Abstract: A method of optimizing network processing in a system comprising a physical host and a set of physical network interface controllers (PNICs) is provided. The physical host includes a forwarding element. The method includes determining that a set of conditions is satisfied to bypass the forwarding element for exchanging packets between a particular data compute node (DCN) and a particular PNIC. The set of conditions includes the particular DCN being the only DCN connected to the forwarding element and the particular PNIC being the only PNIC connected to the forwarding element. The method exchanges packets between the particular DCN and the particular PNIC bypassing the forwarding element. The method determines that at least one condition in said set of conditions is not satisfied. The method utilizes the forwarding element to exchange packets between the particular DCN and the particular PNIC.

Abstract: An electronic device configured for electronic communications utilizing virtual dispersive networking includes: a network interface for communicating over a network; an application loaded onto the electronic device programmed to communicate over a network; and virtual dispersive networking software configured to create, for such application, a virtual machine comprising a virtual interface for the network interface of the electronic device; select a network protocol out of a plurality of available network protocols based on current communication requirements of the application; and cause network communications of the application to occur via the virtual network interface of the electronic device using the determined network protocol.
Abstract: Centralized hospital communication system and methods are provided for event monitoring and notification. In some embodiments, consistent with the present embodiments, a centralized hospital communication server is disclosed.
Abstract: A runtime state of a virtual port associated with a virtual machine (“VM”) is persisted as the VM is migrated from a source host to a destination host. In certain embodiments, a virtual switch forwards network frames between the VM and the physical network interface via the virtual port. During migration of the VM, the runtime state of the virtual port is transferred to the destination host and applied at the second host to a virtual port associated with a second virtual switch at the destination host. The runtime state of the virtual port at the source host is then cleared, and the second virtual switch at the destination host forwards network frames between the migrated VM and the physical network interface of the destination host using the virtual port at the second host.
Abstract: The present application provides a method and system for the operation of a management plane function to co-ordinate management of slice and slice-related resources within a communications network.
Abstract: A method and system for application-driven proactive multi-stratum resource monitoring in software defined networks (SDN). A Cross-Stratum Optimization (CSO) service orchestrator obtains a service intent, a notification subscription, and a programmable performance rule specified by an application. The CSO service orchestrator collects streaming performance data in a network based on the notification subscription, evaluates performance of the network using the collected data and the programmable performance rule, and allocates one or more of storage, computer, and network resources based on the evaluation to ensure quality of service for the application.

Abstract: A method includes determining that an agent configured an identified node of a computer system, obtaining a definition of the agent that configured the identified node, identifying a configuration item associated with the identified node based at least in part on the definition of the agent that configured the identified node, and updating a service model database with the identified configuration item.
Abstract: A method of enabling a Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP, DASH, player to fetch media segments from a network, wherein said method comprises the steps of receiving, by a DASH Aware Network Element, DANE, middleware, from said network, a manifest, wherein said manifest comprises a representation base Uniform Resource Identifier, URI, for indicating a location to said DASH player for fetching said media segments, a default representation base URI which is available in a default mode for fetching said media segments from a default content delivery network, CDN, a secondary representation base URI which is available in a secondary mode for fetching said media segments from a secondary CDN, transmitting, by said DANE middleware, said manifest to said DASH player, transmitting, by said DANE middleware, to said DASH player, a ManifestModificationCommand message, wherein said ManifestModificationCommand message comprises one or more representation base URI's of any of said default representation base URI and said
Abstract: A system and method for testing a control system is disclosed. The control system includes a field device located in one area and a controller located in a different area. A mobile application running on a mobile computing device is used by a technician to test the control system. Because both the mobile computing device and the controller are coupled to a cloud computing system, the technician may interface with the controller while located at the field device. This remote access to the controller allows a single technician to test the control system by interfacing with the controller and the field device simultaneously. In addition, the mobile application may retrieve data from the cloud computing system to facilitate testing and may transmit test results to the cloud for storage. Others having access to the stored results may view the progress and results of the testing.
Abstract: Activities within a network environment are monitored (e.g., using agents). At least a portion of the monitored activities are used to generate a logical graph model. The generated logical graph model is used to determine an anomaly. The detected anomaly is recorded and can be used to generate an alert.

Abstract: A method for network communications from a first device to a second device includes communicating data from the first device to the second device by spawning a first virtual machine for a first network connection that virtualizes network capabilities of the electronic device, and using the virtualized network capabilities of the first virtual machine, transmitting a plurality of packets for communication to a first network address and port combination associated with the second device. The method further includes repeatedly changing to a respective another network address and port combination by repeatedly spawning a respective another virtual machine for a respective another network connection that virtualizes network capabilities of the electronic device, and using the virtualized network capabilities of the spawned respective another virtual machine, transmitting a plurality of packets for communication to the respective another network address and port combination associated with the second device.
Abstract: A first control apparatus of multiple control apparatuses in a system, including a memory unit and a processor. The memory unit stores multiple management information managed by respective control apparatuses and multiple modification information indicating update statuses of respective management information. In response to receiving first modification information corresponding to first management information managed by the first control apparatus from a second control apparatus, the processor compares the received first modification information, with first modification information stored in the memory unit.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices of the various embodiments disclosed herein may provide a protocol and architecture for decentralization of content delivery. Various embodiments may provide a client based method for content delivery from content delivery networks (CDNs) via tiered caches of content hosted by Internet Service Providers (ISPs). In various embodiments, content delivery protocol (CDP) messages may enable clients to discover local cache network topologies and request content from a CDN based on a discovered local cache network topology. In various embodiments, security may be provided for the content delivery by the use of key encryption and/or file hashing.
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a packet analyzer to determine that a first virtualized server is preparing to migrate to a second virtualized server based on a data packet, a packet flow path generator to identify a set of network switches between the first virtualized server and the second virtualized server when the first virtualized server is in a different rackmount server than the second virtualized server, and a policy adjustor to adjust a policy of one or more network switches in the set to prioritize a packet flow corresponding to the migration.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium for request routing based on client location information are provided. A content delivery network service provider receives a DNS query from a client computing device. The DNS query corresponds to a resource identifier for requested content from the client computing device. The content delivery network service provider transmits an alternative resource identifier in response to the client computing device DNS query. The alternative resource identifier is selected as a function of client location information. The client location information is obtained from information corresponding to a mapping of at least partial IP addresses to known locations. The client computing device then issues a second DNS query to the same content delivery network service provider. The content delivery network service provider can then either resolve the second DNS query or transmit another alternative resource identifier.
