  • Patent number: 11202308
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive control information indicating a resource allocation pattern for a downlink transmission that is configured for transmission using a plurality of beams and a plurality of mini-slots, where a duration of a mini-slot is less than a duration of a slot. The UE may identify a start time of a first mini-slot of the plurality of mini-slots and a length of the first mini-slot based on the resource allocation pattern, and receive the downlink transmission based on the start time of the first mini-slot and the length of the first mini-slot.

  • Patent number: 11201831
Abstract: Multiple ports of a network device are muxed together to form a single packed ingress interface into a buffer. A multiplexor alternates between the ports in alternating input clock cycles. Extra logic and wiring to provide a separate writer for each port is avoided, since the packed interface and buffer writers operate at higher speeds and/or have more bandwidth than the ports, and are thus able to handle incoming data for all of the ports coupled to the packed ingress interface. A packed ingress interface may also or instead support receiving data for multiple data units (e.g. multiple packets) from a single port in a single clock cycle, thereby reducing the potential to waste bandwidth at the end of data units. The interface may send the ending segments of the first data unit to the buffer. However, the interface may hold back the starting segments of the second data unit in a cache.

  • Patent number: 11178613
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure describe devices, methods, computer-readable media and systems configurations for management and/or support of multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) service in a wireless communications network. An evolved Node B (eNB) may transmit MBMS assistance information to a user equipment (UE). The MBMS assistance information may identify a carrier by which one or more upcoming MBMS services are to be provided and an indicator of a carrier selection mode to be used by the UE. The UE may transmit an MBMS interest indication message including information related to one or more targeted MBMS services which the UE wants to receive.

  • Patent number: 11166218
Abstract: When a serving base station encounters a trigger for handover of a UE to a target base station, the serving base station will responsively predict whether, before the serving base station would direct the UE to handover to the target base station, an inactivity timer for the UE will expire, and the serving base station will then control the handover based on that prediction. For instance, responsive to the predicting being that the inactivity timer will expire before the serving base station would send a handover command message to the UE, the serving base station could forgo engaging in handover-preparation signaling with the target base station for the handover, instead allowing the UE to transition to idle mode upon expiration of the timer, at which point the UE could then engage in idle-mode handover to the target base station.

  • Patent number: 11140714
Abstract: Certain aspects of the disclosure relate to techniques and apparatus for improving random access for SRS switching in a wireless network. Prior to transmitting a SRS, a UE may interrupt communication on a first carrier to switch from the first carrier to a second carrier to transmit a PRACH. To reduce interruption to the first carrier, the UE may use the beginning symbol(s) of a UpPTS on the second carrier to transmit the PRACH. In addition, to reduce interruption to the first carrier, the UE may monitor for another PDCCH order before transmitting another PRACH. Further, aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for jointly triggering SRS transmissions and performing power control for SRS transmissions. A BS may trigger SRS transmissions from multiple UEs, trigger SRS transmissions from multiple carriers from the same UE at the same time and/or perform power control separately for each carrier.

  • Patent number: 11122596
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may transmit a sounding reference signal (SRS) on a component carrier (CC) that is otherwise configured for downlink communications. Due to a carrier aggregation configuration or UE capability, the UE may need to retune certain components to transmit on the CC. If the SRS transmission, including the retuning time, collides with another transmission the UE may drop the SRS, drop the other transmission, or puncture the other transmission to facilitate the SRS transmission. The determination about a collision may depend on the retuning time, channel, or type of control information in the other transmission. In some cases, a UE may drop the other transmission if transmitting the SRS would prevent the UE from transmitting a demodulation reference signal, hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback. In some cases, the determination may be based upon a prioritization and may also depend on a subsequent subframe.

  • Patent number: 11121828
Abstract: New radio (NR) Uplink (UL) transmissions in an NR physical UL channel can be configured for a user equipment (UE) to communicate with a base station (e.g., gNB). The structures and mechanisms for configured these communications different from long term evolution (LTE) in NR specifications. A UE can generate a UL transmission with symbols on the NR physical channel including demodulation-reference signal (DM-RS) symbols and uplink control information (UCI) symbols. The UL transmissions comprise a DM-RS symbol located at each first symbol with variable lengths. The UE generates the UL transmission as an NR physical UL channel with about a 50% DM-RS overhead with a same or more DM-RS symbols than UCI symbols in a sequential pattern (e.g., an alternating pattern). The UE further maps HARQ-ACK feedback on a PUSCH based a frequency first operation that initiates following the DM-RS symbol located at the first symbol.

  • Patent number: 11122594
Abstract: Techniques for triggering multiple basic service sets (BSSs) to share resources for a coordinated transmission are described. One technique includes determining a first amount of data available to send in a first BSS and determining a second amount of data available to send in a second BSS. The first BSS and the second BSS form an overlapping BSS. An amount of resources in the first BSS that is available to share with the second BSS for a coordinated transmission from the first BSS and the second BSS is determined based on the first amount of data and the second amount of data. A frame that includes an indication of the amount of resources is generated and transmitted to at least one of the first BSS and the second BSS.

  • Patent number: 11109371
Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a control channel configuration method, a base station, and a terminal device. The method includes: determining, by a base station, a configuration of a time-frequency resource unit from at least two configurations of a time-frequency resource unit of a control channel; and sending, by the base station, indication information to a terminal device, where the indication information is used to indicate the configuration of the time-frequency resource unit, and the at least two configurations of a time-frequency resource unit include a first configuration and a second configuration. In the embodiments of this application, the base station can flexibly configure the time-frequency resource unit of the control channel. In addition, flexibly configuring a time-frequency resource unit can reduce a probability that time-frequency resource units of different structures are blocked, thereby reducing complexity of detecting the control channel by the terminal device.
