  • Patent number: 5211498
Abstract: A folding joint for a foldable playyard having a base frame having two connecting members pivotably secured at the inside for holding two rails permitting them to be held in a longitudinally aligned position or folded up into a collapsed position. The connecting members each have an axial hole at one end for inserting either rail, two through holes on two opposite side walls thereof, and a track connected between the two through holes. The rails each have a pivot hole secured between the two through holes by a headed pin. The two rails are held in the longitudinally aligned position when the head of the headed pin is engaged in one through hole; and the two rails are allowed to be folded up when the head of the headed pin is rotated to the other through hole.

  • Patent number: 5211155
Abstract: An eccentric pulley mechanism for a compound archery bow includes an inner eccentric wheel pivotally mounted on the distal end of a resilient bow limb, and an outer pulley wheel which is rotatable relative to the inner eccentric wheel. The inner and outer wheels respectively include rotationally offset detents and notches which are operative for interengaging the inner and outer rotating wheels when the bowstring is pulled to a fully drawn position. As the bowstring is being drawn, the outer pulley wheel and its notch rotate about the inner wheel until reaching a maximum draw where the detent and notch engage and the inner and outer wheels become operable for rotating as an eccentric wheel. When the bowstring is released the engaged inner and outer wheels eccentrically rotate back and impart an increased velocity to the bowstring as it propels an arrow.

  • Patent number: 5209600
Abstract: An improved and process for creating a lining in a bore transfers strip wrapped in overlapping spiral fashion about a mandrel to the bore wall such that the edge-to-edge relation of the spirally-wrapped strip is maintained from the mandrel to the bore wall. Adhesive is applied to the strip surface during wrapping thereof on the mandrel. The invention provides a new bore with a thin, strong, corrosion resistant lining over a preselected portion of its length that is substantially pressure tight internally and externally and leak proof thus permitting substantial reuse of the lined bore.

  • Patent number: 5209598
Abstract: This clamping device is intended for releasably connecting two profiled parts (1,19). One of the profiled parts (1) is arranged so that an insert core (2) can be inserted and fixed in it. The core (2) has an axially movable bolt (7) having an end portion which comprises a projection (21) intended to be introduced in a slot of a second profiled part (19) in order to exert a force against an area of a portion of said second profiled part (19) partially covering said opening. A screw received in a threaded bush (4) engages the bolt (7) by means of a system of sliding surfaces (14,15) in order to displace the bolt axially. The bolt (7) has supporting means (27,28) for pivotally supporting holding pieces (17,17'). Said holding pieces and the interior walls of the insert core (2) have a second system of sliding surfaces (24,26) which owing to the axial movement of the bolt (7) cause a deviation of the holding pieces (17) having in its free end area said projection (21) intended to exert said force.

  • Patent number: 5209595
Abstract: A drive shaft has a driving end and a driven end and is provided at the driving end with an external helical thread and a cylindrical pilot surface disposed between the thread and the driving end, the pilot surface having a diameter approximately equal to the inner diameter of the thread. During a mounting of an impeller to the drive shaft, a crest flat of an internal helical thread in the impeller rides on the pilot surface. The shaft has an additional pilot surface on the other side of the shaft thread. Upon a mounting of the impeller to the shaft, the two pilot surfaces on the shaft engage two precision impeller hub bores which straddle the threads to provide a controlled close fit of impeller and shaft to one another and to maintain the geometric axes of impeller and shaft true with one another.

  • Patent number: 5207527
Abstract: A connection system is provided for use with scaffolding to secure laterally extending support members to upright standards. Latching rings permanently secured at intervals along the upright standards are provided with primary latching openings, each of which has a central region of limited breadth with oppositely directed narrower radial elongations of uniform width throughout. The radial elongations of the primary latching openings are located so as to reside in vertical registration with longitudinally elongated apertures formed in flanges of brackets that are secured to laterally extending scaffold support elements. Wedges are carried by the brackets and can be fully engaged only when the laterally extending support members are in precise, orthogonal alignment relative to the upright standards. Preferably, secondary latching ring openings are provided to accommodate diagonal braces to enhance the rigidity of the scaffolding support.

  • Patent number: 5207739
Abstract: A guide rod assembly is mounted on the front end of a tractor with the guide rods closely adjacent the front wheels and the crop rows to transmit steering signals to a steering guidance system. The pair of guide rods pivot from a downwardly extending parallel position upwardly toward a raised closed collapsed transport position. When the guide rods reach a horizontal position, continued upward movement by the lift arms cause the guide rods to pivot inwardly toward each other to a collapsed transport position eliminating interference with the steerable tractor front wheels.

  • Patent number: 5207528
Abstract: The invention concerns a retaining device for an angled head (10, 11) that is driven by a drive (1) especially a drilling gun, in which the drive unit (1) has a receiving connector (2) to receive the angled head (10, 11). To allow adjustment of the angular position of the angled head with respect to the drive unit, a socket (31) that can be screwed onto threads (33) of the receiving connector (2) is provided to receive the angled head (10, 11). Pins (21) which can be displaced axially in order to retain or release balls (25) are provided in the socket (31). The receiving connector (2) has on its outer surface a plurality of lengthwise grooves (29) in which the balls are held (25). When the pins (21) are displaced axially the balls (25) are released, so that the socket (31) can rotate relative to the receiving connector (2) until the balls (25) engage in corresponding lengthwise grooves ( 29) and are retained by the pins.

  • Patent number: 5205228
Abstract: A device for placing seed into the soil at a specific pitch in which radiating spikes of two star wheel formed discs are brought together by rotating the discs synchronously at an angle and that each of the radiating spikes has on its inner side a hollow channel forming an internal closed funnel when the spikes are brought together and opens when by further rotating the spikes move away from each other. The means for placing seed or small objects into the funnels consists of a hub disposed about the axis of rotation of the disc and mounted to rotate with the discs which hub is provided with cells adapted to receive the seed or the other small objects and to release them upon rotation of the discs so they can fall under gravity into the funnel. The device is particularly suitable for the sowing of seed in soil covered by a thick crop residue.

  • Patent number: 5205058
Abstract: A roadbed maintenance device includes a first frame adapted for attachment to the front end of a vehicle, and a second frame to which a moldboard is joined. The first frame and the second frame are pivotably joined by a parallelogram linkage, so that the second frame can be pivoted between a lowered position in which the lower edge of the moldboard touches the roadway, and a raised position in which the lower edge of the moldboard does not touch the roadway. The pivoting movement is preferably accomplished by biasing the second frame toward the raised position, and applying a force to accomplish pivoting toward the lowered position. The pivoting force is provided by a gas-actuated cylinder linked to the second frame, using a compressed gas source on the vehicle. The moldboard is desirably made of molded rubber.
