Current traffic in the network data processing system may be monitored by a processor unit while the mobile platform is moving. The current traffic is compared by the processor unit with a baseline of traffic in the network processing system to form a comparison. A determination is made as to whether an undesired event has occurred in the traffic based on the comparison. An action may be initiated responsive to a determination that an undesired event has occurred.

    Abstract: A direct view display provides a light modulating panel and a backlight including first and second sets of spectral emitters. The first set of spectral emitters generate a first light bundle and the second set of spectral emitters generate a second light bundle. Several modes of operation may be provided including (1) an advanced 2D mode, (2) an enhanced color gamut mode employing simultaneous illumination of the first and second set of spectral emitters, (3) a privacy screen mode, (4) a channel multiplexed mode, and (5) a stereoscopic image mode. The latter three modes utilize the first and second set of spectral emitters to alternately illuminate a portion of the light modulating panel. Images and representations generated by the direct view display operating in the latter three modes are viewed using appropriate eyewear having filters with passband characteristics to transmit the respective light bundle.

An exemplary system for obtaining a scalable variable-length nonce includes a transmitting engine that transmits a request associated with a current token. The exemplary system also includes a receiving engine that receives a message associated with the current token. The exemplary system further includes a token acquiring engine that obtains a new token, and an appending engine that appends the new token to the current token.

    Abstract: Proxy mobile IP provides mobility to a mobile device that is not equipped to perform client mobile IP by moving the mobile IP signaling responsibility from the mobile device into the network. A network element performs the mobile IP signaling on behalf of the mobile device. In one scenario, the mobile device establishes a PPP session with a foreign agent, with no mobile IP signaling on top of the PPP session. The foreign agent then performs mobile IP signaling with the mobile device's home agent to negotiate a proxy mobile IP session for the device. Once the session registration lifetime has been established by the foreign agent and the home agent, the foreign agent communicates the registration lifetime to the mobile device by way of a PPP vendor-specific packet.

When a large file that is not already in cache or being transferred is requested, a background thread may be created to transfer the file and a shared data structure created to track portions of the file that are transferred.
