  • Patent number: 8970740
Abstract: A mechanism for reconstructing sub-images based on measurement data acquired by an imaging system including an array of light modulating elements and an array of photodetectors. Each sub-image is reconstructed based on samples from a respective photodetector and a respective set of measurement patterns defined on a respective virtual sub-region on the modulating array. Each virtual sub-region is configured to include at least the light modulating elements that are able to send a non-trivial amount of light to the respective photodetector during a pattern application period. The virtual sub-regions overlap because many light modulating elements are capable of sending light to more than one photodetector. Whenever a measurement pattern of one virtual sub-region overlaps the measurement pattern of a neighboring virtual sub-region, the two measurement patterns agree by design. Thus, the measurement patterns for the collection of virtual sub-regions combine to form a pattern on the whole modulating array.

  • Patent number: 8953082
Abstract: A camera system that transfers static image data while reducing power consumption is provided. A static image application issues a frame transfer command at a certain transfer period to a camera module. In each transfer period, the camera module wakes up from a suspend state and generates static image data. After the end of the transfer, the camera module transitions to the suspend state. The camera module is able to transition to the suspend state at each transfer period and thus is able to reduce power consumption.

  • Patent number: 8947586
Abstract: A diaphragm control apparatus of an interchangeable lens camera includes a photographing lens, a diaphragm control slider which is driven between first and second control ends corresponding to maximum and minimum apertures, a position detector, and a controller which drives the diaphragm control slider toward the first control end at high-speed, stores in a memory, as a temporary origin, a position to which the diaphragm control slider has rebounded after reaching the first control end. Thereafter, the controller compares the current position of the diaphragm control slider with the temporary origin while driving the diaphragm control slider at a low-speed towards the first control end. When the current position is within a predetermined range of the temporary origin, the controller determines the current position as the origin of the diaphragm control slider.

  • Patent number: 8928792
Abstract: The invention describes a solid-state CMOS image sensor array and discloses image sensor array pixels with global and rolling shutter capabilities that utilize multiple BCMD transistors for a single photodiode, for charge storage and sensing. Thus, the valuable pixel area saved by employing the BCMD transistor for charge storage and sensing is used by placing several BCMD transistors coupled to one photodiode. This increases the Dynamic Range (DR) of the sensor, since the same photodiode can integrate charge for different integration times, both long and short. This allows sensing of two different image signals from a single pixel without saturation, a low level signal with long integration time followed by a high level signal with short integration time. The signal processing circuits located at the periphery of the array can then process these signals into a single Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) output.
