Abstract: The present disclosure describes a process and apparatus for improving insertions of entries into a hash table. A large number of smaller virtual buckets may be combined together and associated with buckets used for hash table entry lookups and/or entry insertion. On insertion of an entry, hash table entries associated with a hashed-to virtual bucket may be moved between groups of buckets associated with the virtual bucket, to better distribute entries across the available buckets to reduce the number of entries in the largest buckets and the standard deviation of the bucket sizes across the entire hash table.

  • Patent number: 10432561
Abstract: Approaches presented herein enable determining whether to allow a communication to a recipient using a communication device based on one or more classifications of nearby individuals. Specifically, location awareness technology is leveraged to identify individuals near an intended recipient of a communication. Through review and analysis of information related to the individuals gathered from social networking outlets (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) and/or gathered from the recipient's communication device, a classification is assigned to each individual. Based on the classifications, a determination is made as to whether the intended communication mode is to be allowed.

  • Patent number: 10425946
Abstract: Wireless stations of a Wi-Fi network based are steered to either a high throughput channel or a low throughput channel based on data exchange capacity, in addition to dual-band capability. A probe request data packet from a wireless station seeking to join a channel of the plurality of channels supported by the access point is detected. Dual-band capability is determined as indicated by the probe request. Responsive to having dual-band capability, a high throughput capability of the wireless station is determined as indicated by the probe request. Responsive to having high throughput capability, the wireless station is assigned to a high throughput channel. A probe response data packet with a channel assignment is generated for transmission to the wireless station.

  • Patent number: 10420088
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a slot structure (e.g., the arrangement of channels and pilot signals within a slot) that can relax the processing timeline for a wireless communication device. For example, in the first or initial symbol of a slot, control information may be frequency division multiplexed (FDM) with a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) or with user data. In some cases, delayed-processing data may be sampled, and the samples may be buffered at the receiving device, for processing later, after control information needed to process the data has been received and processed. Further aspects provide for payload pre-tapering. That is, when a device delays the processing of data bits, this can cause a processing bottleneck after that buffering delay. By virtue of various pre-tapering techniques described herein, the processing load needed to process the delayed-processing data can be reduced. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
