  • Patent number: 10158980
Abstract: Disclosed are a method, device and system for maintaining the continuity of a group communication service, for solving the problem in the prior art that the service continuity requirement of group communication may not be satisfied due to the switching of network service from multicast transmission to unicast transmission in an MBSFN domain. The method comprises: when determining that group communication service needs to be switched from multicast transmission to unicast transmission, a GCSE-AS notifies a terminal served by the GCSE-AS that the GCSE-AS is going to switch the group communication service from multicast transmission to unicast transmission; and after receiving a first notification message transmitted by the terminal, the GCSE-AS transmits the group communication service over a unicast carrier established by the terminal for unicast transmission, and stops transmitting the communication service in multicast mode.

  • Patent number: 10148392
Abstract: According to the present disclosure, CSI and/or a plurality of ACKs related to a group of DL data transmissions may be buffered at the UE as a GACK until a DCI trigger is received from the eNB. Once the trigger is received, the UE may transmit the CSI and/or GACK to the eNB. In this way HARQ feedback and/or CSI may be reliably communicated while reducing payload. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus send, to a UE, data transmissions associated with a first plurality of downlink subframes. In an aspect, the apparatus increments a counter for each data transmission sent to the UE. In a further aspect, the apparatus transmits, to the UE, a first trigger for a first GACK when a counter is greater than or equal to a threshold.

  • Patent number: 10149320
Abstract: The present disclosure concerns radio communication. More particularly, the disclosure presents a contention based access channel signaling between a radio access network node, such as an evolved NodeB (eNB), and a User Equipment (UE). In one example embodiment, the UE receives 110 a data frame comprising multiple zones from an eNB. A zone of the multiple zones comprises an UE group identity as well as an indicator addressing a reserved contention-based access channel for use in another zone by those UEs having said UE group identity. Also, the UE group identity is retrieved 120, or otherwise read, from the zone. If, or when, the UE group identity matches that of the UE, the UE may utilize 130 the addressed reserved contention-based access channel.

  • Patent number: 10149332
Abstract: A wireless communication device intends to request an RRC connection to initiate a voice call, initiate a data session or respond to paging. The wireless communication device considers the maximum response time for the connection setup indicated by a serving cell and compare to the maximum response (i.e. waiting) time for the connection setup indicated by a neighbour cell. A long maximum response time may indicate a cell with high load. If the maximum response time indicated by a neighbour cell is significantly lower, the wireless communication device may either reselect and request RRC connection from this neighbour cell instead or reduce the time to wait for a response from the serving cell and reselect to the neighbour cell if there is no response from the serving cell within the reduced time.

  • Patent number: 10003619
Abstract: A method of handling SIP session initiation requests in an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, network. The method is performed at an application server, AS, within the network. The AS receives a session initiation request containing a destination address, where that destination address is currently associated with a plurality of registered User Equipments, UEs. The AS then determines whether or not a UE associated with the destination address, is already involved in a session. If so, the AS causes the session initiation request to be forwarded only to that UE. If not, the AS causes the session initiation request to be forwarded to all UEs registered in respect of the address.

  • Patent number: 9992797
Abstract: A method to improve channel access opportunity for wide bandwidth transmission in wireless local area networks is proposed. The method allows different clear channel assessment (CCA) thresholds for different transmission channel bandwidth. During a primary channel CCA process, a low CCA threshold level is applied for an intended narrow transmission channel bandwidth, while a high CCA threshold level is applied for an indented wide transmission channel bandwidth. In addition to the “all bandwidth transmission branch” that is based on the low CCA level, the “wide bandwidth transmission branch” is based on the high CCA level, which increases the opportunity for channel access by raising the CCA levels based on intended transmission channel bandwidths. As a result, the likelihood of wide channel transmission is increased.
