  • Patent number: 10181223
Abstract: Aspects of the technology described herein provide for sampling the material properties of a source object within a virtual 3D drawing space, and then applying those properties to a target object within the drawing space. The material properties may include not only color, but also other physical properties like texture and sheen. For example, the way an object behaves in different lighting conditions may constitute a material property. According to aspects of the technology described herein, the manner in which an object behaves in lighting conditions, the shininess of the object, and the texture of the object may all be selected, sampled, and transferred to other target surfaces, such as a canvas or the surfaces of other objects, in the virtual 3D drawing space.

  • Patent number: 10109077
Abstract: A purpose of the present invention is to implement, by specifying a process target area, an image generation device which generates an image (video) from which an image quality improving effect can be recognized and a display device which displays the image. An image generation device (1000) includes a screen duplication unit (1), a mask area determination unit (2), a composition unit (3), and an image quality adjustment unit (4). The screen duplication unit (1) extracts and outputs at least a part of an image area of an input image as a process target image. The mask area determination unit (2) determines a mask area of the process target image and generates a mask image specifying the mask area. The image quality adjustment unit (4) performs predetermined image process to the mask area, which is determined by the mask area determination unit (2) in the process target image and outputs the image, to which the image process is performed, as an image after image quality adjustment.

  • Patent number: 10013781
Abstract: A method for drawing a polygon using a graphical user interface includes a display of an object includes an indicator which remains fixed on the display of the object, e.g., at the center of the display. This indicator is referred to herein as the “focus.” The image of the object moves under the focus (by the user executing a drag operation on the image with the mouse or the finger if a touch screen is used) and the focus stays fixed. While the image is moved by the user under the focus, a trail of vertices is created which are interconnected by lines. When the user indicates they are finished with the moving step the last vertex created in the sequence is connected with the first vertex at the start of the moving with a connecting line, completing the forming of a boundary around the region of interest.

  • Patent number: 10008039
Abstract: Various approaches discussed herein enable providing a virtual reality experience of trying on clothes by augmenting an image of an article of clothing so that it appears to be worn by a particular person who is represented in a separate image. The image of the person wearing a special article of clothing containing a number of gridlines is analyzed along with an image of the special article of clothing as it appears unworn. The analysis includes calculating differences in the images to determine a change in the position of the gridlines between the images, then used to generate body shape data. The body shape data is used to augment an image of a prospective article of clothing, which modified image is then combined with the image of the person wearing a special article of clothing and displayed.

  • Patent number: 9996913
Abstract: A system for two color image fusion blending co-registered low light level images in the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum with thermal infrared images maximizes the information content of the scene by detecting in which of the two image types, IR and visible, there is more structural information and increasing the weight of the pixels in the image type having the most structural information. Additionally, situational awareness is increased by categorizing image information as “scene” or “target” and colorizing the target images to highlight target features when raw IR values are above a predetermined threshold. The system utilizes Red, Green and Blue (RGB) planes to convey different information such that for targets the Red plane is used to colorize regions when raw IR exceeds the predetermined threshold. For scene images, the Green plane provides improved situational awareness due to the above weighted blend of the two image types.

  • Patent number: 9933915
Abstract: Methods and system pertaining to displaying vehicle data parameters (VDP) are described. A vehicle service tool (VST) with a display can receive vehicle data messages or signals from a vehicle to receive the VDP. Some of the VDP can be associated with a PID. The VST can display VDP thresholds and indicators when a received VDP has breached a VDP threshold. The VST can determine being changed from a landscape orientation to a portrait orientation or vice versa and responsively change the presentation of VDP graphs displayed by the display. The display can receive various inputs such as a drag-and-drop or pinch-and-expand input to alternatively change the presentation of the VDP graphs being displayed. Changing a VDP presentation of graphs can include resizing or repositioning one or more VDP graph windows including a VDP graph.

  • Patent number: 9804395
Abstract: The disclosure includes a system and method for calibrating a binocular optical see-through augmented reality display. A calibration application renders one or more images of a virtual object on the one or more displays of the human interface device, and receives a user input to adjust a position of the one or more images on the one or more displays. In response to the input, the calibration application identifies a first and second boundary of a target range surrounding a real-world object at a first and second depth, respectively. The calibration application determines a first and second disparity corresponding to the first and second boundary and may record the disparities in relation to the depth of the real-world object.
