  • Patent number: 11202193
Abstract: A device can receive, from a node in a core network, application identifiers associated with applications accessible by a first user device. The application identifiers can be associated with latency requirements. The device can obtain, from the first user device, a first packet associated with a first packet flow. The device can compare information regarding the first packet flow, and the application identifiers to determine that the first packet is destined for a low-latency application having a specified latency range. The device can identify a first low-latency bearer that satisfies the specified latency range associated with the low-latency application. The device can map the first packet flow to the first low-latency bearer, and communicate packets, associated with the first packet flow, using the first low-latency bearer. The packets can include data packets communicated between an entity hosting the low-latency application and the first user device, while bypassing the core network.

  • Patent number: 11197331
Abstract: A communication device (UE) conducting wired and/or wireless communications may issue service requests using zero-round-trip-time (zero-RTT) connectivity. The UE may obtain, prior to initiating an application, an address corresponding to a service and a security credential for use in accessing the service. The UE may receive, after initiating the application, an instruction to issue a service request, and generate the service request that may include a service identifier corresponding to the service, the address corresponding to the service, and the security credential for use in accessing the service. The UE may then transmit the service request to an edge server associated with the service. The edge server may route the service according to the service identifier. Multiple data centers/servers may advertise their services to the edge server associated with the service, facilitating fast routing of the service request by the edge server associated with the service.

  • Patent number: 11159284
Abstract: Teachings herein improve the choice of carrier placement in a wireless communication network by de-coupling the carrier raster from the subcarrier grid. Recognizing that the placement of a carrier by its center frequency is an artificial construct, it is re-defined and the carrier placement is instead defined by the carrier position, which is on a carrier raster (e.g., 100 kHz), but in general does not have to be the center of the carrier. Second, a subcarrier grid is defined that is common for all RF carriers and spanning a range of frequencies, at least within an operating band, and provides orthogonality for subcarriers within all RF carriers regardless of carrier position. Third, a unique mapping from the carrier position on the RF carrier raster to a subcarrier reference position, e.g., the DC subcarrier, is defined, which in turn identifies the exact position of the RF carrier on the subcarrier grid.

  • Patent number: 11109236
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive data transmissions on primary cell and transmit feedback for the data transmissions on a secondary cell, where carriers on the secondary cell have a subcarrier spacing that is greater than the subcarrier spacing of carriers on the primary cell. The UE may perform a self-contained transmission by receiving data and transmitting feedback within a single transmission opportunity. The base station may schedule the UE for only downlink transmissions in the primary cell, removing uplink transmission resources and guard periods from slots of primary cell carriers. The UE may transmit other information on the high band cell as well, such as a channel quality indicator or scheduling requests. The base station may apply rate adjustments for downlink transmission in the next slot of a primary cell carrier.
