  • Patent number: 9952716
Abstract: One driving electrode or one set of driving electrode of a touch screen are designated as a base electrode or base electrodes. When the base electrode or base electrodes are provided by a driving signal, the detected signal from the sensing electrodes is designated as a level signal. The level signal is used to adjust the detected signal when other non-base electrodes are provided by the driving signal, whereby the detected image from the touch screen can be leveled.

  • Patent number: 9946423
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention generally provide an input device with display screens that periodically update (refresh) the screen by selectively driving common electrodes corresponding to pixels in a display line. In general, the input devices drive each electrode until each display line (and each pixel) of a display frame is updated. In addition to updating the display, the input device may perform capacitive sensing using the display screen as a proximity sensing area. To do this, the input device may interleave periods of capacitive sensing between periods of updating the display based on a display frame. For example, the input device may update the first half of display lines of the display screen, pause display updating, perform capacitive sensing, and finish updating the rest of the display lines. Further still, the input device may use common electrodes for both updating the display and performing capacitive sensing.

  • Patent number: 9910540
Abstract: Method and system are provided for management of a touchscreen interface of a device. The method includes monitoring touchscreen interface function by logging data relating to user interaction with locations of the touchscreen interface. The logged data is then analyzed to identify one or more areas of the touchscreen interface which are inactive. The remaining active areas of the touchscreen interface are modeled to form a modified interface. An original touchscreen interface is then mapped to the modified interface resulting in only use of the remaining active areas.

  • Patent number: 9891714
Abstract: A system generates haptic effects using at least one actuator and at least one speaker. The system receives a high definition (“HD”) haptic effect signal and a corresponding audio signal if audio is to be played. The system generates a standard definition (“SD”) haptic effect signal based at least on the HD haptic effect signal, and generates an audio based haptic effect signal based at least on the HD haptic effect signal. The system mixes the audio signal and the audio based haptic effect signal, and then substantially simultaneously plays the SD haptic effect signal on the actuator and plays the mixed signal on the speaker.
