Abstract: Methods and systems for interacting with graphical user interface elements to invoke commands and initiate requests in a multi-device environment are described.

Abstract: A user viewing an online content item using an online content client application can, from within that application, launch an operating application to operate on the content item. The operating application can interact with the online content management provider to obtain a current copy of the content item and to save a modified content item back to the online content management service, e.g., if the user instructs the operating application to save the item. Interactions between the client application, the operating application and the online content management service can occur without requiring the user to manually initiate upload or download of any content items. Operations on an online content item can also be initiated from within an operating application.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for playing data, played in a device connected with a portable terminal, in another device are provided. An apparatus for storing data of a peripheral device in a portable terminal includes a user interface (UI) managing unit and a data processing unit. The UI managing unit is configured to display, in the event of connection with a peripheral device, a UI for controlling data played in the peripheral device. The data processing unit is configured to copy the played data of the peripheral device through the UI and display a list of the copied data. The data processing unit is further configured to transmit data selected from the displayed list to another device.

Abstract: An apparatus and method support intuitive gestures for turning electronic book (e-book) pages in a portable terminal. The portable terminal executes an e-book and determines whether a just preceding page gesture is input, the just preceding page gesture comprising a first contact that starts to the left of a right-side user interface (UI) activation region of the e-book, followed by a drag toward the right while maintaining the first contact and releasing the first contact. When the just preceding page gesture is input, the just preceding page is displayed on a screen.

Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a method is performed at an electronic device. The device displays a first user interface including a background with a first appearance and foreground objects. While displaying the first user interface, the device detects a first input while a first focus selector is at a location in the first user interface that corresponds to the background of the first user interface. In response, if the contact has a characteristic intensity above a first intensity threshold, the device dynamically changes the background without changing the foreground objects, wherein the dynamic change in the background is based on the characteristic intensity of the contact. While dynamically changing the background, detecting termination of the first input; and, in response, the device reverts the background back to the first appearance of the background.

Abstract: There is provided a display control device including a display control unit that superimposes and displays a sub-screen in which a partial image displayed in a partial region of an input image displayed on a display unit is enlarged and displayed on the input image in a manner that the sub-screen does not overlap with the partial region.

Abstract: A computer program for rendering a magnified graphic user interface (GUI) establishes an initial magnification level for the graphic user interface and the pointing indicia. The GUI and the pointing indicia are magnified in synchronization until the magnification convergence point is reached. At magnification levels above the convergence point, magnification of the GUI and the pointing indicia becomes decoupled, and only GUI is magnified while the pointing indicia remain at the convergence magnification level. If the GUI magnification level falls below the convergence point, the magnification of GUI and the pointing indicia is recoupled and magnification becomes synchronized. Floor and ceiling magnification values for the pointing indicia may also be established.

Abstract: Various embodiments for switching functionality of a graphical user interface (GUI) pointer input device are provided. A first gesture pattern is configured. The first gesture pattern, when performed, enables a predetermined function of the input device. The predetermined function substitutes for a default function of the input device. The enabling of the predetermined function is indicated to a user on the GUI. A second gesture pattern is configured. The second gesture pattern, when performed, cancels the predetermined function of the input device and enables the default function.

Abstract: A volume adjustment device includes a display section, touch panel, and a controller which displays a slide bar including a knob, receives a movement goal position of the knob, adjusts volume of an audio signal to volume value corresponding to a position of the knob, moves the knob with a moving speed of the target of which the movement is received within a normal area in case that it receives movement of the target into a limit area in which the knob cannot move to not less than lower limit over the normal area in which the knob can move freely, and moves the knob and the lower limit of the limit area from the lower limit of the limit area to the target with the same predetermined speed as expansion speed of the limit area while it expands the normal area toward the limit area side.

Abstract: In one mode of an interface, a bounded area is displayed on a mobile device. A straight line is displayed that divides the bounded area into first and second areas. An angle of the line indicates an orientation of a first axis of the mobile device relative to a respective vector. In response to detecting the change in orientation of the second axis of the device relative to the vector, while maintaining the angle of the line at a first angle, a relative size of the first and second areas is changed in accordance with the change in orientation of the second axis. In a second mode, first and second bounded shapes are displayed. Positions of the bounded shapes with respect to each other are changed along one or more axes in response to a change in orientation of a surface of the mobile device relative to a respective vector.

Abstract: Shared workspaces with selective content item synchronization. In one embodiment, for example, a method performed at a personal computing device comprises: displaying an actionable shared workspace launcher icon for a shared workspace accessible by a user account held with a content management system; downloading metadata pertaining to the shared workspace from the content management system; downloading one or more content item blocks for a particular content item belonging to the shared workspace from a content item server of the content management system; storing the one or more content item blocks at the personal computing device; and responsive to an activation of an actionable file system icon corresponding to the particular content item, updating display of the corresponding actionable file system icon for the particular content item to indicate that the particular content item is currently configured for offline access.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a system and method for handling an interaction via an end user device. The end user device receives context data related to the interaction over a data channel, and displays the context data and a list of media channels available for handling the interaction. A user selection of one of the media channels in the list is received. The interaction is received over the selected media channel. Embodiments of the present invention are also directed to a system and method for handling an interaction via an end user device. An agent is identified as being logged-in, and in response, each of a plurality of media channels associated with the user is monitored for determining presence of the agent on each of the plurality of media channels.

Abstract: Techniques include displaying, at a user device, a user-selectable link associated with a search result that specifies a state of a software application (app). The state is associated with one or more entities (e.g., business, franchise, product, or service names, and/or geographic locations). The link is configured to, upon being selected, cause the device to set the software app into the state. The techniques further include receiving, at the device, an input from a user. The input specifies a mathematical operation to be performed based on the entities. The techniques include, in response to receiving the input, performing the operation. The techniques also include, in response to performing the operation, displaying another user-selectable link configured to, upon being selected, cause the device to set the same or a different software app into another state that is associated with at least one of the entities.

Abstract: A communication terminal includes a display control unit configured to display, on a display unit, a function selecting screen that contains a first icon for receiving a selection of a first communication function and a second icon for receiving a selection of a second communication function. The first communication function is to provide communication using a signaling protocol for connecting to or disconnecting from a destination of communication and an encoding protocol for encapsulating communication data in IP packets. The second communication function is to provide communication using the same signaling protocol and a different encoding protocol. The communication terminal also includes a receiving unit configured to receive a selection of the first icon or the second icon; and a starting unit configured to start the first communication function and the second communication function in response to the selection of the first icon and the second icon, respectively.

Abstract: Systems and methods for menuless application navigation are provided. In example embodiments, a first user input received via an interface of the device is detected. It is determined that the first user input is within an input region on the interface of the device. In response to determining that the first user input is within the input region, the first user input is translated into a navigation action. A second user input received via the interface of the device is detected, and it is determined that the second user input is outside the input region on the interface of the device. In response to determining that the second user input is outside the input region, the user input is translated into a second action, which is different from the navigation action.

Abstract: A method of managing a usage history of a mobile terminal is provided. The method includes generating a reading number regarding an e-book that is read, storing the generated reading number, and displaying the stored reading number based on a user setup.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus and an operating method thereof and a computer readable storage medium are provided. The electronic apparatus with a touch screen display executes the following steps: a list of scrollable items on the touch screen display is displayed; a movement of an object on or near the touch screen display is detected; in response to an edge of the list being reached, one or more items in a first direction is moved to display one or more gaps, wherein each gap is between the adjacent items and no gap is formed outside of the edge of the list; and the one or more items in a second direction is moved until the one or more gaps are no longer displayed.

Abstract: A method to make website buttons more efficient at displaying content. Mathematical, tagging, and similar methods are used to find which web contents can be described by more than one description. The plurality of description are grouped together and presented in a single descriptive website button. Upon clicking of the descriptive-button, users are presented with list of web contents that specifically meet the plurality of descriptions listed on the website button.
