  • Patent number: 9673988
Abstract: A virtual private network (VPN) over a telecommunications network is created by sending a request from a first VPN device to a second VPN device for establishing a VPN between the first and second VPN devices. The request includes a first signed certificate having a verified VPN parameter for the first VPN device. A reply is received at the first VPN device from the second VPN device that includes a second signed certificate having a verified VPN parameter for the second VPN device. The VPN is established between the first and second VPN devices based on each verified VPN parameter for each of the first and second VPN devices.

  • Patent number: 9667447
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for a first network controller located at a first physical domain that manages a logical network spanning several physical domains including the first domain. The method stores a set of context identifiers for assignment to logical entities. The context identifiers are for use in packets sent between managed forwarding elements in order to store logical network information in the packets. While connected to a master controller for the logical network at a second physical domain of the several physical domains, the method forwards state input requiring assignment of context identifiers to the master controller. While connectivity is lost with the master controller, the method assigns context identifiers from the stored set of context identifiers to logical entities.

  • Patent number: 9667280
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to a technique for touch temperature management of a wireless communications device based on power dissipated over time, and possibly internal temperature readings. For example, the information about power dissipated over time can be utilized along with monitored internal temperatures of a device's internal circuitry to reduce transmit power and/or data rates as required in order to keep a surface temperature of the wireless device below a specified limit. A knowledge of how the device's touch temperature varies with the dissipated power and a knowledge of the power dissipation history can be utilized to determine when to reduce the transmit power in order to avoid overheating (e.g., exceeding the touch temperature limit).

  • Patent number: 9655054
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for adapting blind reception duration for range and congestion. A wireless station may measure channel conditions (e.g., range to an access point (AP) and channel congestion), and adjust one or more sleep timers based on the conditions. The sleep timers may each be associated with a window for reception of an expected transmission. If the transmission is not received in the window, the station may enter a sleep state to conserve power. In one example, a beacon miss timer is adjusted, and the expected wireless transmission is a delivery traffic indication message (DTIM). In another example, a content after beacon (CAB) timer is adjusted and the expected wireless transmission is the CAB. In some cases, the station may measure a delay for a number of beacons and determine the adjustment based on the delays.

  • Patent number: 9628540
Abstract: Systems and methods for handling the processing of multiple SIP transactions that have been requested at substantially the same time can involve establishing a priority order for processing the SIP transactions, and then individually processing the SIP transactions based on the established priority order. One or more SIP transactions having a lower priority can be held in a SIP processing queue of a software application until the processing of SIP transactions having a higher priority has been completed. Each time that the processing of a higher priority SIP transaction is completed, the next-highest priority SIP transaction in the queue is submitted for processing. Also, where possible, two or more SIP transactions in the queue may be consolidated into a single SIP transaction.

  • Patent number: 9577927
Abstract: A novel method that uses the source port field in the transport or connection layer (L4) header to encode control plane information is provided. Specifically, the method encodes control plane information in UDP or TCP source port field of data plane tunnels in an overlay network such as VXLAN. Network virtualization is implemented by a network controller over an overlay network on the physical fabric. The network controller provides a mapping table to the data plane hosts for mapping the encoded bits in the source port field to semantically richer information. The data plane hosts in turn uses the encoded source bits and the mapping table to infer this semantically richer information. This semantically richer information is used to allow receivers of proxied traffic to learn the address of the original sender. The semantically richer information can also be used to enable ECMP for the transmitted packets.

  • Patent number: 9571304
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for a first network controller located at a first domain that manages a logical network spanning several physical domains including the first domain. Upon reconnection to a second network controller located at a second physical domain of the several physical domains after a period of disconnect, the method receives a first set of updates indicating modifications to logical network state from the second network controller. The method reconciles any conflicts between (i) the logical network state stored at the first controller, (ii) the first set of updates received from the second network controller, and (iii) updates received from other network controllers located at different physical domains of the several physical domains. The method transmits a second set of updates to the second controller indicating modifications to the logical network state based on the reconciliation of conflicts.

  • Patent number: 9564997
Abstract: A method for determining whether an acknowledgement received by a user equipment from an external device is a forced acknowledgement. The method including transmitting a set of data stored in an uplink buffer to an external device, receiving an acknowledgement from the external device, determining if the acknowledgement received from the external device was a forced acknowledgement and flushing out an uplink buffer if determined that the acknowledgement was not a forced acknowledgement. The determining the acknowledgement is a forced acknowledgment being based on whether an uplink retransmission collides with one or more scheduled transmission times, a Physical Hybrid-ARQ Indicator Channel (PHICH) falls between gap measurements and an uplink retransmission collides with one of the gap measurements or a TTI bundling retransmission collides with a gap measurement. If the acknowledgement is not a forced acknowledgment, a set of data stored in the uplink buffer is retransmitted to the external device.
