  • Patent number: 9203496
Abstract: A communication system is provided that switches the communication of multi-antenna transmitter and receiver terminals between MIMO and frequency-bundle modes. In MIMO mode all transmitter and receiver antennas operate in the same frequency channel while in frequency-bundle mode each pair of one transmitter antenna and one receiver antenna is tuned to a different frequency channel. The communication system includes one or more control modules that collect, analyze, and apply configurations to the terminals and switch the operation of one or more transmit/receive terminal pairs between the MIMO and frequency-bundle modes based on the collected information and metrics.

  • Patent number: 9191902
Abstract: In a radio communication system in which a mobile station device and a base station device communicate with each other, power of a signal from the mobile station device to the base station device is efficiently controlled. When a finally received DCI format for PUSCH is a DCI format 0 or a DCI format 4 in which two transport blocks are enabled, a scheduling unit (1013) notifies, to a transmission power control unit (1015), that ?power-offset is 0. When the finally received DCI format for PUSCH is a DCI format 4 in which one of the transport blocks is disabled, the scheduling unit (1013) notifies, to the transmission power control unit (1015), ?power-offset that is decided from a value set in a New data indicator field for the disabled transport block.

  • Patent number: 9185670
Abstract: In its various aspects, the present invention addresses the many challenges associated with making timing measurements involving multifarious radio links. Such measurements are referred to herein as “enhanced” to connote that such timing determinations are being made across multifarious radio links. Here, a radio link will be understood as connecting two radio nodes, and two radio links are considered to be multifarious with respect to each other if they are opposite in terms of uplink and downlink transmit directions, and further if they are associated with different cell identifiers and/or if the two links are between different pairs of radio nodes. In this context, the teachings herein disclose the sharing of “enhanced timing measurement” capability information, e.g., between radio nodes and positioning nodes. Such information indicates the enhanced timing measurement capability of a radio node. Sharing such information enables another node, e.g.

  • Patent number: 9172576
Abstract: An FFT processing unit performs an FFT process on an OFDM signal received by a reception unit. Based on an output signal of the FFT processing unit, an interference wave level acquisition unit obtains a signal level of an interference wave in a unit radio resource not used by the base station with respect to each of a plurality of candidate timings for the reference timing in the base station. A reference timing adjustment unit determines a new timing of the reference timing from the plurality of candidate timings based on the signal level of the interference wave obtained by the interference wave level acquisition unit.

  • Patent number: 9112869
Abstract: A method of enabling extension of a network service of a first domain to a remote customer site hosted by an Access Gateway (AG) in a Provider Ethernet domain. In the first domain, the remote customer site is represented as being hosted by a border gateway (BG) connected to the Provider Ethernet domain, such that subscriber packets associated with the network service are forwarded to or from the remote customer site via the BG. In the Provider Ethernet domain, a trunk connection is instantiated through the Provider Ethernet domain between the host AG and the BG. A trunk cross-connection function is installed in the host AG, for transferring subscriber packets associated with the network service between a respective attachment virtual circuit (AVC) through which the remote customer site is connected to the host AG and an extended AVC tunnelled through the trunk connection.

  • Patent number: 9100217
Abstract: Apparatus, systems and methods for receiving one or more input signals and providing output signals in various video, audio, data and mixed formats are described. One or more input processors receive the input signals. Each of the input processors provides one or more packetized signals corresponding to one or more of the input signals received at the input processor. Each output processor can receive one or more packetized signals and generate one or more output signals. The output signals correspond to one or more of the input signals, additional locally generated signals or data relating to the signals or any combination of such signals. Use of a packet router according to the invention allows input signals encoded as one set of packetized signals to be recombined to provide additional packetized signals incorporating the same or different combinations of the packetized signals.

  • Patent number: 9094095
Abstract: In a CDMA system (100), two chip rates in a TDD cell are supported by: transmitting signals in the system in a frame (400) having a plurality of timeslots; operating at least a first one (0-8) of the plurality of timeslots in the frame at a lower chip rate; and operating at least a second one (9-14) of the plurality of timeslots in the frame at a higher chip rate. This provides the following advantages: provides backwards compatibility of a network including higher chip rate functionality with existing lower chip rate user equipment; allows greater network capacity during the transition phase from a low chip rate network to a high chip rate network; and allows a network operator with a high chip rate network to provide service to roaming users from low chip rate networks.
