Abstract: A cover material for a vehicle seat sheet is provided. The cover material for a vehicle seat sheet includes a first fabric, a second fabric, and a decorative piping member. The decorative piping member includes an approximately rectangular seam margin part, a tubular part connected to a widthwise end part of the seam margin part, and a core part arranged in the tubular part in an inserted state. The decorative piping member includes a warp and a weft that both form the tubular part and the seam margin part, and an insertion thread that forms the core part. These are integrally woven with a loom. The seam margin part of the decorative piping member is sandwiched by and between an end part of the first fabric and an end part of the second fabric, and these parts are sewed together in a mutually overlapped state.
Abstract: A stitched multi-layer fabric including a face layer, a barrier layer disposed over the face layer, where the barrier layer is configured to inhibit fluid flow, a batting layer disposed over the barrier layer, a first yarn disposed over the batting layer, and a second yarn securing the first yarn to the batting layer, securing the face layer, the barrier layer, and the batting layer together, and forming stitch holes in the barrier layer. A melted portion of the barrier layer fills a portion of the stitch holes in the barrier layer.

Abstract: A mat for removable installation on the floor surface of a vehicle foot well has at least one through-hole for receiving a mat retention device. At least one endless elastomeric sealing member extends radially inwardly from a general sidewall surface of the through-hole. A grommet for the through-hole includes a bottom grommet and a cap. An outer sealing surface of the grommet compresses the elastomeric sealing member of the through-hole, thereby creating an impermeable barrier to water incident on an upper surface of the mat body. The mat body may have an endless ridge on its upper surface that is radially outwardly spaced from the through-hole and that is compressibly engaged by a lower surface of a cap retention flange.

Abstract: A vacuum insulated panel (VIP) and a method of manufacturing a VIP includes a rigid core material having high insulation and low conductivity properties. The rigid core may be made of an inorganic material that effectively mimics a porous silica core material. The core material includes large particles of an inorganic material having a diameter in a range of 10 ?m to 50 ?m. A portion of these large particles may be ground into small particles having a diameter of less than 1 ?m. The small particles are mixed with a portion of the large particles to form a core material which is then mixed with a fiber skeleton and compacted under vacuum along with a fibrous skeleton for structure. The resulting structure provides a porosity ranging from 10 nm to 1 ?m in diameter.
Abstract: Improved containment mats and systems of containment mats may include multiple adjoining mats with a top surface and a bottom surface, and a liner material placed between the top and bottom surfaces. The multiple mats may provide a modular structural mat system that may be installed at a drill site, with multiple mats placed adjacent to each other with a lap joint connecting adjacent mats. A geotextile may be used to cover the lap joints and a coating applied to the geotextile. Such a system may provide containment of potential spills, a reliable working surface for drilling operations, and relatively fast and less expensive installation. The liner and geotextile may be a 100 mil well pad liner.
Abstract: A laminated windshield includes an outer glass layer, an inner glass layer and an intermediate plastic layer or interlayer that prevents the windshield from shattering. The laminated windshield also includes a channel or break line engineered to break outward toward the outer glass layer thereby providing an emergency escape path from the interior of a motor vehicle.

Abstract: The disclosed “Quilt” is in two “Parts”, each Part having a level of insulation which is independent of the other Part. For example, one “Part” can be extremely warm, and the other “Part” can be extremely cool. Both “Parts” can then be joined together to form a “Quilt”. When juxtaposed the two separate “Parts” of the “Quilt”, are a reverse image of each other, sharing both Negative and Positive componentry of a joiner. In this instance a Hook and Loop fastener is sewn into the joining “Channel Wall” of each “Part”. The Hook Fastener tape is sewn along one half of the edge of the joining “Channel Wall” to the middle of the “Channel Wall”, and the other half of the joining “Channel Wall” is sewn with a Loop Fastener tape. This arrangement permits both “Parts” can be purchased separately, and joined together allowing the individual to choose their own level of thermal resistance independently, while still being joined up with another individual's chosen thermal resistance.

The tearing strip is composed of a paper strip which has two longitudinally running lateral folds along which the paper strip is folded on top of itself. The central strip part in relation to the lateral strip parts has a thickness which is at least 1.5 times greater, and the width of said central strip part is at least one fifth of the width of the paper strip. The widths of the lateral strip parts each are at least one tenth of the width of the central strip part. The central strip part is formed with at least one fold on account of which the central strip part is configured to be at least quadruple-layered.
Abstract: An insert for use in a sandwich-type structure, such as a honeycomb panel, is provided that includes a plug and a sleeve. The sleeve includes a plurality of resilient beams, and when the plug is inserted into the sleeve, the resilient beams are elastically deflected by an exterior surface of a wall of the plug such that the insert is adjustable in height and can be positioned properly in an axial/insertion direction to accommodate sandwich-type structures of varying thickness. The result is an insert that maintains a flush profile with both opposing face sheets of the sandwich-type structure, thus reducing discontinuities in surface profile of the overall assembly.

Abstract: A three-dimensional gap-filled preform and a method of forming a three-dimensional gap-filled preform. The preforms comprise a base section of all integrally woven layers, a portion of that base separated into three sections, the outer two sections comprising integrally woven layers, and the middle section comprising an integrated gap filler. The integrated gap filler may comprise a center section of one woven layer, independently woven layers, integrally woven layers, or a plurality of layers of warp fibers that are not interwoven with weft fibers. The layers of the integrated gap filler compress or crumple up in the middle section and fill the formed gap or gaps, while the woven layers of the outer sections are folded to form the shape of the preform.
Abstract: An isolator for damping heat and vibrations between a heat shield and heat source is provided. The isolator includes a housing and a washer. The housing surrounds a center opening and extends axially from a first end portion to a second end portion and includes an intermediate portion therebetween. The housing has a serpentine shape. The first end portion and the intermediate portion of the housing clamp a washer therebetween, and the second end portion and the intermediate portion of the housing clamp the heat shield therebetween. The washer includes a plurality of through openings between an outer periphery and the center opening for enhancing vibration dampening and minimizing heat transfer from the heat source to the heat shield. The isolator optionally includes a collar member disposed along the center opening of the washer to facilitate mounting of the isolator to the heat source.
