Abstract: Systems and methods of configuration management for enterprise software are disclosed. Some method embodiments comprise: storing updated configuration information for a software tool in a configuration database; periodically accessing the configuration database to retrieve updated configuration information; and when an updated configuration is found, replacing a configuration file for the software tool with an updated configuration file that incorporates the updated configuration information. In some embodiments, an API of the software tool may be automatically invoked to provide the software tool with updated configuration information. Using a separate configuration database in this manner enables a flexible web-based interface for many individuals to configure a shared tool without requiring downtime. Where needed, database access may be limited to authorized users.

Abstract: A method may include obtaining a source file at a node in peer-to-peer network and dividing the source file into a plurality of pieces. The pieces of the source file may be encoded using network coding principles. A last-modified-date (LMD) value may be appended to each of the encoded pieces, the LMD value being the same for each of the encoded pieces of the source file. The encoded pieces with the LMD values may be sent to one or more other nodes in the peer-to-peer network.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and systems for managing how merchandise listings satisfying a search query are processed and presented to a user of a computer-based trading or e-commerce application when the listings are of heterogeneous types. Consistent with some embodiments, in response to a user-initiated search query, item listings and product listings are displayed intermingled in a set of search results pages. The item listings and product listings are positioned relative to one another, in part, based on a level of demand associated with the product listings and the item listings, where demand is measured by monitoring user-initiated activities in connection with the item and product listings.

The method includes determining a selected table intersection between a period of interest and a time period value for a selected table row, scanning an inner table for a row that matches the selected table on the join conditions and overlaps the selected table intersection, and determining the remainder time period values from the selected table intersection.

Abstract: A method, device, and system for resetting snapshots are provided. The reset of a snapshot incorporates the traditional snapshot delete and snapshot create operations into a single operation. Additionally, a snapshot created under the reset operation may receive an array partition from a snapshot being deleted under the same snapshot reset operation thereby retaining its identifying characteristics.

Abstract: A system and method for ensuring existence all IMS database components operating on a mainframe computer may include a storage unit configured to store multiple IMS databases and multiple respective sets of IMS database components. A processing unit may be in communication with the storage unit. Software, when executed on the processing unit, may cause the processing unit to (i) access multiple IMS database libraries, (ii) identify each set of IMS database components that is missing at least one IMS database component in the IMS database libraries, and (iii) generate a report listing each set of IMS database components missing at least one IMS database component.

Abstract: A system that facilitates the automatic tagging of contextual metadata information to a file as the file is being created. The system facilitates the automatic association of data with a user context, and includes a data operations component that associates with data operations being performed on a data. These data operations include standard data operations such as read, write, delete, move, copy, paste, etc., that are normally associated with data operations. The system further includes a tagging component that facilitates automatic tagging of contextual information to the data when the data is created. That is, when the data is first saved, the tagging operation of the contextual information is performed on the data. Subsequent save operations simply overwrite the existing data in the storage location. Thus, data and applications can be grouped based on the identity of the tag.

Abstract: A system includes a data structure having a Direct Table (DT), Patricia-Trees, Pointers and high speed storage systems such as Contents Address Memory (CAM). The DT has a plurality of entries with each one coupled to a Patricia Tree having multiple nodes coupled to leaves. The number of Nodes, termed a threshold, that can be traversed to obtain information in the leaves is limited to a predetermined value. Once the threshold is reached a pointer indicates the address of the CAM and the address of the leaves is stored in the CAM. By using the structure and method the latency associated with tree search is significantly reduced.

Document storing instruction information is acquired to instruct to store a second document information including a second information element, which is generated by copying a first information element included in a first document information. The second information element included in the second document information is acquired based on the acquired document storing instruction information. Then, it is instructed to store the second information element. Next, copy originator information concerning the first information element, which is included in the document storing instruction information and is a copy originator of the second information element, is acquired. Abstract: A technology for efficiently filtering using a web site is disclosed. In one method approach, distinct filtering values based on a type of data selected from a web page associated with a web site are received without requiring retrieval of filtering values that are unrelated to the selected type of data. The distinct filtering values are displayed without requiring the web page to be entirely updated.

Abstract: A method and system enable a user to develop domain-specific policy workbench. Domains may include, but are not limited to security, autonomic computing, workload management and systems management. The method and system in one aspect determines syntax of a policy in a selected domain and creates an instance of policy workbench specific to the selected domain. In one aspect, the instance of policy workbench includes at least machine-readable encodings of the selected policy and associated mapping. The instance of policy workbench also includes a compliance auditing tool enabled to check events logged at a target system against the selected policy and associated mapping to determine if one or more policy rules have been complied with. In another aspect, domain-specific policy workbench creation machine is provided that automatically creates an instance of domain-specific policy workbench.

Abstract: In a system in which data employed by a computer is stored in a storage system, the storage system transfers this data to another storage system and a copy of the data is maintained in the other storage system. The consistency of the copy is maintained even when data is written, to the storage system by a computer, without having a write time applied. A source storage system, when a write time is applied to a write request, records the write time and applies this write time to the received write data and, when no write time is applied, applies the recorded write time to the received write data and transfers the write data with this write time applied thereto, to a target storage system. The target storage system stores the write data in a logical volume in the target storage system in accordance with the write time.
