  • Patent number: 5279329
Abstract: A faucet diverter valve is disclosed having three positions for delivering a stream or spray of untreated water, or a flow of treated water. The position of the faucet diverter valve is selected by means of a single rotating handle. Rotation of the handle causes a valve spool to move axially within a manifold to bring fluid flow openings in the valve spool in and out of alignment with openings in the manifold. The valve spool carries seals which direct the flow of untreated water through a straight stream outlet, a spray outlet, or to a treatment loop in which untreated water passes through a treatment device, returns to the faucet diverter valve, and exits through a treated water outlet. The treatment loop return is sealed against dripping and the introduction of air by the valve spool.

  • Patent number: 5273073
Abstract: A control valve for a particulate material blender which permits either blending or bypassing with pressurized gas or discharging the material without pressurized gas, but prevents undesirable interconnections. A cylindrical body with four access ports spaced around the body has a rotor with connecting passages within the body. In one embodiment, the rotor interconnects either the gas entry port to the blender port alone, the gas entry port to the blender and bypass ports, or the blender port to the discharge port as it rotates into one of its three positions. A suitable rotation means, for example, two rotary actuators, are used to secure the three positions of the valve, while preventing any other rotational positions.

  • Patent number: 5265842
Abstract: An engine emission control metering valve includes a metering ball valve element operatively connected to an electrically-energized linear actuator that includes a stationary magnet and a moving coil concentric with the magnet. The coil has a different axial length than the magnet such that application of a current to the coil causes coil-generated magnetic flux to axially push the coil away from the magnet. Coil movement translates into movement of the metering valve element through the wedging action of a cam element driven by the coil movement.

  • Patent number: 5261454
Abstract: A multiport selector valve incorporates a polished interface between a respective poppet of each port and a displaceable valve spool. A controlled gap exists between each poppet and its respective port fitting to pressurize a recess in which an O-ring is seated during operation of the valve. This results in the O-ring seal being urged against a confronting surface of the poppet which increases the contact force between optical surfaces of the poppet and the spool, particularly during periods of dynamic flow. The construction of the valve results in a unit of high reliability and useful life with attendant reduction of replacement costs.

  • Patent number: 5261639
Abstract: A valve for metering a fluid including a small upper plate, a small middle plate and a small lower plate. The small middle plate has a closing element with a diaphragm region surrounding the closing element. The stroke of the closing element is limited in an axial direction by the small upper plate and by a valve seat of the small lower plate. As a result, very accurate metering of the fluid is possible. The valve is especially suitable as an injection valve for injection systems of mixture-compressing internal combustion engines with externally supplied ignition.
