  • Patent number: 9519825
Abstract: An access permission level for a first individual may be calculated by utilizing repositories of social network databases. The facial image of a first individual may be captured and compared with a repository of pre-categorized individuals. In response to the facial image of the first individual being absent from the repository of pre-categorized individuals, the repositories of social network databases may be crawled to collect facial images of non-categorized individuals. The first facial image may be compared with the facial images of non-categorized individuals, and a second individual may be identified. In response to identifying, categorization data associated with the second individual may be collected. Utilizing the categorization data, the second individual may be sorted into one of a plurality of categories. Based upon an image match score and the category which the second individual is sorted into, an access permission level may be determined and provided to a user.

  • Patent number: 9519836
Abstract: A method and/or computer program product assists in locating objects using a local physical device and one or more remote physical devices having image capture capability. A local physical device captures one or more reference images of an object, and shares identification metrics associated with one or more reference images of the object with one or more of the remote physical devices. One or more remote physical devices captures one or more images of an area in which the object may be located, and determines, using the identification metrics, whether any of the images captured includes the object. In response to a determination that any of the images captured includes the object, those images are stored and associated with the object. In response to the object being lost by a user, the local physical device reviews the stored images to determine a location of the lost object.

  • Patent number: 9508022
Abstract: A method and a device are provided for performing a recognition process. The recognition process compares an individual fingerprint view to a fingerprint enrollment template in order to determine whether a match has been found. The determination of a match is based on individual match statistics collected between the individual fingerprint view and each view of the fingerprint enrollment template. Additionally, inter-view match statistics between each view of the fingerprint enrollment template may also be determined. The inter-view match statistics can be analyzed along with the individual match statistics to further inform the determination of a match between the individual fingerprint view and the fingerprint enrollment template.

  • Patent number: 9454697
Abstract: A method and system for uniquely identifying a subject based on an iris image. After obtaining the iris image, the method produces a filtered iris image by applying filters to the iris image to enhance discriminative features of the iris image. The method analyzes an intensity value for pixels in the filtered iris image to produce an iris code that uniquely identifies the subject. The method also creates a segmented iris image by detecting an inner and outer boundary for an iris region in the iris image, and remapping pixels in the iris region, represented in a Cartesian coordinate system, to pixels in the segmented iris image, represented in a log-polar coordinate system, by employing a logarithm representation process. The method also creates a one-dimensional iris string from the iris image by unfolding the iris region by employing a spiral sampling method to obtain sample pixels in the iris region, wherein the sample pixels are the one-dimensional iris string.
