Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for managing policies for a set of computing resources. The method imports several sets of resource management policy rules from several heterogeneous sources. The method stores each set of imported policy rules as a primitive policy. The primitive policies are (i) applicable to resources in the set of computing resources and (ii) combinable into composite policies that are applicable to resources in the set of computing resources. Composite policies are combinable into additional composite policies with primitive policies and other composite policies.

Abstract: Techniques described herein automatically discover the IP address of a first network device such as but not limited to a multifunction printer. Such techniques use a unique identifier of the first network device, such as for example a multifunction printer serial number. Such unique number is used in the configuration of a second network device, such as for example a Digital Front End/External Print Controller that may need the IP address of the first network device. The unique number may be entered once into the second network device or may be received from the first network device through a data interface by the second network device. Techniques then may use any available broadcast technology such as but not limited to Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) to determine from available network devices which network device therefrom has the same unique number, thereby obtaining the IP address of the first network device.

Abstract: The object of the invention is a method to receive e-mail from any transmitting user in a specific e-mail address, generating proof of all the operation transactions to deliver a certificate to the transmitting user as a trusted third party of the sending and delivery of an e-mail, indicating the content and the attachments, by the steps of reception in a mail server, sending of a copy to the recipient, its itemization in a database and its registration in the client register and database, where finally a data processing unit creates an electronic receipt with the transactional data, the data sent, the attachments and it digitally signs it creating the certificate that it sends to the initial user.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and an apparatus for allocating a stream processing unit, and pertains to the field of communications technologies. The method includes: obtaining a parallelism degree and a resource usage rate of a stream processing component on each computing node, and determining the number of stream processing units according to the parallelism degree; generating a stream processing unit to be allocated, and determining a resource usage rate of the stream processing component as a resource usage rate of a corresponding stream processing unit; and allocating, according to a processing capability of the computing node on which the stream processing component is located and a resource usage rate of an allocated stream processing unit, the stream processing unit to be allocated to a corresponding computing node. According to the present invention, the steam data processing efficiency of a distributed stream processing system is improved.

Abstract: A computer system includes a server computer including a processor, a main memory and a system management chip, a management station that manages server profiles and selects a server profile from server profiles and associates it with the server computer, and at least one data network via which the server computer and the management station are coupled to interchange data, wherein the system management chip of the server computer is set so that, when the system management chip activates, it sends an inquiry regarding a server profile associated by the management station to the management station, so that, if a management connection can be set to the management station, it configures a component of the server computer by using a network identifier transmitted by the management station, and to otherwise prevent starting of the server computer with a network identifier transmitted by the management station previously.

Abstract: In accordance with aspects of the disclosure, systems and methods are provided for managing forensic investigations of client assets associated with a client based on a forensic service agreement between the client and a cloud service provider, including establishing the forensic service agreement between the client and the cloud service provider for servicing the forensic investigations of the client assets associated with the client, acquiring forensic data related to each client asset associated with the client, and generating one or more client inventory records for each client asset based on the forensic data related to each client asset, and generating one or more client evidence records for each client asset based on each client inventory record generated for each client asset.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium having instructions to store data that provides mappings between criteria information and lists of codecs; receive an indication that one of an audio session, a video session, or an audio and video session is to be initiated with another device; obtain one or more criteria metric values in response to a receipt of the indication; select one of the lists of codecs from the data based on one of the mappings and the one or more criteria metric values; transmit the one of the lists of codecs to the other device via a wireless network; receive a response, via the wireless network, from the other device, wherein the response indicates one of the codecs; and use the one of the codecs during the one of the audio session, the video session, or the audio and video session.

Abstract: Improved techniques of identifying when a device needs of service involve using data analytics to determine conditions when a device administrator of a computerized device is to be sent an alert regarding that device. Along these lines, a device monitoring system receives state data from a device that indicates the device is in a particular state, e.g., running certain applications, using some percentage of the processor and memory capacity, etc. The device monitoring system maps the device state data to a decision of whether or not to send a device administrator an alert concerning the device. The decision itself is a result of applying a model to the state data that is derived from the application of data analytics on historical device state data and administrator login data.

A method of processing a broadcast signal including a Non-Real Time (NRT) service, the method comprises receiving and processing a signaling information table including access information of the NRT service, receiving and storing data of the NRT service based on the signaling information table in non-real time, extracting access information of additional information relating to the NRT service from the signaling information table, and downloading the additional information relating to the NRT service based on the extracted access information.

Abstract: In terminal management method, a server sends operation information for performing a management operation on a target terminal to a gateway. The operation information carries a return format of an execution result of an operation command for performing the management operation on the target terminal. After receiving an operation command execution result sent by the target terminal, of the operation command and if there is an indication of a return format for the operation command execution result, the gateway processes the operation command execution result according to the indicated return format of the operation command execution result to obtain an operation command execution result conforming to the return format. The operation command execution result conforming to the return format is sent to the server.

Abstract: Redirecting message flows to bypass load balancers. A destination intermediary receives a source-side message that includes a virtual address of a load balancer as a destination, and that is augmented to include a network address of a destination machine as a destination. The destination intermediary determines that a source intermediary should address subsequent network messages that originate from a source machine and that are associated with the same multi-message flow to the destination machine while bypassing the load balancer. The destination intermediary modifies the source-side message so the destination for the source-side message addresses the destination machine, and passes the modified source-side message to the destination machine.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method and network device for control plane protection for various tables using storm prevention entries. Specifically, the disclosed system receives a first packet, and creates an inactive entry in a table. The system then forwards the first packet from a first processor to a second processor for processing. Also, the system associates the inactive entry with a timestamp indicating when the first packet is forwarded to the second processor, and determines a configured interval (CI) associated with the table. Further, the system compares a difference between a current timestamp and the timestamp associated with the inactive entry against the CI upon receiving a second packet. If the difference is longer than the CI, the system associates the inactive entry with the current timestamp, and forwards the second packet to the second processor for processing. Otherwise, the system discards the second packet.

Abstract: A distributed control protocol dynamically establishes high availability (HA) partner relationships for nodes in a cluster. A HA partner relationship may be established by copying (mirroring) information maintained in a non-volatile random access memory (NVRAM) of a node over a HA interconnect to the NVRAM of a partner node in the cluster. The distributed control protocol leverages a Cluster Liveliness and Availability Manager (CLAM) utility of a storage operating system executing on the nodes to rebalance NVRAM mirroring and alter HA partner relationships of the nodes in the cluster. The CLAM utility is configured to maintain various cluster related issues, such as CLAM quorum events, addition or subtraction of a node in the cluster and other changes in configuration of the cluster. Notably, the CLAM utility is an event based manager that implements the control protocol to keep the nodes informed of any cluster changes through event generation and propagation.

Abstract: Managing a co-browsing session of multiple users where there are multiple roles that each user may have, and each respective user has a role. Software manages a computer system to: (i) monitor the co-browsing session to detect a condition; and (ii) responsive to detection of the condition, change the role(s) of at least one user. The change of role(s) is made automatically and without human intervention.

Abstract: An environment is described in which a cloud-implemented service system controls a plurality of target devices via a plurality of respective device-agnostic pipe mechanisms. The target devices themselves may represent “dumb” devices, e.g., lacking local control logic, or providing reduced reliance on local control logic. Users may interact with the service system via applications running on any type of user devices.

Abstract: In at least one embodiment, in response to introduction of a first storage node into a storage network including a plurality of storage nodes, the first storage node discovers at least one second storage node that is a peer storage node. The first storage node downloads one or more versions of one or more shared soft configurations from the second peer storage node. In response to selection of a first version of a first shared soft configuration for activation, the first storage node subscribes to the first shared soft configuration and activates the first version of the selected shared soft configuration on the first storage node. Thereafter, in response to an update of the first shared soft configuration to a second version on the first storage node, the first storage node propagates the second version of the first shared soft configuration to the second storage node.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to facilitating a plurality of heterogeneous hosts to use a range of priority values. A method of facilitating a plurality of heterogeneous hosts to use a range of priority values is provided. The method retrieves a plurality of priority ranges from a plurality of network forwarding elements shared by a plurality of heterogeneous hosts. The network forwarding elements provide access to a set of storage devices that stores data for the plurality of heterogeneous hosts. The method generates, by a computer that comprises one of the heterogeneous hosts, a universal priority range from the plurality of priority ranges. The method maps a plurality of workloads performed by the computer to priority values in the universal priority range. The method sends the universal priority range to at least one other host of the heterogeneous hosts.

Abstract: Provided are systems, methods and computer program products that proactively manage configurations that enable a service. Configurations that are critical to enabling a particular service are automatically captured, for example as part of a provisioning activity, and/or tracked in association with that service. This automated, service-oriented configuration management enables improved service assurance and faster identification of problems, and mitigates the problem of errors and compromised service delivery that can arise from misconfigurations.
