Abstract: A chuck is composed of a collet sleeve, a sliding member, at least one linkage member, a collet, and a driving member. The collet sleeve includes an axial hole running therethrough and at least one opening in communication with the axial hole. The sliding member is slidably received in the axial hole of the collet sleeve. The linkage member is inserted through the opening of the collet sleeve and connected to the sliding member. The collet is inserted into the axial hole of the collet sleeve and connected to the sliding member. The driving member drives the linkage member and the sliding member to move for drawing in and pushing out the collet with respect to the collet sleeve.
Abstract: An arbor system includes an arbor, a clamp body of a power tool, a tightening feature and an optional snap feature. The arbor has a flanging feature, a thread and a number of circumferentially arranged driving pins. The clamp body is sandwiched between the arbor and tightening feature in a pressed contact with the flanging feature defining a releasable fix that is fully form fitting. Operational tilt and load torque are transmitted without affecting the tight-screwed interlocking between thread and tightening feature. A snap feature, in the form of a spring pin or a spring tongue of a sandwiched washer, may secure the tightening feature against inadvertent unscrewing. The snap feature and snap serrations may be configured as a ratchet such that the snap feature needs only be actuated during unscrewing of the tightening feature.
Abstract: A platform for a drill is supported on four support members which are pivotable on the platform to alter the angle between opposite members. In one embodiment a stop limits the movement of the support members so that the maximum angle between them can be controlled to suit the diameter of a pipe on which the apparatus is mounted. In another embodiment, the support members are attached by connecting rods to a cross member which is raised and lowered on a threaded rod to pivot the members.
Abstract: A construction member, comprising an elongated body having a longitudinal dimension with a first end and a second end. Complementary end rotational joint portions are provided at the first end and at the second end of the elongated body, for interconnecting first end to second end a plurality of the construction member so as to form a polygon with construction members. A longitudinal rotational joint portion is provided in the longitudinal dimension of the elongated body for interconnecting two longitudinally adjacent ones of the construction member so as to interconnect polygons of the construction member at a common edge of the polygons to form a polyhedron.
Abstract: Since the chip-breaking groove 30 is cut in the inner peripheral surface of the prepared hole 22 by compressing the chip-breaking tool 10 into the prepared hole 22 prior to the tapping process (the cutting process of the female thread) by the cut tap, the chip can be securely broken by the chip-breaking groove 30 and well discharged even in the case that the work 20 is made of the material having the high ductility. Accordingly, for example, as shown in FIG. 10, it is possible to prevent a lot of long connected chips from entwining the tap, it is unnecessary to monitor the tapping work, and it is possible to achieve a complete automation (an unmanned work). Further, it is possible to inhibit the cut tap from being broken due to the pinching of the chip, and it is easy to execute a treatment such as a chip cleaning or the like.
Abstract: A portable combined clamp and bit guide assembly guides a bit, turned by a power driver, into the exact center between the opposing faces of the clamp. The clamp is designed to hold workpieces having substantially parallel edges and a substantially linear centerline on their upper surfaces, and provides a drill path perpendicular to that centerline. An optional incline adapter supports the clamp and bit guide at an angle to the workpiece, while also aiding in support of the workpiece itself. The entire assembly may be carried in a single case with a power driver and bits.
Abstract: A tool for working a workpiece has a slot provided between a pair of extremities at its distal end. The extremities have cutting blades mounted thereon. The slot is configured to receive a plate. The tool has a conduit running along its axis for communication of pressurized fluid to the slot and plate. The plate directs flow of the pressurized fluid outward toward the extremities. The resulting outward force causes the extremities to bend outward, thereby urging the cutting blades outward for cutting, reaming, or other working of the workpiece. The resilience of the tool causes the extremities to return back inward when the fluid pressure is reduced. A plate may be configured to receive a wafer for transferring force from the pressurized fluid to the extremities.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for releasably connecting two coaxially aligned tool parts (1, 2) which can be axially pressed against each other on separating surfaces (36, 38) that face each other with a clamping device. According to the invention, at least one of the separating surfaces (38) is divided into several axially rigid and torsionally soft bearing segments (50) which are spaced in a peripheral direction, in order to dampen the torsional oscillations that occur during the work process and reduce noise.

Abstract: A compact pinlifter assembly is fitted in a substantially enclosed cavity within a wafer chuck such that an overall outside shape of the wafer chuck remains highly unaffected. The pinlifter assembly includes wedge guides providing a movement path in a wedge angle relative to the wafer holding face. A pin actuator is driven along the wedge guides transforming its movement along the wedge guides into a vertical movement of the lifting pins perpendicularly sliding between the cavity and the wafer holding face. The combination of wedge guides and pin actuator takes advantage of the relatively large lateral dimensions of the wafer chuck to move the pin actuator between end positions that are in a distance multiple of the pin lifters movement. Due to the wedge angle, the actuators comparatively large scale movement is transformed in a highly precise, smooth and balanced movement of the pin lifters.
Abstract: An amusement device is disclosed having an animal body portion and a remote control portion. The animal body portion may be a lizard having horns and a tail. A user may use the remote control to cause the animal to move. The animal body has at least one motor operably connected to the animal's head, legs, and tail. The motor causes the animal to walk forward, walk backward, or dance in place at the selection of the user, and causes the tail to move and the mouth of the animal's head to move. An extendable tongue protrudes from the mouth. The tongue may have a magnetic tip for connecting with a magnetic or metallic object. The device may also contain a speaker that plays music and/or words as selected by the user through the remote control. In one embodiment, the lizard dances while playing music.

Abstract: A toy vehicle has a chassis, at least a first drive wheel rotatably attached to the chassis and at least a first link having a first end pivotally coupled with the chassis. At least a first non-powered wheel is operably coupled with the second opposing end of the first link. The first link has two operative positions: a first, fully-retracted operating configuration in which the first link is wrapped at least partially around the chassis crossing the drive wheel axis of rotation and a second, extended operating configuration in which the first link is pivoted away and extended from the chassis. A second link can be pivotally coupled between and with the chassis and first link. Forces acting on the toy vehicle resulting from driving the first drive wheel can cause each link to pivot with respect to the chassis.

Abstract: Electronic toy receives control information via an input interface and stores the received control information in memory. The electronic toy includes at least one sensor for detecting an external stimulus applied to the toy, and control information is read out from the memory in response to an external stimulus detection signal generated by the sensor so that the electronic toy is controlled to perform a predetermined operation in accordance with the read-out control information. It is possible to readily renew operations that can be performed by the electronic toy, by, for example, downloading desired control information from a server via a communication line and then storing the desired control information in an internal memory of the toy.

Abstract: A self-aligning tapping tool comprises an elongate handle having a longitudinal counterbore through a first end. A tap is received in the counterbore. A collar is operatively secured to the tap. The collar is slightly smaller than the counterbore to enable slidable movement and to prevent rotation of the tap relative to the handle. A retainer is secured to the handled at the first end to retain the collar in the counterbore and has a center opening receiving the tap. A biasing spring in the counterbore biases the tap and the collar outwardly to extend the tap when the handle is turned to thread a hole in a work piece.
Abstract: An adjustable deburring tool has a cutting head and a shank. The cutting head has a projecting ridge with a recessed portion. The shank has a groove that communicates with an open ended and open sided threaded bore. The ridge is slidably located in the groove with an adjusting screw screw-threaded in the threaded adjusting bore and partially located in the recessed portion of the ridge so that rotation of the adjusting screw causes lateral movement of the cutting head thereby adjusting the cutting diameter of the deburring tool.
