  • Patent number: 12214459
Abstract: A lock and pin for the structural and fluid tight repair of cracks not amenable to high temperature repairs or synthetic material patches. Fluid tight pins and locks seal the crack while one or more locks prevent the crack from growing. These repairs need to endure the remaining life cycle of the machinery part while withstanding all the strain, pressure, heat and expansion and contraction of the part before the crack(s) were formed. Often these cracks evolved due to engineering design flaws that will require even greater strength from these areas than when new.

  • Patent number: 12214455
Abstract: A device for separating, treating and rejoining objects includes a process wheel for transporting bottom and cover pieces of the objects, a separating device, and an insert device for inserting the pieces in the process wheel. The process wheel has a first lower receiving ring with a first radius and a second upper receiving ring with a second smaller radius which are jointly rotatable as a unit. A wheel assembly is arranged between the separating device and the process wheel. The wheel assembly has a first lower wheel with bottom holders distributed around the periphery and a second upper wheel with cover holders for the cover pieces distributed around the periphery. The bottom holders and/or the cover holders in the circumferential direction are larger than the received bottom pieces or cover pieces such that, in operation, they surround the bottom or cover pieces with a compensation play.

  • Patent number: 12203499
Abstract: A fastening system includes a first component and a second component. The fastening system includes a fastener assembly configured to attach together the first component and the second component. The fastening system also includes a layer disposed between the fastener assembly and the first component and/or the second component. The layer is configured to provide an alert when a predetermined compressive load has been reached in the first component and the second component which signals that a preload of the fastener assembly has been reached. A method of preloading a fastener assembly includes applying a torque to the fastener assembly until a predetermined compressive load has been reached in the first component and the second component. The alert of the layer is activated when the predetermined compressive load has been reached which signals that the preload of the fastener assembly has been reached.

  • Patent number: 12168491
Abstract: A cylindrical part of a rack retainer accommodation part and an adjust screw are caulked such that a plastic deformation region by caulking straddles both a female screw part of the cylindrical part and a male screw part of the adjust screw, and the adjust screw is loosened to a point where a set load that is a force by which the rack retainer urges a rack bar falls within a predetermined range. After the set load adjusting step, the caulking step is not performed again, and fluctuations in the set load associated with the impact of caulking work after the set load adjusting step can be suppressed. Thus, it is possible to suppress fluctuations in the urging force of the rack retainer applied to the rack bar caused by caulking work which stops the rotation between the rack retainer accommodation part and the adjust screw.

  • Patent number: 12152505
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of reducing play in a vane arc segment. The vane arc segment includes an airfoil piece that defines first and second platforms and a hollow airfoil section that has an internal cavity and that extends between the first and second platforms. The first platform defines a gaspath side, a non-gaspath side, and a radial flange that projects from the non-gaspath side. Support hardware supports the airfoil piece via the radial flange, and a thermal insulation element is located adjacent the radial flange. The method includes performing a light scan of the radial flange to produce a digital three-dimensional model of the radial flange, and then machining the thermal insulation element in accordance with the digital three-dimensional model to provide a low-tolerance fit between the radial flange and the thermal insulation element that limits play between the airfoil piece and the thermal insulation element.

  • Patent number: 12140375
Abstract: Sleeve for mounting a ceramic roller in a roller hearth furnace, the sleeve has a receptacle for one end of the ceramic roller, the receptacle being surrounded by a lateral wall. The lateral wall has, in the axial direction, a waist portion and a clamping portion, wherein a wall thickness (d) of the lateral wall in the waist portion is smaller than in the vicinity of the waist portion, and a cross-sectional area of the receptacle in the clamping portion is smaller than in the vicinity of the clamping portion. A ceramic roller can be mounted in a roller hearth furnace by the sleeve, even at high temperature. During production, the sleeve is provided with a reduced cross-sectional area in the clamping portion. When the sleeve is pressed axially onto the end of a ceramic roller, the reduced cross-sectional area produces an elastic force, with the sleeve being held on the ceramic roller.
