Patent number: 9454724Abstract: A membrane is formed from a release liner upon which a plurality of labels and a margin sheet are attached. Each label is a flexible planar body, including a display surface on a top side and an electronic circuit on a bottom side. A first adhesive coating is applied to the bottom of the flexible planar body, allowing the label to be temporarily adhered to the release liner. An antenna is joined to the electronic circuit and connected to the flexible planar body. The electronic circuit itself enables item identification, such as through Radio-Frequency Identification or Electronic Article Surveillance. In order to provide visual information, a primary printed graphic can be applied to each of the labels, while a supplementary printed graphic can be applied to the margin sheet. The plurality of labels can be arranged in different arrays, such as a plurality of rows or a tessellated pattern.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2015Date of Patent: September 27, 2016Inventor: Bong J. Patent number: 9412107Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for screening transactions. Transactions stored in a transaction database may provide a statistical basis for determining a probability of fraud for a pending transaction. The cost of fraud may be determined for each of a plurality of possible actions based on the probability of fraud, and the action that provides the lowest cost of fraud chosen. A cumulative cost of fraud may be determined for a set of transactions in the database. If taking the action with the lowest cost of fraud for the transaction would result in a higher cumulative cost of fraud, an action having the higher cost of fraud for the transaction may be chosen. The transaction may be added to the database, and the probability of fraud adjusted based on an amount of time since acceptance of the transaction. The statistical basis may be optimized based on a cost error.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2014Date of Patent: August 9, 2016Assignee: AMADEUS S.A.S.Inventors: Laure Canis, Cedric Florimond, Thibaud Andrevon

Patent number: 9400906Abstract: Machine-readable symbol readers and/or scan engines may subtractively impose an aiming pattern on an illumination field produced by a source of light or illumination. An optical component with a mask or filter are interposed in an optical path extending outwardly from the source of light or illumination. The mask or filter may have a defined shape or configuration to subtractively produce an aiming pattern with a desired shape or configuration. The mask or filter may, or may not, be wavelength selective or spectral. A wavelength selective mask or filter may produce an aiming pattern of a defined color, different from a color of an illumination field. Such may eliminate the need for a separate, distinct source of light or illumination for an aiming beam subsystem. The described structures and methods may reduce size, reduce parts count, and/or simplify manufacture.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2014Date of Patent: July 26, 2016Assignee: Intermec IP Corp.Inventors: Serge Thuries, Alain Gillet
