Abstract: A softphone application is provided that facilitates device switching between devices twinned therewith. In an aspect, a first device employing the softphone application generates a request to switch a media session between a second device and a third device to be between the first device and the third device and the softphone application sends, the request to an application server device associated with a cellular service provider identity. The request comprises a first identifier for the first device, a second identifier for the second device, and a device switch indicator. The request is configured to initiate a switch of the media session to being between the first device and the third device based on a determination that the first device and the second device are associated with a common mobile subscriber identity registered for an account associated with the cellular service provider identity.

  • Patent number: 9691077
Abstract: An award system associated with a telephony communications system analyzes one or more users' telephony activity to determine if the telephony activity satisfies certain predetermined award rules. If a single user's telephony activity satisfies one or more award rules, the system makes an award to the user. The making of an award can include posting the award on a social networking site with which the user is associated. The analysis can also include collecting information about a predetermined type of telephony activity for multiple users of the system, and determining which of the multiple users has experienced the most of the predetermined type of telephony activity. An award is then granted to those users who experienced the most of the predetermined type of telephony activity.

  • Patent number: 9681445
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a technique for radio link monitoring in a wireless communication system, and to operation procedures of the base station and user equipment and a method for radio link quality evaluation on the basis of the technique. In the method, the user equipment divides the downlink channel bandwidth into multiple frequency ranges, measures channel states for each frequency range, and evaluates the radio link quality based on channel state measurement results. Thereafter, the user equipment sends frequency range quality information to the base station, which may then utilize the same for downlink resource allocation. Hence, it is possible to solve the problem of the existing scheme wherein the user equipment enters the physical layer problem detection state or the radio link failure state although a frequency range usable for service provisioning is present within the downlink channel bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 9648575
Abstract: The present invention addresses challenges associated with making timing measurements involving multifarious radio links. Such measurements are referred to herein as “enhanced” to connote that such timing determinations are being made across multifarious radio links. A radio link will be understood as connecting two radio nodes, and two radio links are considered to be multifarious with respect to each other if they are opposite in terms of uplink and downlink transmit directions, and further if they are associated with different cell identifiers and/or if the two links are between different pairs of radio nodes. The sharing of “enhanced timing measurement” capability information, e.g., between radio nodes and positioning nodes is disclosed. Such information indicates the enhanced timing measurement capability of a radio node. Sharing such information enables another node to determine an enhanced timing measurement configuration to be used by a radio node.

  • Patent number: 9578611
Abstract: The invention operates as a base station and preferably suppresses interference between cells in a downlink to a terminal in a range expansion area, under a radio communication environment in which cells in different sizes are layered. PDCCH parts which are respectively used by a Macro eNodeB and a Pico eNodeB are separated by a search space so that all information in the PDCCH can be protected from losing due to interference. Since a user equipment can maintain a control signal in the PDSCH part, a signal in the PDSCH can be output from an eNodeB and this improves the throughput.
