  • Patent number: 10939040
Abstract: An audio/video (A/V) recording and communication doorbell, including a camera, a speaker, a microphone, a power manager, a battery, an AC/DC rectifier, and a DC/DC converter. The doorbell is configured for connection to an external AC power source through the AC/DC rectifier and the DC/DC converter. The power manager is configured to draw power, up to a threshold power, from the AC power source and to draw supplemental power from the battery such that the power drawn from the AC power source never exceeds the threshold power. The present A/V recording and communication doorbell can thus be connected to an existing household AC power supply and an existing doorbell signaling device without causing inadvertent sounding of the signaling device.

  • Patent number: 10914557
Abstract: A process for managing a formation of intelligent electronically-embedded intelligent shields includes first receiving, from a plurality of primary officer and intelligent shield pairs, first location information and pressure information measured at a pressure sensor coupled to the intelligent shield and indicative of a pressure being applied to a front and/or rear face of the intelligent shield. The received pressure information is then compared to a threshold pressure value to identify those shields exceeding the threshold. Then a particular secondary support officer is identified for aiding the particular primary officer, after which either a redeployment message is transmitted to the particular secondary support officer or an indication instruction is transmitted to the intelligent shield in the particular primary officer and intelligent shield pair.

  • Patent number: 10904667
Abstract: A head-mounted wearable device (HMWD) with a form factor of eyeglasses incorporates a compact audio module with transducers that may be operated as an acoustic dipole or acoustic quadrupole. The audio module provides ducts that convey sound with a particular phase from a transducer to particular output ports. The phase of sound emitted from a first output port is opposite to the phase of sound emitted from a second output port. The audio module may include a pair of transducers, enabling operation as an acoustic dipole or quadrupole. The ducts are integrated into elements of the structure of the audio module, minimizing the overall size of the audio module.

  • Patent number: 10826957
Abstract: A communication server and accompanying communication devices allow near instantaneous communication between users of the communication devices. A communication device may be configured with multiple channels, where each channel is assigned a corresponding communication device. As the communication devices are registered with the communication server, each communication device has knowledge of other registered communication devices. Thus, communication devices may communicate nearly instantaneously with each other. Furthermore, as the communication device is equipped with multiple channels, a single communication device may host a conference call with other communication devices. In addition, communication device may include multiple buttons to control the communication device, and indicator lights to indicate the status of calls with other communication devices.

  • Patent number: 10812897
Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to an audio system. The audio system may include a first audio device that includes a casing that houses a speaker and an internal waveguide. The internal waveguide may be configured to direct sound from the speaker to ambient air outside the casing. In some embodiments, the casing of the first audio device may be configured such that, when the first audio device physically engages or is otherwise coupled to a surface of an object (e.g., when the casing is placed on a surface of a table), an external surface of the casing forms, in conjunction with the surface of the object, an extended waveguide. The extended waveguide may be longer than the internal waveguide, which may provide several benefits to the operation of the first audio device versus when the first audio device is not coupled to the surface of the object.

  • Patent number: 10764434
Abstract: The disclosed techniques enable selective forwarding and blocking of calls directed to an alias phone number based on a whitelist, as well as text message alerts triggered by phone calls from unauthorized originating numbers. More generally, the disclosed techniques enable an enterprise system to store contact phone numbers (i.e., alias phone numbers) for users while avoiding storing and managing personal phone numbers for the user. For example, the enterprise system may forward personal phone numbers to an aliasing server configured to generate alias phone numbers based on the personal phone number. The aliasing server may operate as a “middle man” that receives calls directed to the alias phone number and that forwards the calls to the personal phone number when appropriate. The enterprise system may store and maintain the alias phone numbers in lieu of the personal phone numbers.

  • Patent number: 10750009
Abstract: Embodiments include a system, method, and computer program product that authenticates a caller using calling party information. In an embodiment, an authentication device receives the call request and associated calling party information that includes a calling party number. The authentication device retrieves parameters associated with the calling party number, where a retrieved parameter is a number of accounts linked to the calling party number. The authentication device determines whether the number of accounts is between one and a threshold value, inclusive, and verifies that the call request originates from a location or a device associated with the calling party number. Based on the verifying and determining, the authentication device generates an authentication result that indicates whether the calling party number is authenticated.

  • Patent number: 10750000
Abstract: A method and system are provided for opportunistically initiating a multimedia call between two or more devices such as smart speakers at a time when users of the respective smart speakers are available to participate in a call. A server system receives an instruction from a first smart speaker associated with a first user to establish a real-time communication session with a second smart speaker. In response to that instruction, the server system monitors availability of both the first user and the second user at their respective smart speakers. On determining that both the first user and the second user are available at the same time, the server system initiates the real-time communication session between the first smart speaker and the second smart speaker.
