  • Patent number: 10218895
Abstract: The technology disclosed relates to enhancing the fields of view of one or more cameras of a gesture recognition system for augmenting the three-dimensional (3D) sensory space of the gesture recognition system. The augmented 3D sensory space allows for inclusion of previously uncaptured of regions and points for which gestures can be interpreted i.e. blind spots of the cameras of the gesture recognition system. Some examples of such blind spots include areas underneath the cameras and/or within 20-85 degrees of a tangential axis of the cameras. In particular, the technology disclosed uses a Fresnel prismatic element and/or a triangular prism element to redirect the optical axis of the cameras, giving the cameras fields of view that cover at least 45 to 80 degrees from tangential to the vertical axis of a display screen on which the cameras are mounted.

  • Patent number: 10199008
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods that implement state machine models in wearable electronic devices are described. A wearable electronic device stores processor-executable gesture identification instructions that, when executed by an on-board processor, enable the wearable electronic device to identify one or more gesture(s) performed by a user. The wearable electronic device also stores processor-executable state determination instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the wearable electronic device to enter into and transition between various operational states depending on signals detected by on-board sensors. The state machine models described herein enable the wearable electronic devices to identify and automatically recover from operational errors, malfunctions, or crashes with minimal intervention from the user.

  • Patent number: 10162416
Abstract: A system is provided that dynamically converts an input signal into a haptic signal. The system generates effect objects, where an effect object includes an instruction to perform a haptic conversion algorithm on the input signal to convert the input signal into an output signal, and where an order of the effect objects is defined. The system further receives the input signal. The system further applies the effect objects to the input signal in the defined order, where the output signal of an effect object forms the haptic signal. The system further sends the haptic signal to a haptic output device, where the haptic signal causes the haptic output device to output haptic effects.

  • Patent number: 10133355
Abstract: Projected input and output devices adapt to a desktop environment by sensing objects at the desktop environment and altering projected light in response to the sensed objects. For instance, projection of input and output devices is altered to limit illumination against and end user's hands or other objects disposed at a projection surface. End user hand positions and motions are detected to provide gesture support for adapting a projection work space, and configurations of projected devices are stored so that an end user can rapidly recreate a projected desktop. A projector scan adjusts to limit traces across inactive portions of the display surface and to increase traces at predetermined areas, such as video windows.

  • Patent number: 10108276
Abstract: A mouse device includes a mouse casing, a first sensing module, a second sensing module and a switching module. The mouse casing includes a casing opening. Both of the first sensing module and the second sensing module are disposed on the switching module. Moreover, a part of the first sensing module and a part of the second sensing module are selectively exposed outside the casing opening. When the first sensing module or the second sensing module exposed outside the casing opening is rotated by the user, a switching body of the switching module is correspondingly rotated relative to the mouse casing. Consequently, a moving resolution of the mouse device is adjustable according to the practical requirements. The switching module has a simple mechanism for changing the moving resolution of the mouse device in a simple manner.

  • Patent number: 10078384
Abstract: A haptic effect enabled device for producing a haptic effect. In some cases, the haptic effect may represent a component of a spatial pattern represented on a surface of the haptic effect enabled device. In some cases, the haptic effect enabled device may comprise a haptic output device, a drive module, and a drive circuit. The drive module may receive information indicative of a location of a touch input at the surface and determine whether the touch input's location corresponds with a location of one of multiple components of the spatial pattern. The drive module may generate a drive signal that the drive circuit then applies to the haptic output device to generate the haptic effect.
