  • Patent number: 7688292
Abstract: A display device includes a plurality of pixels, wherein each pixel includes: a light emitting element; a first capacitor connected between a first node and a second node; a driving transistor having an input terminal, an output terminal, and a control terminal connected to the second node where the driving transistor supplies a driving current to the light emitting element to emit light; a first switching unit supplying a first reference voltage to the driving transistor according to a first scanning signal and connecting the first node to a data voltage or the driving transistor; and a second switching unit supplying a driving voltage to the driving transistor according to a second scanning signal and connecting the first node to the data voltage. Accordingly, variations in threshold voltage of the driving transistor can be compensated for so that it is possible to display a uniform image.

  • Patent number: 7683897
Abstract: An amplifier includes a biasing section, first and second differential amplifying sections and an output section. The biasing section outputs first and second bias currents based on first and second power source voltages. The first differential amplifying section outputs a first amplified voltage based on the first bias current. The second differential amplifying section outputs a second amplified voltage based on the second bias current. The output section outputs the second power source voltage based on the first amplified voltage and the first power source voltage, and outputs the first power source voltage based on the second amplified voltage and the second power source voltage. Therefore, a variation of the threshold voltage is compensated to enhance display quality.

  • Patent number: 7679588
Abstract: The present invention relates to a display device for providing charges discharged from data lines to a battery. The display device includes data lines, scan lines, pixels, a charge storing circuit and a discharging circuit. The pixels are formed in cross areas of the data lines and the scan lines, and driven on the basis of a driving voltage. The charge storing circuit is coupled to at least one data line during a first sub-discharge time of a discharge time, and stores electric charges discharged from the data line during the first sub-discharge time. The discharging circuit is coupled to the data line during a second sub-discharge time of the discharge time, and discharges the data line up to a certain discharge voltage during the second sub-discharge time.

  • Patent number: 7675511
Abstract: An electronic notebook includes a case; a sheet-like display medium provided in the case, containing charged particles, and having a first surface and a second surface; a first electrode disposed on the case; and a second electrode disposed on the case. By changing a positional relationship between the display medium and the first electrode and the second electrode, the display medium and the first electrode and the second electrode take on either an arranged state in which the display medium is interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode so that the first surface of the display medium opposes the first electrode and the second surface of the display medium opposes the second electrode, or a non-arranged state that is a state other than the arranged state.

  • Patent number: 7639215
Abstract: A display executes a first reset operation during a blanking period, and second and third reset operations and a write operation during each selection period. The first reset operation includes connecting a current source to a precharge circuit and writing a first reset signal into the precharge circuit. The second reset operation includes connecting the current source to a drive circuit of a pixel and writing a second reset signal into the drive circuit to set a potential of a video signal line at a first potential. The third reset operation includes disconnecting the video signal line from the current source and making the precharge circuit output a reset current to the video signal line for a given length of time to shift the potential of the video signal line from the first potential to a second potential.

  • Patent number: 7623102
Abstract: A variation in a display image and duration of a residual image are reduced to improve quality of display of an active matrix type display device. A control circuit sequentially outputs a pre-charge pulse signal PCG1 and a storage capacitor control pulse signal SC1 in synchronization with a falling edge of a vertical start pulse signal STV. A pre-charge TFT in a pixel in a first row is turned on according to the pre-charge pulse signal PCG1. As a result, a source and a gate of a driver TFT are short-circuited, both an electric potential at the gate and an electric potential at the source of the driver TFT become a positive power supply electric potential PVdd, and the driver TFT is turned off. After that, the storage capacitor control pulse signal SC1 rises to a high level, and the electric potential at the gate of the driver transistor is raised by capacitive coupling. With this, electric characteristics of the driver TFT are initialized.
