Patent number: 4574541Abstract: A construction element for foundation drainage has an integral, flexible, and substantially water-impervious panel lying generally in a plane and formed with respective arrays of inner and outer bumps to opposite sides of the plane. The outer bumps form outwardly open outer flow channels on the outer face. Normally the panel is applied to a vertical foundation wall with the inner bumps bearing against the wall and the outer passages vertical and opening outward away from the wall. The inner bumps and outer bumps are offset to one another in the plane in two perpendicular directions. Thus the channels communicate also in these two directions and the element can be rolled up. A water-pervious and rigid filter sheet overlies the outer bumps, is spaced outward from the plane, and outwardly closes the channels so that water can filter through the sheet and flow down the channels.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 1984Date of Patent: March 11, 1986Assignee: Ewald Dorken GmbH & Co. Patent number: 4570391Abstract: An improved connector for a supporting filter bank framework is disclosed which comprises a body member defining at least two extensions radiating from a common central location. Each of the extensions has a U-shaped cross sectional configuration so as to define a bottom wall and two opposite side walls. A threaded coupling member may be disposed at the central location for securing the connector to a supporting tie rod, and a protuberance is disposed within each U-shaped extension at a predetermined distance from the central location. Adjacent connectors are adapted to be joined by an interconnecting channel of predetermined length, with the ends of the channel being positioned within aligned extensions of adjacent connectors, and with the ends of the channels abutting the respective protuberances. A supporting latticework is thereby constructed which defines a plurality of rectangular open areas, and the length and width dimensions of each open area is automatically established.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1982Date of Patent: February 18, 1986Assignee: Flanders Filters, Inc.Inventors: M. Patent number: 4563842Abstract: A pole-type structure having a plurality of outer walls arranged together so as to define an interior region includes a series of holes excavated below the existing grade line into which a concrete bearing pad is poured. After the concrete sets, a pole is placed in the hole and onto the concrete bearing pad. The resultant plurality of poles provides the main structural support members for the structure. Secured to the poles are bearing plates which extend from pole to pole in a perpendicular arrangement, and disposed across the top of these bearing plates is a spaced plurality of floor joists. The floor joists extend toward the exterior of the structure beyond the poles and the outwardly extended end portion of each floor joist provides a support portion for the exterior surface of the structure, which is brick veneer.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 1983Date of Patent: January 14, 1986Inventor: Bradley D. Patent number: 4558553Abstract: The exposed edge of a planar surface of an article of furniture, such as a desk or tabletop, is trimmed with an elastomeric edge molding. Two projections or flanges extend longitudinally along the inner surface of the molding. One projection, a centrally located mounting flange, is inserted into a longitudinal groove cut into the furniture top edge. The molding is securely attached to the furniture top by inserting the mounting flange into the longitudinal groove. The other projection, a locator rib, is located near the edge of the molding which must be flush with the furniture top surface, between that edge and the mounting flange. The locator rib is inserted into a longitudinal groove cut into the furniture top edge. Positioning the locator rib near the molding edge reduces the dimensional tolerances which are inherent in extruded elastomeric moldings.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 1984Date of Patent: December 17, 1985Assignee: Steelcase Inc.Inventor: Stephen B. Kolk
