The injection nozzle is further configured to fabricate a corresponding protection slab of the solid polymer at the desired depth by injecting the supplied liquid polymer into the corresponding cavity.

At least one of the plurality of modular sections is constructed by operations that include forming a wall along a perimeter to bound a volume, filling the volume with a castable material, and hardening the castable material. In some instances, forming the wall includes depositing layers of printable material successively on top of each other. The method also includes joining the plurality of modular sections to assemble the support structure.

    Abstract: Backflow during installation of a ground anchor is controlled using a preventer, and the preventer is removed during curing of grout and backflow. A cylinder may be inserted at least partially into a structure, and the preventer placed or attached atop the cylinder. A hollow bar may be extended through the preventer and cylinder into one or more layers of materials beyond the cylinder. Grout may be delivered to the layer(s) through the hollow bar, which may cause a viscous backflow to flow into the cylinder and preventer. During application of the grout, the preventer may be used to control a rate of backflow. After application of the grout, the preventer may put into an open position, and a seal assembly forced down the hollow bar, through an interior cavity of the preventer, to a position below the preventer, after which the preventer may be removed while the grout and backflow cure.

The system comprises a floating vessel having a pair of forks defining a slot. A gimbal table, defining an opening, is positioned within the slot and connected to the vessel and a locking collar is mounted to the gimbal table. A mating member is attached to the spar buoy. The vessel is maneuvered to bring the spar buoy within the gimbal table opening. With the spar buoy positioned within the gimbal table opening, the locking collar is arranged and designed to releasably attach to the mating member of the spar buoy and restrict relative vertical motion between the spar buoy and the vessel while the gimbal table allows the floating vessel to roll and pitch without driving these motions into the spar buoy.

    Abstract: An apparatus for impeding beach erosion includes a sea-facing barrier wall penetrated by large holes that allow water mixed with sand to enter the apparatus. Smaller holes provided in a rear wall allow the water to drain out after the entrained sand has settled. An underlying water reservoir fills with the drained water and gravitationally anchors the apparatus. The reservoir can be buried in the sand or placed on top thereof. The top of the barrier wall can be curved to direct water back toward the sea. The barrier wall can extend above the rear wall, and a backstop wall can form an additional sand-collecting chamber behind the rear wall. The walls can be made from plywood, metal, or plastic. Embodiments can be disassembled and/or folded for transport and storage. Internal reinforcing partition walls can extend between the barrier and rear walls. The apparatus can be further anchored by stakes.
