Abstract: Disclosed is a web browser based content management application with an integrated user configurable content interface whereby a user can manage a wide variety of content using a single window. The user interface includes a “browser window in a browser window” that provides transparent access to a host of underlying applications that are configured to manage the user's interaction with a wide variety of content, including multimedia content delivered via the Internet. The windowing functionality of the content management application can be set to automatically reconfigure based on the number and type of content accessed. A continuously playing video player is configured to appear within a web page when a user browses to the first web page and to render video overlayed on the web page. The player is configured to play the same video stream continuously while a user browses from the web page to a second web page.

Abstract: A method performed by a mobile communications device, including: populating a central database on the device with a title for each of a plurality of software modules installed on the device and associating each title with its software module; populating the central database with at least one keyword associated with each of the plurality of software modules and associating each keyword with its software module; receiving at the device a search query; displaying at the device a search result identifying at least one of the software modules installed on the device having either a title or one or more associated keywords matching the search query; and in response to receiving at the device a selection of a software module identified in the search result, activating the selected software module.

Abstract: A device and method for securely rendering content on a gesture-enabled computing device includes initializing a secure execution environment on a processor graphics of the computing device. The computing device transfers view rendering code and associated state data to the secure execution environment. An initial view of the content is rendered by executing the view rendering code in the secure execution environment. A gesture is recognized, and an updated view of the content is rendered in the secure execution environment in response to the gesture. The gesture may include a touch gesture recognized on a touch screen, or a physical gesture of the user recognized by a camera. After the updated view of the content is rendered, the main processor of the computing device may receive updated view data from the secure execution environment.

Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling users to rapidly flip through displayed pages of content in an intuitive manner are provided. Graphical animations for transitioning from one page to another can be executed so that portions of three or more pages can be simultaneously viewed. This enables a user to make snap judgments as to whether she wishes to explore any one of those pages in more detail as she rapidly flips through the pages.

Abstract: A dual-screen user device and methods for revealing a combination of desktops on single and multiple screens are disclosed. A determined number of desktops and/or running applications can be selectively displayed on dual screen displays conditioned upon inputs received and the state of the device. Desktop displays and applications can be selectively shifted between the screens by user gestures, and can be moved off of the screens by other user gestures and therefore hidden. The hidden desktops and screens however can be re-displayed by yet another gesture. The desktops and applications are arranged in a window stack that represents a logical order of the desktops and applications allowing a user with an intuitive ability to manage multiple applications/desktops running simultaneously. Visual indicators can be used on the displayed applications and desktops enabling a user to maximize a display on multiple screens or to minimize them on a single selected screen.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes displaying a plurality of tiles on a user's computer screen, each of the tiles comprising shared data, and receiving new shared data and processing the new shared data to update the shared data displayed on the user's computer screen. The shared data is collected at a centralized device and distributed by the centralized device to the user, the centralized device operable to organize and transmit the shared data contained in one or more of the tiles to a plurality of users. An apparatus and logic are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for repositioning a cursor. One embodiment is a method implemented in a mobile device for repositioning a cursor. The method comprises displaying a user interface and receiving, by the mobile device via the user interface, an initial tap on the mobile device by a user. Based on the initial tap, an anchor is invoked for repositioning a cursor, wherein the location of the anchor corresponds to a location of the cursor. The method further comprises receiving an additional tap after the initial tap. Based on a location of the additional tap with respect to the anchor, the cursor is repositioned according to the additional tap. The method further comprises updating the user interface to reflect repositioning of the cursor.

Abstract: A method and system are disclosed in which a group of people are able to replicate the physical world experience of going with a group of friends to pick a movie, watch the movie together, and provide commentary on the movie itself in the virtual world on a virtual couch while each user is sitting in different physical locations. Additionally, the virtual representation of the destination that the group of people are watching the movie together in can be themed to allow users to watch movies in different locations pivoting on special events or by the users choice.

Abstract: A native application can be deployed that obtains configuration information for the native application at run-time. Digital marketing users or other marketing users can view or control the behavior of the native application by displaying or setting the configuration information of the native application. The native application can report tracked end user interactions and events with the native application according to the configuration information to tag management systems for data compilation by the tag management systems. In addition, the native application can enable digital marketing users or other marketing users to view or control the behavior of the native application from within the native application using an integrated configuration utility. The configuration utility can be activated using a two-stage activation process or an activation and authorization process to prevent an end user from accidentally encountering the configuration utility during routine use of the native application.

Abstract: Example embodiments relate to drag and drop application launches within a user interface (UI). In example embodiments, a command is received by which a UI object currently displayed in a window of a first application is dragged from the window and dropped onto a home screen of an operating system. A second application suitable for displaying an object type of the UI object is then identified. Finally, the second application is launched in a new window in response to the drop of the UI object on the home screen, such that the new window displays the UI object.

Abstract: This invention provides a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that operates in connection with a machine vision detector or other machine vision system, which provides a highly intuitive and industrial machine-like appearance and layout. The GUI includes a centralized image frame window surrounded by panes having buttons and specific interface components that the user employs in each step of a machine vision system set up and run procedure. One pane allows the user to view and manipulate a recorded filmstrip of image thumbnails taken in a sequence, and provides the filmstrip with specialized highlighting (colors or patterns) that indicate useful information about the underlying images. The programming of logic is performed using a programming window that includes a ladder logic arrangement.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, a content marking command is received from a mobile device at a particular time. For example, a user selection of the content marking command may be received via a user interface displayed on the mobile device. The content marking command may indicate a user interest in a particular moment of an event viewed by the user. Moreover, the event viewed by the user and video content data corresponding to the event may be identified. Further, content marking data may be generated, whether content marking data indicates a particular portion of the identified video content data corresponding to the particular moment of the event.

Abstract: Described is a poll-based networking system. The system provides an on-line network of friends that are determined through polling each of the users. This system polls a user with a variety of questions. After providing an answer to each question, the system compares, in real-time, the current user's responses with all other users' responses to identify those users that most similarly answered the questions to that of the current user. As the current user progressively answers additional questions, the system progressively updates the matching and presentation of similar users. As such, as the current user navigates the website by answering polling questions, the selected answers are compared against the selected answers of other users to generate a likelihood of match between the user and each of the other users. The user profiles of other users that have a likelihood of match within a predetermined threshold are then presented.

A device may display a dual screen application which is displayed across both screens. Depending upon which screen is used to launch (or reopen) an application, the dual screen application may be minimized to the other screen.

Abstract: A graphical user interface for rendering hosted services is provided. The user interface includes a set of hosted service identifiers associated with a domain name. The set of hosted service identifiers is further broken down into a first subset of service identifiers and a second subset of service identifiers. Each identifier in the first subset corresponds to a service provided by a first service provider and each identifier in the second subset corresponds to a service provided by a second service provider. One of the services provided by the first service provider is rendered in response to a user selection of one of the first subset of service identifiers. One of the services provided by the second service provider is rendered in response to a user selection of one of the second subset of service identifiers.
