Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a gear-based user interface for display are disclosed. A user equipment device may generate for display a first gear shape, a second gear shape, and a third gear shape. The first gear shape comprises a first plurality of media identifiers, where a first media identifier of the first plurality is selected. The second gear shape comprises a second plurality of media identifiers that are representative of a group indicated by the selected first media identifier, where a second media identifier is selected. The third gear shape comprises a third plurality of options for a media asset indicated by the selected second media identifier. Upon input indicating that the first gear shape is to be rotated, the second gear shape is rotated with the first gear shape based on the rotation of the first gear shape.

Abstract: An entry adapter configured to communicate cable television (CATV) signals from a CATV network to one or more network devices and to communicate Multi-Media over Coaxial Alliance (MoCA) signals with a MoCA server, the entry adapter including one or more MoCA ports, and a signal combination device configured to direct the CATV signals toward one or more access ports without substantial attenuation, to substantially attenuate the CATV signals directed toward the one or more MoCA ports, to pass the MoCA signals from the one or more MoCA ports to the one or more access ports, and to pass the MoCA signals from the one or more access ports to the one or more MoCA ports.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method includes identifying a group of multiple content-presentation devices that are tuned to the same channel and that are each scheduled to perform, at a modification start-time, a respective content-modification operation that comprises modifying a modifiable content-segment in connection with an upcoming content-modification opportunity on the channel. The method also includes determining that, after the modification start-time, at least a subgroup of the group of content-presentation devices have detected a mismatch between reference fingerprint data representing the modifiable content-segment and query fingerprint data representing content received by at least the subgroup of content-presentation devices.

Abstract: Conventional television audience measurements are made with diaries or by imaging the area in front of a television and trying to identify the people in the images watching television. Unfortunately, diaries are only accurate if the audience members record entries in them, and image-based techniques are intrusive. The present techniques address these problems by using a viewer's wearable device to measure a viewer's proximity to a television. The wearable device emits or receives low-power beacon signals; measurements of the signal strength are used to calculate the viewer's distance to the television. If the viewer is close enough to the television and the television is on, the viewer may be engaged with the content on the television. This system is simple, non-intrusive, and can used to measure engagement with each television in a multi-television household.

Abstract: Systems and methods for bandwidth-limited video transport are configured to receive (or otherwise discern) a selection of video parameter limits that correspond to a bandwidth limit and apply the video parameter limits to an input video stream to enforce the bandwidth limit while preserving video quality. Methods may include adjusting the video stream one parameter at a time until the adjusted video stream meets the bandwidth limit. Parameters to be adjusted may include image resolution, frame rate, image compression, color depth, bits per pixel, and/or color encoding. In some embodiments, the image resolution is reduced first, the frame rate is reduced next, and the image compression is increased last. The extent and/or order of the adjustments of the parameters may be selected by the user, based on the content of the video stream, and/or based on the bandwidth limit.

Abstract: A system for interacting with a video includes a processor, a video decoder communicatively connected to the processor, a storage communicatively connected to the demultiplexer, the storage contains at least one video file having more than one video frame, at least one of the video frame including at least one respective metadata segment of the video frame, and an input device communicatively connected to the processor. The processor, responsive to the input device, processes the at least one of the video frame including the at least one respective metadata segment, controlling selection of another of the more than one video frame for the video decoder.

Abstract: A recommendation method includes retrieving content consumption data including content consumed and content not consumed. Based on the content consumption data, identifying a first piece of content not consumed. A first feature of the first piece of content related to negative consumption of the first piece of content is determined. A first system is used to revise the first feature to a second feature. A second piece of content including the second feature is provided to an electronic device. The second piece of content is a revised instance of the first piece of content.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to calibrate media ratings based on return path data are disclosed. An apparatus includes a processor and memory including instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to: determine an initial rating for the media provided in a first geographic area based on return path data (RPD) tuning information obtained from RPD devices in subscriber households in the first geographic area; determine a first panelist rating for the media provided in a second geographic area based on first panel tuning information obtained from first metering devices in a first subset of panelist households in the second geographic area; determine a nonsubscriber calibration factor based on the first panelist rating; and determine a final rating for the media in the first geographic area by modifying the initial rating based on the nonsubscriber calibration factor.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for a multi-video stream transmission to a client terminal. The systems and methods may include obtaining a multi-video stream including a plurality of video streams, each video stream including multiple key frames characterized by a frame rate and a key frame interval. The systems and methods may include determining a delay time of an initial key frame for each video stream based on a plurality of frame rates and a plurality of key frame intervals of the plurality of video streams. The systems and methods may further include processing the plurality of video streams to determine a desired sending time of the initial key frame in the corresponding video streams based on the delay time of the initial key frame in each video stream. The systems and methods may further include transmitting the plurality of processed video streams to the client terminal.

Abstract: A method for co-hosting in live streaming includes sending, in response to receiving a co-hosting request from a live streaming account, the co-hosting request to a target user account for co-hosting; and sending, in response to receiving co-hosting grant information from the target user account, a first live data stream and a second live data stream to a viewer account. The first live data stream corresponds to the target user account, the second live data stream corresponds to the live streaming account. The second live data stream is pushed by the live streaming account using a target live streaming tool, and the target live streaming tool is configured to push the second live data stream for the live streaming account and pull the first live data stream for the live streaming account.

Abstract: The presentation of an interactive video is dynamically modified based on a user profile. A first interactive video can be represented by a first video tree defining multiple branches in the first interactive video, with each branch having one or more video segments. Information is tracked including (i) the content of video segments played during presentation of the first interactive video and/or (ii) decisions of a user made during the presentation of the first interactive video. A user profile having measured attributes is generated based on the tracked information. The profile can then be used in dynamically modifying the presentation of a second interactive video.

Abstract: Approaches provide for processing a communications signal, such as a wideband communications signal. For example, a communications signal can be received at an access device, such as a cable modem or a wireless transceiver/radio. The access device can include components operable to process the communications signal to enable access to, for example, video, data, voice, high-speed Internet services. At least some of the components include an echo cancellation component among other components to cancel interference (e.g., ACI, ALI). For example, the echo cancellation component can use trained filters and samples of the upstream signal, echoed samples of the transmitted signal, feedback signals of the echoed signal, etc., to estimate one or more types of interference. Thereafter, the estimated interference can be used to cancel interference at the access device.
