  • Patent number: 9428253
Abstract: A rowing device conversion kit for a stand up paddleboard (SUP) includes a frame assembly with seat tracks; a seat assembly with a rolling seat; and a rigger assembly. The frame assembly is attached to the SUP with four attachment clamps that each engage a portion of a rail of the stand up paddleboard. Universal attachment clamps are metal coated in non-slip plastic or rubber, so that the clamps conform to the profile of the rails. The clamps are strapped to the frame assembly by wrapping straps around the frame; tightening the straps; and buckling the straps. A locking mechanism keeps the seat in place as the user is climbing on or off the SUP. The rowing mechanism folds up into a bag the size of a golf club bag. The rigger detaches from the framework and breaks down into two pieces.

  • Patent number: 9409628
Abstract: A boat cover for a suspended cover system that is configured to fit a boat in a manner that prevents relative movement therebetween minimizing wear. The cover has at least one fitting seam that follows part of the top of the boat. An integral cover cinching arrangement enables tightening the bottom of the cover against the hull bugging it. Vents overlying a passenger section minimize wind force by reducing cover pressure differential. The cover can be equipped with a second fitting seam that extends along the gunwale of the boat and can have a downwardly extending fitting seam section that extends below the gunwale toward the bow to help fit the cover to the front portion of the hull of the boat. Stretchable straps used to hang the cover from a track of the boat cover system can be used to minimize force on the cover caused by wave action.

  • Patent number: 9403585
Abstract: A one-person watercraft, with a unique design and basic innovative modular catamaran style structure that makes the craft transformable, and useful for different hybrid water sports. The watercraft enables the user to either stand or sit while providing power to the craft. The craft comes in multiple versions, and the user may provide power to the craft through elliptical movement, hand-driven levers or foot-driven pedals/skis while standing up and/or sitting down and moving in an elliptical motion. These turn a propeller, at the back of the craft. Embodiments of the craft utilize the Venturi effect (with a flexible drive shaft and a retractable propeller rudder system) to increase the propulsion created by water flowing through the propeller. The craft is designed to float stably to ensure users' safety, and may be used for leisure recreational activity, exercise, physical rehabilitation, transportation to travel across water, or any combination of the above.

  • Patent number: 9341235
Abstract: An attachment flange for buoys and marine fenders. The attachment flange includes an opening therethrough that includes a substantially continuously curved interior surface which engages a line to increase the surface contact area between the opening of the attachment flange and the line. The opening of the attachment flange further includes rounded edges which reduce the abrasion and localized stress applied to the line. The curved surface with the rounded edges enables the attachment flange to receive less concentrated forces applied thereto, which may extend the life of the attachment flange or may reduce the required reinforcement needed for a given application. The features disclosed herein also reduce the abrasion and concentration of force applied to the line coupled to the attachment flange which helps to prevent line wear and failure.
