Abstract: A cognitive communication assistant receives a message transmitted over a communication network from a sender to a recipient. A sender's industry identified with the sender and a recipient's industry identified with the recipient are determined. One or more terms associated with the sender's industry are extracted from the message. A definition associated with the one or more terms is searched for in an on-line reference text. The message is updated based on the definition. The message is transmitted over the communication network to the recipient.

Abstract: Disclosed systems and methods determine a reading order of an electronic document. In an example, a document processing application accesses a content stream that includes a first object with a first location within the electronic document, a second object with a second location within the electronic document, and a third object with a third location within the electronic document. The application computes a region that includes the first object and the second object by determining that the second object is adjacent to the first object in a first dimension, at least a portion of the first and second objects are aligned in a second dimension, and the boundaries of the region do not intersect or encompass the third object. Based on the objects in the region, the application determines that a reading order should include the first object and the second object and should exclude the third object.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for updating a webpage rendered with cached content are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: receiving, at a user device, a request to present a webpage; retrieving, from memory local to the user device, a template associated with the webpage and a plurality of content items to be included in the webpage; causing the webpage to be presented on the user device using the retrieved template and the one or more content items; transmitting a Remote Procedure Call (RPC) to a server associated with the webpage, wherein the RPC includes an identifier of the webpage; receiving a response to the RPC that includes at least one update to the webpage; and causing the webpage to be updated based on the response to the RPC.

Abstract: In non-limiting examples, the present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for performing an analysis of an electronic document comprising a review for a plurality of writing issues related to the electronic document's conformance to a specified target audience; causing, in an application associated with the electronic document, one or more flagged writing issues identified by the analysis of the electronic document to be displayed; receiving a selection of a flagged writing issue; and based on the selection of the flagged writing issue, causing, in a contextual menu, one or more alternative suggestions to replace text associated with the flagged writing issue to be displayed, the one or more alternative suggestions based, at least in part, on a fluency metric and a resemblance of the one or more alternative suggestions to the text associated with the flagged writing issue.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for adding a template engine to a Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) grid layout to display content using different templates. An embodiment operates by generating a grid layout component based on a template. The generated grid layout component defines a layout type based on a cascading style sheet (CSS) grid layout. The embodiment generates a grid component comprising a set of grid cell components based on a view file. Each grid cell component represents a grid cell in the CSS grid layout, and each grid cell component is mapped to one or more rows and one or more columns in the CSS grid layout. The embodiment then displays content of the set of grid cell components using the layout type.

Abstract: In response to a request received from a client device to view an item, a program determines a category associated with the item and a location associated with a user of the client device. The program also identifies a form based on the category and the location. The form comprises a set of fields. The program then provides a graphical user interface (GUI) that includes the form to the client device. The program also receives, through the GUI, data values for the set of fields from the client device and a request to add the item to a collection of items. The program then identifies a policy based on the category and the location. The program also applies the policy to the data values for the set of fields. The program then sends a notification to the client device indicating a result of the application of the policy.

Abstract: Disclosed systems and methods for the automatic creation of multiple layouts that maintain a design aesthetic of an input design document. In an example, a document processing application determines a set of document layout parameters such as balance or equilibrium from an input document. The application calculates, for each document layout parameter of the input document, a weight representing a prominence of the respective layout parameter. The application selects templates having an output size and a number of object containers equal to the number of objects of the document. The application further calculates a score for each template by applying the weights of the document layout parameters to the template layout parameters. The application further selects a template with a highest score and places the object on the template, thereby creating the new design document that maintains the design aesthetic.

Abstract: A system for providing assistance with electronic communications includes a network device configured to communicate with a client computing device, a processor, and a memory including instructions stored thereon. When the instructions are executed by the processors, the instructions cause the system to receive category information and tonal information of an electronic message and a certification level selected from a plurality of certification levels, from the client computing device via the network device, create a project for the electronic message, select an assistant from a plurality of assistants for the project based on the category information and the tonal information, and provide a message, which has been edited by the selected assistant based on the category information and the tonal information, to the client computing device.

Abstract: Digital annotation and digital content linking techniques implemented by digital content generation system as part of a computing device are described. The system is configured to convert a digital document including an object from a first format to a second format, receiving the digital document in the second format with an annotation associated with the object, converting the digital document in the second format with the annotation associated with the object to the first format, and maintaining the association between the annotation and the object subsequent to an alteration in a page sequence of the document in the first format, or movement of the object.

Abstract: Methods and systems for enabling file attachments in a mobile calendar application are presented. In some embodiments, a mobile device may receive a message comprising an electronic calendar invitation and an electronic file attachment. The mobile device may generate an association between the electronic file attachment received in the message and a calendar event in an electronic calendar mobile application executing on the mobile computing device, wherein the calendar event is associated with the electronic calendar invitation. In response to receiving a selection to display the calendar event in the electronic calendar mobile application, the mobile device may generate a display of the calendar event comprising a display of the associated electronic file attachment in the electronic calendar mobile application.

Abstract: A structured document creation system comprising one or more first files and a structured document creation portion. The one or more first files comprise a first file format and one or more first file attributes. The structured document creation portion comprises a plurality of first documents in a second file format with the second file format comprising a format different than the first file format. The structured document creation portion further comprises a plurality of rules relating to the second file format and an output comprising one or more second files. The one or more second files comprise the second file format and are dependent upon the plurality of first documents and the plurality of rules. The output comprises the one or more first file attributes, received directly from the one or more first files.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods that are configured to semi-automate data transformation processing so that content can be transformed, from one type of electronic document, for presentation in another type of electronic document. For instance, data transformation suggestions, for transforming content from a first form into a presentation form (second form), may be generated and presented to a user through an improved user interface of an application/service that is used to display the first form of the content. The improved user interface provides a new user interface menu to manage the data transformation suggestions and/or export/import processing of data from one type of electronic document to another. Based on user selection of the confirming data transformation suggestions through the user interface menu, a presentation document is automatically generated on behalf of the user, for example, in a different application/service.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a method for formatting variable data production of a document can comprise defining, by a document production system, a set of rules. The set of rules can comprise one or more of a derived rule, a matching rule, or a formatting rule associated with one or more data objects of the document. The set of rules can be applied to the associated one or more data objects of the document based on dependencies between the rules in the set of rules. The dependencies between the rules in the set of rules are resolved in a hierarchically vertical manner. One or more custom documents can be generated based on the applied set of rules.

Abstract: A method, computer program product, and visual display apparatus include a processor(s) obtaining data indicating that a user wearing the apparatus (which included an image capture device, and a projection device, communicatively coupled to the processor(s)), perceives displayed text with consistent character differences. The processor(s) obtains, from the image capture device, an image of a visual display within a visual range of the image capture device; the image includes textual elements. Based on the data, the processor(s) transforms the image into the new image that includes the textual elements with pre-defined character substitutions, based on the consistent character differences. The processor(s) displays, via the projection device, the new image, to the user, wherein based on viewing the new image, the user views the textual elements without the consistent character differences.

A method may include obtaining contextual properties for a plurality of end users and device related information for computing devices used by the plurality of end users, the contextual information being obtained from a plurality of ambient information sources, including selection from a plurality of contextual repositories. Also, the method may include calculating a trust level for each of the plurality of customer analytic information sources and each of the plurality of device information databases, and building a contextual vocabulary from the contextual information and the device related information selected based upon their trust levels.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for adjusting an input virtual keyboard and an input apparatus, which are directed to solve the problem of one-hand operation in existing input virtual keyboards. The method comprises: based on a received keyboard floating instruction: adjusting a size of an input window to a screen size; intercepting a click event performed on a touchscreen by a user and detecting the click event; and when the click event is detected as a keyboard adjustment instruction, based on the keyboard adjustment instruction, adjusting at least one of a drawing position and a drawing size of an input view, wherein the input view is a region for drawing the input virtual keyboard in the input window.

Abstract: A contract negotiation platform stores a plurality of contract documents in a database and stores metadata for the contract documents. Each contract document includes a plurality of phrases. Metadata for each contract document includes an identification of whether each respective phrase in the respective contract document has been agreed upon by parties to the respective contract document. When a respective phrase has not been agreed upon by the parties, the metadata stores a count of the number of times that the respective phrase has been modified. The platform displays each contract document according to the metadata for the phrases. Phrases that have been agreed upon by the parties are indicated by a first color. Phrases that have not been agreed upon by the parties are indicated by a plurality of second colors according to the respective count of times the respective phrase has been modified.
