  • Patent number: 8782242
Abstract: Embodiments associate software applications with computing resource containers based on placement rules. A placement rule indicates that a first software application is to be co-located with a second software application during execution of the first and second software applications, or that the first software application is to be separated from the second software application during execution of the first and second software applications. A target computing resource container is selected based on the placement rule and a computing resource container that is associated with the first software application. The second software application is associated with the target computing resource container, and the placement rule may be provided to the target computing resource container.

  • Patent number: 8751689
Abstract: One illustrative embodiment involves executing one or more script-based libraries to serialize an object comprising content that is displayed on a web page in a web browser on a client device. The serialization comprises identifying a string representing raw bytes that identify the object. The embodiment also involves establishing a connection between the client device and a server device, wherein the connection is a full duplex communication channel for communication between the client device and the server device. The embodiment further involves sending, from the client device, the serialized object over the full duplex communication channel to the server device and receiving the serialized object from the server device. The serialized object from the server device is serialized according to the string representing raw bytes. The embodiment further involves deserializing the object from the server device.

  • Patent number: 8745221
Abstract: A point of presence includes edge servers having IP addresses and storing content, a switch/router that receives and forwards requests for content to the edge servers, a health monitoring server that gathers health information from the edge servers, and a dynamic request rerouting (DRR) server. The DRR server is connected with each of the edge servers. If the DRR server obtains a determination that one of the edge servers is down, it advertises a route including the IP address of the down edge server to the switch/router. The switch/router forwards a request for content, originally addressed to the down server, to the DRR server. The DRR server forwards the request to a working server that stores the content. The working server sends the content to the DRR server, the DRR server forwards the content back to the switch/router, and the switch/router responds to the original request with the content.
