Abstract: An apparatus for positioning a patient during surgery includes a surgical table frame having a longitudinal dimension and a centerline, and at least one laterally movable support mounted thereon that includes longitudinal rails and transverse rails, and one or more modular body supports mounted on the surgical table frame. The laterally movable support includes a pair of platforms where one platform is laterally translatable relative to the other platform on a plurality of tracks between the platforms, the lateral translation being to one or both of the left and the right of the centerline.

Abstract: A convertible bed frame assembly is configured to support a mattress. The bed frame assembly incorporates first and second side-by-side rectangular bed platforms. Each bed platform has a horizontal support surface, opposing lateral ends, and opposing interior and exterior longitudinal sides. A removable center extension is configured to reside between the interior longitudinal sides of the side-by-side bed platforms and coplanar with respective horizontal support surfaces. When installed, the center extension functions to separate the side-by-side bed platforms thereby increasing the width of the bed frame assembly. When removed, the side-by-side bed platforms combine together to reduce the width of the bed frame assembly.

The hospital bed mattress may include bladders coupled to the pressure source. The bladders extend between the first and second ends and between the first and second sides and configured to provide pressure differential. The controller may be configured to pseudo-randomly adjust an internal pressure of each of the bladders.

Abstract: A bedding foundation has a linear actuator for moving a roller carriage forward and backwards. The roller carriage includes wheels which move along rails supported below a rigid platform having an opening extending through the platform. The roller carriage includes a lifter which raises and lowers a roller independently of the movement of the linear actuator. Regardless of the position of the linear actuator, the roller may be raised or lowered. The roller moves back and forth inside the opening extending through the rigid platform and imparts a massage movement to a mattress above the foundation.
