  • Patent number: 11495059
Abstract: Disclosed are devices, systems and methods for managing parking monitoring and enforcement. Parking at a meter or in a parking lot or ramp can be provided as a subscription. A registration and verification process for the subscription service can be provided as a multi-step process that combines the smart parking meter with a QR code, a mobile parking app for a smartphone, a central parking management system, and digital images of the parked vehicle(s). The registration process verifies that only vehicles owned by the subscriber are associated with the subscriber's account. Steps can also be employed to ensure that subscribers are not incorrectly issued parking citations by determining whether license plate data for a vehicle initially determined to be in violation matches an active subscription parker's roster of registered vehicles.

  • Patent number: 11493904
Abstract: A system includes an electrical enclosure, an industrial automation component disposed within the electrical enclosure, in which the industrial automation component is configured to receive external power from an external power source to perform an operation, a display configured to maintain presentation of image data in absence of the external power being received by the industrial automation component from the external power source, and a control system communicatively coupled to the industrial automation component and to the display. The control system is configured to perform operations that include receiving an indication that the external power is within a range of a threshold, in which the threshold is associated with an insufficient amount of power for the industrial automation component to operate, identifying an error associated with the industrial automation component in response to receiving the indication, and causing the display to render image data indicative of the error.

  • Patent number: 11475742
Abstract: A system for determining whether shoppers are eligible for frictionless checkout is disclosed. The system has a processor that obtains image data captured using image sensors positioned in a retail store. The processor analyzes the image data to identify at least one shopper at one or more locations of the retail store. The processor detects, based on the analysis of the image data, at least one product interaction event associated with an action of the at least one shopper at the one or more locations of the retail store. Further, based on the detected at least one product interaction event, the processor determines whether the at least one shopper is eligible for frictionless checkout. In response to a determination that the at least one shopper is ineligible for frictionless checkout, the processor causes delivery of an indicator that the at least one shopper is ineligible for frictionless checkout.

  • Patent number: 11461566
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting an event within a monitored area are provided. A transmitter emits an RF interrogation signal into the monitored area. An RF target positioned within the monitored area reflects the interrogation signal as a target signal when the interrogation signal impinges on the RF target. The RF target has a switch actuatable by a user between a switch-state in which the RF target operates in a first reflective state, and a switch-state in which the RF target operates in a second reflective state. A receiver receives the target signal from the RF target. Based on the target signal received by the receiver, a processor can detect an indication of the reflective state in which the RF target is operating. The processor triggers an action in response to the indication of the reflective state in which the RF target is operating.

  • Patent number: 11449698
Abstract: An automatic object identification scanner is equipped with recognition units that provide detection results for objects and a controller that resolves potential conflicts in the results. One form of recognition unit detects product identifiers and flags in a digital payload that is encoded redundantly across packaging or labels applied to packaging. The controller gets detection results and evaluates them relative to a state data structure, which maintains state for identifiers obtained within a time interval, such as a timeout interval or waiting period after a detection result. Identifiers are reported to a POS system depending on logic that evaluates code priority and pending waiting periods.
