  • Patent number: 9731496
Abstract: The present invention describes a method for manufacturing rotogravure cylinders with a cylinder base made of aluminum and a single metallic layer on the cylinder surface. The method comprises the construction of the cylinder base, the deposition of the metallic layer on the cylinder surface, the thinning of the cylinder to achieve the required dimensions, the polishing of the cylinder surface and finally the etching of the cylinder with the desired printing pattern. The metallic layer can be any copper alloy that will produce a surface with a Vickers hardness of about 400 HV. The metallic layer is deposited onto the cylinder base using any thermal spraying method. The cylinder surface is then thinned and polished by using any conventional method. Finally, the cylinder is etched to provide a superb cylinder for the printing industry.

  • Patent number: 9714917
Abstract: A desired effective voltage can be ensured with certainty in a preheating control. An operation control part 52 reads a correction value c with respect to a battery voltage Vb at the time of performing correction based on preliminarily stored correlation between a battery voltage Vb of a vehicle-use battery and a correction value c (S104, S106), and compensates for lowering of an effective value of a pulse voltage by adding a correction value c to a duty ratio calculated by a predetermined arithmetic expression thus ensuring a desired effective voltage with certainty in a preheating control.

  • Patent number: 9696289
Abstract: A method is described for compensating for a voltage offset in a voltage-lambda characteristic curve of a two-point lambda sensor in relation to a reference voltage-lambda characteristic curve of the two-point lambda sensor, the two-point lambda sensor being situated in an exhaust duct of an internal combustion engine. It is provided that the slope of the voltage-lambda characteristic curve is determined for an output voltage of the two-point lambda sensor and is compared to the slope of a reference voltage-lambda characteristic curve at equal output voltage, and the voltage offset is determined from a deviation of the determined slope of the voltage-lambda characteristic curve from the slope of the reference voltage-lambda characteristic curve. Also described is a control unit for carrying out the method. The method and the control unit enable the determination of and compensation for a voltage offset of a two-point lambda sensor caused by aging or manufacturing tolerances.

  • Patent number: 9651038
Abstract: A pulsation and particle suppressing continuous air flow system for air sampling instruments, particularly particle counters. An air pump occupies a portion of a sealed vacuum housing, with the other portion of the housing forming a surge chamber used to damp surges as the air pump attempts to pump air towards an air outflow port through an outflow pipe. The unoccupied volume of the surge chamber dampens or dilutes the surges at an air inflow port of the housing that is associated with an air sampling instrument, such as a particle counter. The air outflow port is associated with a filter for trapping particles originating inside of the air pump and associated motor while the interior of the housing itself traps particles originating outside of the air pump and motor.

  • Patent number: 9649834
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a material composition that may be usable as a surface component in a plate design for use in variable data digital lithographic image forming devices. The disclosed material composition incorporates infra-red (IR) absorbing filler materials, including carbon black filler material particles in a fluorosilicone polymer or elastomer. The inclusion of the disclosed carbon black material compositions promotes precise heating in a patterning step for a layer of dampening fluid while minimizing harmful byproduct emissions including emissions of trifluoropropionaldehyde (TFPA) resulting from localized heating of a principally fluorosilicone imaging layer. The disclosed homogeneously-dispersed carbon black particles are particularly usable for improving operational characteristics of fluorosilocone-based reimageable surface layers of imaging members employed in the variable data digital lithographic image forming devices.
