  • Patent number: 10130799
Abstract: An inflator comprises a body, a first drive member, and a second drive member. The body defines a reservoir that is configured to hold fluid and includes an outlet. The first drive member is operable to move through the reservoir to drive fluid from the reservoir through the outlet. The second drive member is engaged with the first drive member. The second drive member is movable relative to the body through a first range of motion to actuate the first drive member to drive fluid through the outlet at a first rate. The second drive member is movable relative to the body through a second range of motion following the first range of motion. The first drive member is configured to either drive fluid through the outlet at a second rate or not drive fluid through the outlet as the second drive member moves through the second range of motion.

  • Patent number: 10130772
Abstract: A handheld injection device includes a housing, a rotatable dose setting member and a power reservoir coupled to the dose setting member. Energy is stored in the power reservoir during rotation of the dose setting member. The injection device also includes a release member for receiving a force from a user and a rotatably arranged drive member engaging with a drive track of a piston rod. The device further includes a release clutch rotationally constrained to the housing and releasably engaging the drive member. The release clutch is positionable in a first axial position when the release member is in a dose setting position and in a second axial position when the release member is in a dose injection position. The axial position of the drive member within the housing remains constant when the release member is in its dose setting position and in its dose injection position.

  • Patent number: 10130803
Abstract: An access port for subcutaneous implantation into a body of a patient is disclosed. The port is typically subcutaneously connected to a catheter, a distal portion of which is disposed within a vein or other vessel of the patient. The port is configured with enhanced fluid handling features to improve fluid flow therethrough while reducing the likelihood of clotting or occlusions in the attached catheter, thus improving system patency. In one embodiment, for instance, an implantable access port is disclosed and comprises a body defining a reservoir, a needle-penetrable septum covering an opening to the reservoir, a stem defining an outlet to the reservoir, and a deformable element included in the reservoir. The deformable element is operably connected to a main portion of the septum and deforms in response to displacement of the septum to counteract a change in volume within the reservoir and prevent blood ingress into the catheter.

  • Patent number: 10124119
Abstract: An injection device includes a housing having an aperture or window, and a dose indicator positioned within the housing. The dose indicator is rotatable with respect to the housing during dose setting and dose dispensing. The device includes a gauge element interposed between the housing and the dose indicator. The gauge element has a second aperture or window, which is positioned with respect to the first aperture or window such that at least a part of the dose indicator is visible through the first and second apertures or windows. The gauge element is axially guided within the housing and is in threaded engagement with the dose indicator such that rotation of the dose indicator causes an axial displacement of the gauge element. A resilient member provides a force necessary for ejecting a dose from the injection device.
