  • Patent number: 10009446
Abstract: One embodiment provides a system in a first node that facilitates efficient packet forwarding. During operation, the system identifies a type, length, and value (TLV) string in a packet and, in response, generates a compressed representation of the TLV string. The system stores the compressed representation for the TLV string in an entry of a learned dictionary in a storage device of the first node. The system then sends the entry to a second node and, in response, receives an acknowledgement from the second node. If the system identifies the TLV string in a subsequent second packet of the acknowledgement, the system compresses the TLV string in the second packet based on the compressed representation.

Abstract: A routing loop determining method and a device. The method includes: acquiring, by a forwarding device in a layer 3 network, a first packet, where a time to live (TTL) value of the first packet is reduced to 0 by the forwarding device; acquiring, by the forwarding device, a second packet whose destination Internet Protocol IP address is the same as that of the first packet; recording, by the forwarding device, a feature of the second packet; forwarding, by the forwarding device, the second packet; and acquiring, by the forwarding device, a third packet according to the feature of the second packet, where a feature of the third packet is the same as that of the second packet, and determining that a routing loop exists. The present disclosure resolves a problem that a loop in a layer 3 network cannot be detected, and improves accuracy of sending a packet.

  • Patent number: 9992756
Abstract: Methods and apparatus which allow a wireless terminal (302) to simultaneously maintain connections with multiple base stations (304, 306) are described. Each wireless terminal (302) is capable of supporting multiple separate timing and/or other control loops one, for each base station connection thereby allowing the connections to operate independently and in parallel. Different control signals and/or data are transmitted on each connection that is established with a base station (302, 306). In this manner base stations (302, 306) receive different data allowing for asynchronous data transmission. The data received by the base stations (302, 306) can be supplied to a wired asynchronous network (308) without the need to combine the received data prior to supplying it to the wired network (308). The communications techniques of the invention can be used to implement soft handoffs without the need to duplicate data transmissions to multiple base stations.

  • Patent number: 9979619
Abstract: In one embodiment, a device in a network performs a first comparison between observed and expected packet error rates for a first path in the network. The device identifies one or more intersecting paths in the network that intersect the first path. • Patent number: 9961170
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are disclosed that may allow a wireless device to process an Ethertype data packet encapsulated in a frame based on whether the frame contains an Ethertype Packet Discrimination (EPD) indicator. The wireless device may receive the frame from another wireless device over a wireless network, and may detect a presence of the EPD indicator in the received frame. Then, the wireless device may identify a protocol type of the Ethertype data packet according to an EPD operation based on the presence of the EPD indicator, or may identify the protocol type of the Ethertype data packet according to an LPD operation based on an absence of the EPD indicator.

  • Patent number: 9949292
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described contention-based channel access procedures that may enhance efficiency in communications using unlicensed spectrum. A time period may be identified during which base stations perform contention-based downlink channel access procedures for access to a channel in an unlicensed spectrum. The base stations may be coordinated such that different base stations may seek channel access during different time intervals during the time period. Contention-based uplink channel access procedures for UEs may then be modified to favor one or more UEs that are associated with a base station that has won channel access.

  • Patent number: 9942285
Abstract: Techniques described herein may be used to enable a user to have a call transferred between user devices regardless of how the user devices are connected to a wireless telecommunications network. For example, a user may register a first and second user device for a service that allows calls to be transferred between the user devices. A server may detect a call involving the first user device and may identify the second user device based on the prior registration. The server may detect a type of connection between the second user device and the wireless telecommunications network and may notify the second user device of the call based on the type of connection detected. In response to the notification, the user may request that the call be transferred to the second user device, and the server may cause the call to be transferred accordingly.

  • Patent number: 9935895
Abstract: Some embodiments of the present application relate to the field of gateways for internet access, associated video service decoders and the methods for broadcasting video content by an operator through such a gateway intended for such a decoder. A virtual MAC address is dedicated to VOD on the decoder. This address is then recognized by the gateway. The gateway implements a direct circuit directly directing the traffic related to this virtual address between the interface for accessing the communications network and the gateway physical port to which the decoder is connected. Advantageously, the circuit is dynamically configured by intercepting the DHCP request used to configure this virtual address.

  • Patent number: 9912786
Abstract: A demodulation section demodulates a received signal. A decoding section decodes an output from the demodulation section. A buffer temporarily stores a portion of the received signal. A header analyzing section gives the buffer timing at which demodulation and decoding of a payload of the received signal are initiated, on the basis of a result of combination of a plurality of header sequences included in a header of the received signal and results of processing of the demodulation section and the decoding section. An improved SNR is achieved by means of combination of the plurality of header sequences, so that an iterative decoding count used for decoding the header become smaller.
