Abstract: Techniques for electronic signature process management are described. Some embodiments provide an electronic signature service (“ESS”) configured to manage electronic signature processes represented by way of templates. In some embodiments, the ESS transmits a URL or other identifier of a template that specifies required electronic signature data, such as a singer name and/or signature. Then, the ESS dynamically prepares a form based on a received request for the identified template. Next, the ESS receives the electronic signature data by causing the form to be presented by a Web browser or other client. In some embodiments, the ESS and associated client systems perform these techniques without use of a Portable Document Format processing module.

Different properties can be selected when a soft-screen annotation is created in order to customize the annotation for each object.

Abstract: Generally described, embodiments of the present invention provide the ability to utilize dynamic thresholds and dynamic threshold values when generating variable formatting rules to be applied to a range of cells. Dynamic thresholds include, but are not limited to, “Highest Value,” “Middle Value,” “Lowest Value,” “Number,” “Percent,” “Percentile,” and “Formula.” When using a dynamic threshold, dynamic threshold values are determined based on values contained in a selected range of cells.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for generating and associating meta-data with a final form presentation datastream document where the meta-data is structured in accordance with the datastream component architectures. Meta-data objects (“MDOs”) are architected as components of a presentation document and thus are well defined to allow applications to reliably access and process the meta-data contained therein. The MDOs may be associated with other components of the document and are architected to be extensible and flexible while still adhering to an architectural structure. The MDOs may be descriptive (no affect in document presentation) or operational (affects document presentation if processed). Standard types of MDOs may include XML standard information, JDF standard information, PWG standard information, and digital signature information. A variety of standard categories further define typical meta-data forms and applications thereof.

Abstract: A method for supporting versions of a menu includes identifying menu items for an application. The menu items are in a first menu and have state data used by functions to perform operations. The method includes generating indices from the menu items, generating a first table that includes the indices and the functions, and generating a second table that includes a portion of the indices. The indices in the first table correspond to the functions, the portion defines a subset of menu items for a second menu, and the portion of the indices corresponds to a portion of the state data. When an operation is to be performed, an index for the subset of menu items is used to determine state data corresponding to the index in the second table, and the index is used to determine a function corresponding to the index in the first table.

Abstract: The invention provides, in some aspects, methods for electronic document distribution that permit automatic transmittal of a set of documents to one or more recipients. The set includes documents pre-existing at the time the distribution is specified, as well as at least one that is subsequently created. Such “mixed-mode” distribution can be used, for example, to effect automatic distribution of pre-existing word processing documents (or spreadsheets, etc.), along with a newly scanned document, e.g., a hand-written note. Distribution of the documents is triggered by creation of the latter document—in this example, the scanned hand-written note.

Abstract: A method of fixing a problem with a user interface includes receiving information about the page in an optimization server. The page includes a display element. The information is received from a client with a request for code. Source data of the user interface is received by the client from a server distinct from the optimization server. The method further includes determining that an element on the user interface is associated with a known problem and associated fix. The fix includes modification of the element. An expected conversion rate of the user interface with the modified element is higher than prior to the modification. The method also includes generating code for modifying the element in accordance with the fix and providing the code to the client. The client displays the user interface with the modified element based on the source. Modifying the element does not include modifying the source.

Data is aggregated from multiple data sources in response to the request, and data is marshalled based at least in part on a data contract. Page generation code is executed to generate at least a portion of the network page in response to the request. The aggregated data is provided to the page generation code as one or more predefined variables. Access to the predefined variables by the page generation code complies with the data contract.

A system comprises one or more modules to present controls that reflect a hierarchy of documents available for online delivery, receive an indication of selected controls, and manage online document delivery (ODD) using the indication. A system for presenting a single-page ODD sign-up, comprises one or more modules to identify a user of an online system, determine a financial account associated with the user, and present a hierarchical control, including the financial account, in the single page to the user. A system comprises one or more modules to receive, from a support representative, a user's preference associated with ODD; receive, from an online interface, an indication that the user accepts an agreement associated with ODD; and manage ODD using the indicia reflecting the user's preference after the indication that the user agreed to the agreement has been received. Abstract: A computer implemented system and method in a client-server environment, is provided for document research, aggregation, and compilation. The system and method includes a server having a search module configured to generate a search interface displayable to a client communicably coupled to the server, and responsive to instructions received via the search interface, to search and sort selections of interest within a plurality of source documents. A customized report module is configured to generate a custom report interface displayable to the client, and responsive to user selection instructions received via the custom report interface, to extract and aggregate the selections of interest into a customized report. Format modules are configured to respectively enable source documents in mutually distinct formats such as the PDF, PPT, and XLS formats, to be searched, sorted, and aggregated by the search module and customized report module.

Abstract: Generally, the systems and methods described herein are directed to rendering a document containing textual elements and graphical elements. The systems and methods include separating the graphical elements from the textual elements, and generating a bitmap rendering of the graphical elements and an HTML rendering of the textual elements. The HTML rendering may then be overlaid on the bitmap rendering to generate a composite document having textual elements that are accessible to screen reader software.

Abstract: Methods are disclosed for gathering information from different sources to be used to automatically fill in online forms. The information is collected using a persona of an individual. A persona is created by filtering a larger set of raw data for that user so that only certain fields are allowed to be seen and used by others. An individual can have several personas, each assigned to a particular other individual, such as a family member or a friend. The individual allowing one of his personas to be shared is the information provider and the user requesting the information is the information requester. The information is taken from both the provider and requester, and used by a vendor in a form, filled out by the information requester. In one embodiment, the information requester is a “gift giver” and the provider is a “gift receiver.” The gift giver is requesting shipping and other information from the gift receiver, who can grant one of his personas to the particular gift giver.
