distal from the transparent substrate; a lead layer on the face of the shield layer; an integrated circuit in the non-touch section on the face of the shield layer and electrically connected to the touch electrode layer and the lead layer; and a flexible circuit board electrically connected to lead layer. The number of the connection pins at the electrical junction between the flexible circuit board and the lead layer is reduced. When assembled with the mechanism, the possibility of interference between the flexible circuit board, the integrated circuit and the mechanism is minimized to avoid poor contact of the integrated circuit.
