Abstract: The invention concerns a coupling for the detachable connection of two components, preferably a shaft with a hub, which for transmission of a torque are rotatably connected with each other by form-fit. When using such plug or form fit connections such as between a roll journal and a coupling box in a rolling mill, large tolerances must be expected that express themselves in peripheral directions and have adverse effects on the surface integrity of the rolled material. The invention provides for a clamping element which preferably can be inserted in the hub, acted upon by hydraulic fluid to keep the shaft in place relative to the hub. The clamping element is of a two-part design and can be filled with hydraulic fluid through appropriate devices, so that the hub is tightly fastened on the shaft upon assembly. For removal of the hub from the shaft, the pressure in the clamping element is simply relieved.
Abstract: A light and vision blocking device structured of a hollow, tubular member having an attached flange for securing the device to a highway median barrier is disclosed. The device is a semi-flexible plastic device suited for impact absorption.

Abstract: A archery bow sight for use with a bow having a body and bow string. The archery sight includes a mounting member for mounting the sight at an intermediate location on the bow, generally in the grip area. A sight frame defines an opening or aperture through which extends at least one fixed cross hair which is generally aligned with the bow string. One or more sub-frames are slidable relative to the fixed frame, each having a generally horizontally extending cross hair. The sub-frames are relatively adjustable so that the individual frames and associated cross hairs may be adjusted for various shooting distances. A level may be associated with the sight to reduce the possibility of cant or tipping.
Abstract: The invention relates to a protective device adapted to be mounted at the base of a roof. The device has a set of posts each having a base section which locates in the gutter at the base of the roof and a fixing device linked to this base section, at least two arms being linked with a pair of posts, by upper parts and lower parts mounted on the posts, at least two bracing wires with each of these bracing wires being linked to one of the posts to connect it to a respective anchoring element located on the roof and a net connected to at least one of the arms and to two of the posts.
Abstract: A connector for connecting the open terminal ends of two pipes. The connector includes a first and a second generally half circular partial bush each having an end which extends into one of the pipe terminal ends. A bolt tightened through one partial bush presses against the facing abuttable surface of the other partial bush to press the other partial bush outwardly causing the partial bushes to frictionally engage in the pipe ends. The bolt preferably extends non-radially along a chord of the circle defined by the bushes. Protrusions axially spaced from the bolt at the facing surfaces of the partial bushes helps distribute the pressing force of the partial bushes to both pipe terminal ends.
Abstract: A one piece shaft which supports two rotatable members is provided with shafts for energizing the rotation and for controlling an energized force of each member separately. The shaft includes a shaft body which connects two hollow shaft bodies attached to each rotatable member unrotatably on the same central shaft axis so as to rotate relatively, two members attached unrotatably to the fixed member attached rotatably to both sides of this shaft, and two torsion bars bridged between the separated hollow shaft bodies and the cap member respectively.
Abstract: An end connector structure for suspension ceiling grid systems provides a connector to connector lock on each side of the web of a through runner. The lock includes a lateral tear drop shaped protrusion providing a rearwardly facing exposed edge in combination with a lateral strap on an associated identical connector which also provides a rearwardly facing exposed edge. When tensile stresses are applied between the two connectors, the connector to connector lock is subjected to forces causing the associated rearwardly facing edges to engage and resist connector separation. The protrusion joins the adjacent portion of the connector material with bends having relatively large radius of curvature to reduce the weakening of the structure of the protrusion resulting from notch sensitivity. These large radius of curvatures result in substantially improved ultimate strength in the connector to connector lock when compared with protrusions formed with relatively sharp bends.
Abstract: A composite-to-metal joint is described which includes an axial metal rod that is embedded in a composite material component to facilitate the application of an axial preload to the joint and apply a compressive force to the composite material. A conical cavity is provided in the metal component of the joint and the composite material component has a surface designed to mate with the same when the two parts are assembled together. The metal rod is embedded in the composite material and extends through an axial aperture in the metal component. A nut threadably engages the rod to draw the two disparate material parts of the joint together, apply a preloading thereto, and apply the compressive force mentioned above to the composite material.
Abstract: The invention is an improved fence made of plastic materials and comprising four parts. A central post, removable cap for the post, fence portions and adapter portions for connecting the fence portions with the central post. The adapter portions have bolt holes oriented in three directions to provide a securing arrangement for the fence and post portions.
Abstract: A device for conveniently securing a plurality of arrows to one another for ease of transport or, alternatively, for securing additional arrows to an existing quiver. The device comprises a wafer member made of a semi-rigid but resilient material, having notches formed in the corners for engaging the shaft portion of an archer's arrow. Abstract: A serrated-shaft connection between a shaft (1) and a hub (4) has a large number of teeth (2, 5) that are located on the outer circumferential surface of the shaft (1) and the inner circumferential surface of the hub (4), respectively. The profiles (6) of the teeth (5) of the hub (4) are bent convexly in cross section. In such a connection, it is essential that the profiles (3, 6) of the teeth (2, 5) of the shaft (1) and the hub (4) should be bent differently in such a way that the profiles (3) of the teeth (2) of the shaft (1) will have distances above the top of the teeth that are different from those above the top of the teeth (5) of the hub (4). As a result, the tooth profiles of the shaft and the hub can mesh with each other during assembly so that a compressive connection that fits with great precision is obtained.
Abstract: A connection system in the form of an assembly of components which can be connected to one another relatively quickly. The connection system comprises first and second members and a connecting element for interconnecting the first and second members. The first and second members each having a face with a connecting aperture therein opening into an internal space within the member. The connection element comprises a bridge portion and a pair of spigot portions one at each end of the bridge portion and extending transversely of the bridge portion. In connecting the first and second members together, the spigot portions of the connecting element are inserted into the openings in the respective members and displaced with respect to the members such that each spigot portion is received and retained in portion of the internal space of the respective member.
Abstract: An eccentric pulley mechanism for a compound archery bow includes an inner eccentric wheel pivotally mounted on the distal end of a resilient bow limb, and an outer pulley wheel which is rotatable relative to the inner eccentric wheel. The inner and outer wheels respectively include rotationally offset detents and notches which are operative for interengaging the inner and outer rotating wheels when the bowstring is pulled to a fully drawn position. As the bowstring is being drawn, the outer pulley wheel and its notch rotate about the inner wheel until reaching a maximum draw where the detent and notch engage and the inner and outer wheels become operable for rotating as an eccentric wheel. When the bowstring is released the engaged inner and outer wheels eccentrically rotate back and impart an increased velocity to the bowstring as it propels an arrow.
Abstract: A connecting device for connecting two panels, particularly furniture panels, together in a preliminary position. A casing of the connecting device has an overall cylindrical shape. The casing is capable of receiving a bolt head through an enlarged opening into a hollow interior. A portion of an exterior circumferential side wall has a slot which is opened to only one side. The enlarged opening has an elastic narrowing section in which the width of the opening is less than the largest diameter of the bolt head.
Abstract: A robot arm coupling apparatus. This apparatus has an inner assembly attached to a robot arm, an outer assembly to which a tool or the like is attached and a locking means to lock both assemblies to each other. Said locking means comprises a piston member supported by the inner assembly slidably between the locking position and the unlocking position, a plurality of ball members surrounding said piston member and supported by the inner assembly, and a ball retainer which is provided at the outer assembly, which is contactable at its tapered surface with the ball member and holds both assemblies together, when the piston member moves to the locking position, in cooperation with the ball member. The working surface of the piston member including first and second tapered surfaces and at least an axially extending cylindrical surface.
