Abstract: A garment is intended to identify a danger situation for the user and react. The garment comprises an emergency device provided with sensors. Furthermore, the emergency device comprises an electronic processing unit and a supervisor and communication unit. The supervisor and communication unit, after being informed of the danger situation by the electronic processing unit, monitors the user by means of the sensors and assesses the level of user activity in order to decide or not to call for further assistance.

Abstract: A garment with insulated liner including a short pant attached to an insulated undergarment. The insulated undergarment is adapted to cover and fit closely to the body of a wearer to preserve an elevated temperature of the body of the wearer under the insulated undergarment. A pair of front seams are provided to secure the short pant to the insulated garment. The front seams extend from a waist area through a pelvic area to a crotch area to prevent the insulated undergarment from drastically shifting in turbulent water.

Abstract: A protective device for maintaining body temperature in a living being is provided. The inventive protective device comprises a first sheet member having a left portion and a right portion. The first sheet member has a left edge and a right edge. A first channel member defines structure defining a first channel. The first channel member defines structure which is secured to and overlies a first portion of the left portion of the first sheet member and overlies a first portion of the right portion of the first sheet member. A second channel defining structure defines a second channel, the second channel defining structure secured to and overlying a second portion of the left portion of the first sheet member and overlying a second portion of the right portion of the first sheet member. Each of the channels have a first side and an opposite side opposite the first side. A variable length member is disposed on and extends along the length of each of the channels.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing an article may include loading a soluble bobbin thread into an embroidery machine and then driving a needle thread through a base sheet with a needle of the embroidery machine according to a programmed first pattern that provides a series of loops of the needle thread extending outward from a bobbin side of the base sheet. The method may further include bonding the needle thread to a needle side of the base sheet opposite from the bobbin side. A spacer layer may be disposed at the bobbin side of the base sheet, and may be removed after the needle thread is bonded to the base sheet. The loops may be loops of a hook-and-loop fastener or ball control features in various articles manufactured according to the method.

Abstract: Mesh fabric panels that provide a compressive force to a wearer's mid-section and tummy-covering garments equipped with the mesh fabric panels are disclosed. The mesh fabric panels can be formed of a material having a suitable rigidity for providing the compressive force. The mesh fabric panels include left and right panels adapted to be stitched or otherwise affixed to left and right front sections, respectively, of a garment such as a pant, a dress, a skirt, shorts, swimwear, or the like. Each of the left and right mesh fabric panels includes a seam side edge adapted to be affixed to a corresponding seam side of a tummy-covering garment, a fly side edge adapted to be affixed to a fly facing of the garment, a waist edge, and a bottom edge. The left and/or right mesh fabric panel may be a dual layer panel.

The stitching may be formed from a chain stitch that passes through the holes. The holes may be formed from loops of knit fabric or other holes. Leather layers, polymer layers, fabric layers, and other structures with holes may be joined using the stitching. During fabrication, a layer of material with holes may be placed on an adjustable-shape fixture having a bed of needles. The shape of the bed of nails in the adjustable-shape fixture may then be changed. After the fixture has been used to transform the shape of one or more of the structures, the structures may be placed on needles in an assembly fixture and the stitching between the structures may be formed. The apparel thermo-regulatory system comprises an apparel item, a dimensionally stable frame comprising at least one aperture that is affixed to an outer-facing surface of the apparel item at a predetermined location, an absorbent material applied to an exposed face of the dimensionally stable frame, and at least one thermoelectric module that is releasably positioned within the aperture of the dimensionally stable frame.

Abstract: A therapeutic garment for cooling an arm of a user includes a vest that is configured to position over a torso of the user. A sleeve is coupled to and extends from a circumference of an armhole of the vest so that the sleeve is configured to insert the arm of the user. The sleeve comprises an inner layer that is coupled to an outer layer so that the inner layer and the outer layer define an interior space. The interior space extends from a cuff of the sleeve to the armhole. An orifice is positioned in the outer layer proximate to the armhole. The orifice is configured to selectively insert a cooling material into the interior space, positioning the cooling material to cool the arm of the user. A closure is coupled to the outer layer proximate to the orifice and is positioned to selectively and sealably close the orifice.

Abstract: Apparatus, systems and methods related to convertible garments for multiple uses. In one illustrative embodiment, one exemplary convertible garment may include a multilayered textile body having a central opening, which can be arranged in a first conformation to serve as an insulated jacket or poncho that features a hood disposed at the central opening, and, may include hand-warming and security pockets and a yoke with a closeable recess. Such a convertible garment can be arranged in a second conformation to serve as an insulated ground cloth and reversed to serve as a protective cover or blanket. The garment may feature an attached storage pouch that is stowed in the yoke recess in the first and second conformations. In a third conformation, the garment may be folded and stowed in the storage pouch to serve as a vented cushion.

Abstract: A diaper cover to prevent access to diaper contents by the wearer. The diaper cover has tight fitting closures around each leg of the user and a rear-access waist adjustment system. The waist adjustment system can utilize a belt type system with Velcro or a buckle, although other similar systems can be used. Access to the waist adjustment system by the wearer is prevented by using a flap that is secured in place over the adjustment system by attachment devices, such as buttons or snaps.
