  • Patent number: 9847864
Abstract: A method for UL control signaling for carrier aggregation, CoMP and/or eICIC is disclosed. The method includes determining whether multiple FB (such as, a plurality of FB each for one channel of a multiple of channels, a plurality of FB regarding one channel (CSI, A/N, etc.), etc. for example) is to be simultaneously transmitted. The multiple FB are related to at least one CA, CoMP and/or eICIC transmission. A RS resource for an UL control signal message is selected. The RS resource includes an indication that the multiple FB is present in the UL control signal message. The method jointly encodes the multiple FB. The UL control signal message including the indication and the jointly encoded multiple FB is transmitted from a UE to a network element. Apparatus and computer readable media are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9843482
Abstract: A method is provided in one example embodiment and includes calculating a packet metric for a first one of a plurality of links connected to a network element, wherein the packet metric is equal to a packet count over a period of time T divided by a maximum throughput of the first one of the links; and determining based on the packet metric whether traffic on the one of the links should be switched to another one of the plurality of links to optimize power usage. If a determination is made that the traffic on the first one of the links should be switched to another one of the plurality of links, the method further includes selecting a second link from a subset of the plurality of links; assigning the traffic to the selected second link; and applying a cost saving measure at an interface of the network element to which the first link is connected.

  • Patent number: 9825752
Abstract: In some aspects, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for in-band full-duplex operation. A first device transmits a frame to a second device wirelessly within a first frequency band, in one or more embodiments. In one or more embodiments, the first device detects, while the transmission of the frame is ongoing, feedback from the second device within the first frequency band. In one or more embodiments, the feedback is in response to the ongoing transmission of the frame. In one or more embodiments, the first device determines, responsive to the feedback, whether to stop the ongoing transmission of the frame or to update a transmission parameter for the ongoing transmission within the first frequency band.

  • Patent number: 9825678
Abstract: A method for selecting members of a client uplink group is described. An uplink traffic characteristic information signal is received from each of a plurality of communication devices. Multiple communication devices of the plurality of communication devices are selected as members of a client uplink group based at least on traffic information indicated by the respective uplink traffic characteristic information signals. An uplink group definition frame is transmitted to each member of the client uplink group. The uplink group definition frame indicates an uplink multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) transmission schedule for the client uplink group for members of the client uplink group to simultaneously transmit to an access point. • Patent number: 9825665
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an apparatus and method for cancelling self-interference caused by full-duplex communication. In a full-duplex communication device, the receiver will generally experience significant self-interference from the full-duplex communication device's own transmitter transmitting a strong outbound signal over the same channel that the receiver is to receive a weak inbound signal. The apparatus and method are configured to adjust a phase and gain of the outbound signal provided at the output of a power amplifier (PA) and inject the phase and gain adjusted outbound signal at the input of a low-noise amplifier (LNA) to cancel the interference from the outbound signal in the inbound signal.

  • Patent number: 9788029
Abstract: Switched digital television programming for video-on-demand and other interactive television services are combined utilizing a class-based, multi-dimensional decision logic to simultaneously optimize video quality and audio uniformity while minimizing latency during user interactions with the system over managed networks such as cable and satellite television networks. A group of user sessions are assigned to a single modulator. The user sessions include data in a plurality of classes, each class having a respective priority. In response to a determination that an aggregate bandwidth of the group of user sessions for a first frame time exceeds a specified budget, bandwidth is allocated for the group of user sessions during the first frame time in accordance with the class priorities. The group of user sessions is multiplexed onto a channel corresponding to the modulator in accordance with the allocated bandwidth and transmitted over a managed network.

  • Patent number: 9729527
Abstract: A packet processor provides for rule matching of packets in a network architecture. The packet processor includes a lookup cluster complex having a number of lookup engines and respective on-chip memory units. The on-chip memory stores rules for matching against packet data. A lookup front-end receives lookup requests from a host, and processes these lookup requests to generate key requests for forwarding to the lookup engines. As a result of the rule matching, the lookup engine returns a response message indicating whether a match is found. The lookup front-end further processes the response message and provides a corresponding response to the host.
